Good clean room , restaurant next door

The hotel was very clean and warm. Is was a very relaxing stay. There is only one downfall there is no longer a reception
Which mean you have to check in at a very busy pub next door.

We really liked the hotel, friendly staff.
But too bad there was no hot water. Overall we liked it. Will come back again.

I arrived on Oct 21-2024 straight from LAX at 8am. They accommodated me and my wife ASAP right on the spot no questions asked. The place is super close to Edinburgh Castle and the best of town @ 20 minutes by bus. Bus station is about 100yds and they have service almost 24 hours to the airport. You"ll save a lot and don't need UBER.

Okay. The shower needed repair or was difficult to use. Good food at the attached pub

Lovely clean hotel, will definitely stay here again

Good place for the night. Well lit parking lot. Only hassle was check in at the restaurant next door but it wasn’t bad. No elevator.
5.0
You need to check in at the pub and then walk to the next building for the rooms. There is No elevator.
Location was great for dining options, beds were comfortable. Is a little bit noisy - the bathrooms are connected so you hear constant running water.
The card is needed for the room lights to work, so make sure you request more than one.

Very clean & comfortable and ideal just off the motorway on a trip from the north

Staff were great. Location was okay for our purpose as a base to visit Edinburgh. Used train on advice from reception.

Clean, fresh and modern rooms, quiet during the evenings. Good choice of food and drink, with the Sunday carvery being outstanding.
Easy access to the M90 and parking excellent.

Staff was fantastic especially the lad who checked us in on Tue 6th Aug 2024.
Plenty of places to eat in the surrounding areas.
On little issue was cars beeping near one of local eateries.

Stayed here last year and was happy with everything, however one year on and the hotel area has nose dived significantly. Windows don't close, the carpets are really dirty, the rooms have had repairs and then painted over with different coloured paint. The hotel area felt grubby. The pub/restaurant was decent enough, food and drink was reasonably priced. I wouldn't stop there again however.

Lovely property, too many options for dining and great location

Nothing unique.Hotel needs maintenance. On arrival my bathroom tap was running[not dripping) I informed them of problem.it was only fixed 3 days later with a whole new tap system. Hundreds of gallons of water was wasted during my stay. Not good enough for an organisation which is supposedly "Green"The shower is fixed to the ceiling at a height of7 feet. The bath is quite high to step over. Not a place for disabled or infirm.Quite far from nearest station.£14 for taxi.

The reception desk is at the back of the restaurant next door and does not feel welcoming. The hotel itself feels sterile and strange as there there are no staff around.
Room was clean but there was a wall being repaired so it made the room look shabby

A calm stay with motorway nearby. Has variety of breakfast options which you can pay for and enjoy. Room was clean, well kept and check in was as easy as a breeze.

Hotel was good value for money, you get what you pay for. No major issues, bathroom let it down but other than that we would stay here again. Nice friendly staff.

First stay in a Marston's Inn. Would do it again. (and did) Inexpensive option (this stay) and was well situated for our next days travels to Doune Castle and Invergordon. Will make Marstons a more prominent option on my future travels to their area.

Return to the Sweet Chestnut for 1 day before returning our rental card in Edinburgh. Well situated for whatever we chose to do. Great launching off point.

The hotel was perfect and the local facilities were great however the noise from the cars into the night in the nearby car park was not so good. I would recommend the hotel but it is not quiet sometimes. Is there nothing you can do to restrict the car park being so noisy?

Location for my event and amenities were great. Only thing which spoilt the stay was a broken bath/shower tap. Reported on the day arrival, no attempt made to fix it so had to take matters into my own hands and tape it up to stop it running or I would of had no sleep with a constant running water

Check in took a while as reception was dealing with awkward customer on the phone. Room spacious and clean with ample power and usb points. Good shower. Reasonable menu although it seemed more limited than last year so when staying 4 nights this may be an issue. That being said plenty of other dining options within walking distance. Ample parking.

We stayed here a few years back and qere really happy with everything. This time the hotel seemed rundown. Paint is falling of the walls in places and it is not as clean. The place could do with an overhaul. The window in our room didn't close you could push it open. We had a Carvery in the restaurant which wasn't up to usual standard either.

Nice, clean, central.

For us, the hotel was a one night stopover before needing to be at the airport the next day. So, for that purpose it was serviceable. The rooms have a run down look to them. I’m guessing it’s an old building because it makes some odd noises. The faucet in the shower wouldn’t stop running all night. The hair dryer didn’t work and one of the outlets didn’t work. All that being said it’s a good value for a brief stay.

Great place to stay, very clean room and bathroom, nice price. Walkable distance to the coffee shops etc. Very nice and friendly staff, also help you no matter what the time is - I was checking in late at night. Great communication while contacting the help line of the property. Definitely would stay here again.
