The rooms are finished to a high standard. We had rooms with balcony and sea view and as the hotel is built on a steep hillside the views are spectacular. We particularly loved the Olimpo outdoor pool although there are two others to choos from. Also has its own private beach. Would recommend to any of my family and friends.

The hotel is very nice and it's on a hill. The view is great. The room is big and was very clean.
The only thing that wasn't good is the breakfast. The quality was very poor.

This hotel is up on a mountainside! Expedia told me it was 0.12 miles from Letojanni train station, which is why I chose it. IT IS NOT. However, they have a private tram that takes you up to the hotel from down by the train station/highway. It would have been helpful to know about this beforehand as it's very critical info. That said, the hotel has beautiful terraces everywhere and gorgeous views of the Sicilian coastline and the surrounding mountains. The pool and the terrace bar were both quite stunning. On the other hand, this hotel is set up to try to keep you spending money at the hotel. Why would anyone come to Sicily and eat dinner at the $18 hotel buffet when there are myriad local restaurants just down the mountain? Why did I have to pay a $10 "club fee" to use the pool, and then pay another $10 to rent a pool towel? Why does the hotel guide say there's a happy hour in the terrace bar from 5-8 p.m. but then when I got there none of the bartenders had ever heard of that? Unlike most of the other hotels I stayed at in Italy, which were small and family-run, this one was huge and corporate, and accordingly it often felt impersonal and kind of greedy.

Resort is easily accessible and has many facilities however everything except 1 resturant and the wellness center was shut during our stay which the listing does not warn about

The photos really sold this place to us. However, our stay wasn't quite like that. We booked this place hoping to relax at the pool and spa but of course, this is the only hotel we stayed at that still has its amenities closed because of "covid".
Anyway, without getting too political. We were disappointed that nothing was opened. Parking here is also really rough. The hotel is built on a huge hill and with sand literally everywhere, we did slide a bit. There isn't really a designated parking spot so everyone just kind of parks to the side of the building...again on the very steep hill.
The breakfast was great. That's about the best thing we experienced. Oh and there is a lift. Breakfast was warm and there were lots of options which was nice. We packed some snacks for the road as well. To get to breakfast we had to take a mountain tram (forgive me I forgot the real name) but we noticed it sometimes didn't work or would get STUCK when PEOPLE WERE IN IT. Which is a bit sketch but oh well so we took the 10 million stair up to breakfast. Guess it was a good workout just glad it wasn't raining.
Lastly, the room was alright. Felt a bit like a motel room. I'm sure it looks nicer when it isn't fall and gloomy through all the windows but the beds were eh and the sheets were bleh. We stayed in about 10 bnb/hotels during our trip and this didn't make the top of the list, unfortunately. We were glad we were only here for a night.
You also really need a car here.

Our stay was wonderful great service great location great food. We were very happy with our stay and the service we were given. The beach is not far from hotel and easy to find which is another plus. Bar and swimming pool could not have been better.

Not a 4* hotel. Nice views, but everything is rundown and cheap.

Very good value for money.
Winter time so outdoor pools etc could not be used. But hotel also has a spa with inside pool and a well equipped gym for those into that.
We (4 people) got a big room with a king size bed plus two separate sofa beds. Plenty of space. And a large balcony with fantastic view!
Breakfast included in price was ok, standard breakfast buffe but hot food (bacon, scrambled egg, sausage etc) not too exciting.

The hotel included a buffet dinner for free, very nice. The hotel is partly renovated and we stayed in the old part... the interior is old.

Absolutely stunning view from the room to Taormina bay. Superb location and panoramic position. Enormous terrace. Lovely sea-view pool area and a lot of entertainment all day long. All of the staff were friendly, professional and quick to accomodate. Beautiful private beach. However, the breakfast was fairly average. It could be better. Indoor pool and spa facilities subject to additional charge. Limited parking lots.

