Reviewer Comments: After getting over the initial and what I assume will be a short-lived awkwardness about HOA restrictions (contact the property manager for more information), we found this rental to be almost perfect. We loved the location on the island, proximity and ease to get to the beach (literally out the back door and through a nice shaded maritime forest). And even on a busy Labor Day weekend, there was plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the beach and ocean. The unit itself was comfortable with a bathroom available for each bedroom. It was clean and beautifully decorated with some excellent artwork adorning the walls (shout out to the glass fish in the master bath!). Just be prepared for a bunch of steps to get up and down and a quite compact kitchen. We would have liked a larger dining room table but you can’t always get what you want as Mick Jagger said. But truly you get what you need at this wonderful unit. The property manager was awesome, and I just hope next time we could get some extra parking passes without additional cost. I would not hesitate to recommend this to others.

It's always hard to picture how large or small a space is in pictures and this did not disappointed. Everyone had their own bathroom and it was the perfect size for us even with a lot of rainy days. A lot of decks to enjoy and great views. Pool was large and they kept it clean even with all the debris from the storms. We would rent again! Heather, the property manager, was super nice and communicative.

If sun, splashing, relaxing , strolling,sandcastle building andfamily time is your idea of a beach vacation, then this is the place for you!

The temperature inside is great and each bedroom is wonderful for my husband and I and for the rest of my family! The kitchen area ia fine; we’re able to cook! We love having two refrigerators there because we have soo many soft drinks, water bottles and Freezer Pops, etc.

There were the perfect number of bedrooms and bathrooms and things were clean and tidy upon our arrival. Our favorite thing was the close and simple access to the beach - you don't have to take everything with you (such as food) because you can easily take the shady walkway back to the condo anytime. It was peaceful, we never heard one neighbor and the beach was more private than most (not crowded even during a holiday!). For 8 people we could have our own private spaces which was nice. I only wish there was a dining table big enough for all 8 - it only sat 6. And living room furniture as well - it only sat 5 or 6. Our only issues were with the water not being turned on (first guests of the season) and the ice maker being dirty (possibly related to the water issue) but our amazing property manager helped us out (thank you Heather!). Also we arrived a day after an electrical storm so did not have internet until Spectrum could get there 2 days later. Otherwise, perfect weather and great memories were made! We would DEFINITLEY stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay! The condo was very nice and well equipped. The property management was easy to work with and very helpful. The beach was wonderful, the pool was relaxing, and we had great weather! We will definitely stay at A Shore Gem again when we go back to the Pine Knoll Shores area!
