We had such a wonderful stay here. Such a cute little home. Quiet and peaceful neighborhood. We loved the privacy. The home was very clean and comfortable. Loved the decor as well. I have one recommendation: just need one more blanket for the big bed. We stayed at several hotels/resorts on the Big Island and this was, by far, our favorite place. The nearby restaurants are close but limited in number so make a reservation. We really enjoyed the Kīlauea Lodge Restaurant-great service and food.

We spent most of our time exploring the Park, so weren't able to take full advantage of the swing on the lanai. Nice kitchen made it easy to cook breakfasts and dinner. A few ideas for improvement: We were only given 1 dish towel for the visit, so I would suggest that they supply a few more. We also needed the spare tp roll from a drawer next to the sink and it was wet, so possibly some leakage from the faucet? These are small things in the big picture, because you're in Hawaii!

So close to the national park and great place to stay. Has everything you need and really appreciated the folder of restaurant recommendations.

The full sized washer and drier were outside the house in a well-lighted and easily accessed closet. The frogs singing in the yard at night were very soothing and peaceful. Excellent dining in Volcano was a short drive away and it was just minutes to the entrance to Volcano National Park. The Volcano Winery was very close also (and really unusual and fun!) Mele Nai Getaway was a perfect home base to explore the area!

We stayed two nights and the home was just as advertised and spotless. It is very close to Volcano National Park. We were very happy to have a washer/dryer!. The bed swing is wonderful!

The main purpose of my family's trip to the Big Island was to visit Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. This property was nestled in a quiet neighborhood just minutes from the National Park entrance, which was perfect for us! The property manager was kind enough to have the housekeepers leave lights on for us as we were arriving well after dark ... and it was dark! One temporary confusion was a locked gate we didn't anticipate to drive onto the property. Fortunately, the code was the same as the house code, so we were able to gain entry. The description also mentioned a nonexistent carport. No big deal, but the check in information should probably be updated for future guests. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed and useful. There was even a coffee grinder! Toaster and toaster oven were available, but no oven and no dishwasher. Again, we didn't miss them, though. The BEST attribute of this house was the outdoor day bed suspended from the porch ceiling. We each enjoyed our time hanging out on it. Such a unique feature! The quiet of the neighborhood (aside from nature sounds) was very restorative. There was a wood stove in the living area which we attempted to use, but it seemed to be for decorative purpose only. Everything else in the house was in good working order. The only real negative was an intermittent odor which we attributed to probably being related to the damp climate. A great stay overall! Recommend!

The birds provided a beautiful sounds of music on the lanai in the morning sipping a hot beverage before leaving for the day, in the afternoon while eating a light lunch after a day of excursions and before hitting the road for the afternoon activities & in the evening while eating dinner the sound & feel of the breeze, the night's creature sounds was even soothing. Our Concierge was a delight & accommodated our needs & wants, the Housekeepers were excellent cleaners & orderly staff. The amenities were was perfect for making meals, washing clothes, entertainment section (tv, music & board games) was helpful, but peace & serenity was the call of the trip. Sleeping for 12 hours is unknown in Honolulu, so took advantage of it. 5 star plus! Mahalo nui & a hui hou! (Thanks a lot & see you again!)

This house is everything advertised! So close to the National Park!

Great location for visiting Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. We were able to beat the crowds traveling from other places on the island and go back in the evening after most visitors had left. Enjoyed the town of Volcano’s farmers market as well.

This was such a great little cottage. It was very clean, and the communication was fantastic. The property is just beautiful! It rained the entire 8 days we were there, a d was cold, so I suggest bringing rain gear and warm pajamas. The house has heaters and a fireplace. It was perfect and so cozy.

This adorable house was perfect for our Big Island getaway. We chose it for it's close proximity to the park entrance. Upon arrival the house was spotless. The kitchen was well stocked with all the tools needed to make delicious meals. The lanai is spacious with a dining table and hanging bed. (Unfortunately we visited during historic rains and didn't get to use the lanai much). There is a small wood stove in the living room that kept the house a cozy temperature. A couple things to note: There is NO dishwasher in the spacious kitchen. A sponge, dish soap and drying rack are provided. The laundry is located outside of the house in an attached closet. It's clean and tidy but you do have to cross a small grass area which was very soggy when we visited (again due to the rain). The house is on on a water catchment system, which most are on the island. The electric water pump sounds like it is located under or just to the rear of the house. It is fairly loud when it does run typically only lasting a few minutes but it can be jarring if someone flushes the toilet in the middle of the night. Easily solved by avoiding flushing at night. I think this wa s great place and we would definitely stay here again...hopefully during some dryer weather.

The host was communicative up through the check-in day, and although I did have questions with the check-in instructions, the host answered promptly and the instructions ended up being accurate.