Have stayed at this hotel once before, 2004 and it’s sister hotel the Antares back in 2002. Can safely say the decor has stayed the same in in the Olimpo le Terrazze, It is dated but it is clean & staff were lovely. Breakfast was ok too, but it did get really busy at times & struggled to keep up with demand for food, cups & clean tables. But it’s the views and the panoramic lift that really makes this hotel, can’t get anywhere in a hurry. It is built into a hillside, so be prepared for lots & lots of steps & lifts. Really enjoyed the pools & the addition of jacuzzi tubs & other sunbathing terraces was a bonus. Didn’t stay for dinner in the restaurant but found the restaurants in Letojanni & Taormina to be great & not too expensive. The Antares has had a makeover so maybe the olimpo will too!

Our hotel room boasted the most amazing view toward Taormina, with it's beautiful balcony with archway entrance. Like the rest of Eastern Sicily, there was an elegance but slightly neglected feel to the place, with the odd cracked tile and incomplete plastering, but if anything, this added to the atmosphere of the place. It was great, with lovely local food served by locals in the hotel. Unfortunately, our lasting memory of the hotel, however, will be the two successive late night private functions held directly below our room with one eventually quietening down by just after 2am. The bass was so loud it actually vibrated our tiled floor! On request by 1.30pm on the second night, the music was turned down, noticeably, but still noticeably loud enough to prevent sleep despite earplugs. The poor kids didn't get much sleep either and this forced us to have two lazy days during our break instead of touring around the island as planned- we didn't feel safe to drive after so little sleep. The lady at reception promised me that there would be no more parties for the last two nights of our stay, which was the case and we were invited to change our room on the second night, which felt pointless when there were no further parties planned. So, in summary, I would definitely and wholeheartedly recommend this hotel, BUT, do not stay in room 3008 or numbers near this one, since the room is directly above the Party Room From Hell. PS I recorded the noise if anyone wants evidence.

We had a great time in Sicily, nice child friendly people, including the hotel staff.
The main gripe is with the hotel, or rather the room. Quite dated and needs some investment by the parent company to make it truly a 4 star.
Room
We asked for a family room, double bed: got a twin room with a sofa bed which has never been changed hence the springs were gone and too uncomfortable. As a consequence none of us had comfortable nights sleep as a 7 year old was with us. Reported it, no action. Shower: walk in but created mini floods on bathroom floor as the doors didn’t seal. Poor cleaners had to change all our soaking towels everyday. Breakfast: monotonous and marred by frequent breakdowns of the espresso machine: staff attitude take it or leave it.
Pool: nice. Indoor pool: nice but needs a bit of a refresh. Parking: on street on quite steep inclines. This is what the hotel mean by free parking.
Access to Letojanni: brilliant and the seafront was great with choices of restaurants. Take beach shoes as most of the beach around there were with stones. Hire a car- opens up most of what the East Coast has to offer.
Children with allergies: make sure you take a picture of a google translation: everyone was very understanding and accommodating to nut and egg allergy so this was never an issue, especially with ice cream!
Enjoy amazing watermelons this time of year.
We had a great break but all in all but would not chose this hotel again.

We booked this hotel because it was very reasonably priced. We had read some poor reviews and so were prepared for the worst - but we were so pleasantly surprised! The staff on reception were very pleasant indeed and upgraded us to a corner room with a sea view. Yes, the decor was a bit dated, but who’s looking at that when there are spectacular views of the sea, the town and the mountains?? The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. The food was good - plenty of choice. The pool and other facilities looked as though they would be really lovely in summer. The staff were friendly and helpful the whole time we were there. We didn’t want to leave! Loved it.

Taxi got lost finding the hotel as the road to the main entrance is not well sign posted and very steep but the climb was well worth it. The hotel is set spectacularly on the mountain side above another hotel and the two are linked by glass elevators. The views are amazing!

A very unusual and interesting part of Italy. Great food, wine, and history of ancient Greek colonies. Driving was reasonable making it easy to travel large distances. The autostrada to Syracuse from Catania is lovely.
