I loved the property, coffee and water on each floor is nice touch. I would have liked the restaurant to stay open later especially during move in week.

I booked this hotel for its location to Clemson U. I booked through hotels.com because the rate was $60 cheaper/night than if I had booked directly. That said, I wonder if they save certain rooms for people who do not book directly. The room was small and they seemed to not want to help as much with certain things such as a promised room ready notification, it never came, and storing items for an hour past check-out. I managed without their help, but when you pay top price, it would be a nice courtesy.

The Shepherd had a great vibe and beautiful decor. The staff went above and beyond in helping me before and during my stay. We loved Max in the bar. He was super friendly and poured us delicious wine. We enjoyed talking to him. It was quiet in my room and very pleasantly cool which is how I love it. I’d definitely stay there again.

Very upscale. Super close to everything

I’ll start by taking blame for making a reservation on the wrong two evenings. But I caught that a few days before I arrived and called the hotel and the person I spoke to at the front desk said it was fixed on their end and I needed to call Expedia to fix on their end, which I did & the person from Expedia even called the front desk to confirm the change in dates. When I arrived at the hotel, they did not have my second night. They did have the second night if I wanted to pay double. I went back on Expedia and booked it at a discount. More than what I originally had paid, but not as much as the front desk quoted me. What was worse as that they couldn’t figure out how to combine my reservation and wanted me to check out of the room at 11 and check into a new room at 4 PM the next day. Finally, a manager was involved and they allowed us to stay at the first room for a second night. I paid for a more expensive room And that would not be credited. The hotel is lovely is very well decorated. They could use an extra blanket in the bedroom but other than that it’s a very nice hotel. My real issue is that the front desk is run by students and I can’t blame them for any of it , the real concern is that management is not training them properly on how to handle issues other than a standard check in. A lot of time was wasted And each time there was an issue that needed to be fixed management wanted to train the student while I sat and waited. End story better training required.

Enjoyed our first stay here! Liked the close proximity to multiple places. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Very clean and felt safe.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights while my daughter was at a Summer Scholars program at Clemson and our experience was one of the best we’ve ever had at a hotel. Not only was the hotel gorgeous and clean, with amazing decor, and also a restaurant with incredible food, the people who work there are incredible and their customers service impeccable! They are all such lovely people and go above and beyond to ensure your experience is perfect. It was also quite the happening place where everyone in the area seemed to come for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Thank you Rick and everyone who was working while we were there, for making our experience so amazing! We will definitely stay again of back in the area.

We were on a five day Grad school tour for our daughter. This hotel, by far, was the best. From the valet to the front desk to the room. The kids running the valet were very professional and so kind to answer our area questions. The front desk was the same way that evening we checked in. The room was stunning. Such cute decor. The bedding was comfortable (The pillows could have been so much better, but at least the bed was nice). The hotel front desk held our luggage so we could attend meetings at the college. Once we got finished our tour, we went back to the hotel to gather our luggage. We forgot to check out the rooftop to see the town. We asked the front desk guy if we could run up there real quick to take some pictures before we got on the road, and he proceeded to tell me that it was not possible as we had already checked out. That did NOT sit well with me. WE just stayed the night?? Anyway, the gentleman that was changing out the trash at the time we asked, was so kind and stated he would take us up there for a few minutes. NOW THAT was customer service. He was so nice and took us up there and told us a bit about the time and the landmarks from the view. It ended the trip with excitement that this could be the place our daughter chooses to attend for her PHD. We appreciated his time. so to the gentleman that afternoon who said no, please ask him or whoever may ask next time, this could be a make or break for a family wanting to choose Clemson for their next home.
