We loved this home. We have been to Hanalei a few times and thoroughly enjoyed this location. The home is maintained like a residence (rather than a rental). The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked and the beach towels, chairs and accessories were all of high quality and well thought out.

We really love the remote, non-touristy feel of this area. The house is tucked away in a jungle-like setting yet a close walk to the stunning beach (and Tunnels a little further). The house was spotless and everything we needed (and more) for six adults. I was aware there would be beach gear, but was surprised at the large amount available for all of us, including two surf boards and plenty of beach towels. It was quite hot for mid-October (high 80s), so the house was hot in the afternoon since there is no A/C (especially the two bedrooms facing the west), but we kept the ceiling fans running 24-7 and by early evening, it cooled down and was very pleasant for sleeping. The covered porch is the perfect hang out spot and we ate all of our meals there, too. We came prepared with ear plugs since the roosters start crowing early (sometimes 3:15 AM!), but I took them out because I actually like hearing them and all the sounds of nature. Overall, a wonderful house and location for tranquil R&R! Thank you!

The home is just wonderful with space for 3 couples to all have enough room to vacation comfortably. The porch is amazing - we ate all of our meals out there and could hardly see any evidence of other homes. You can see a bit of surf and can definitely hear it. The little jungle path to the beach is easy enough to take your coffee out to sit oceanside. The beautiful beaches close by aren't crowded and the water is swimmable. We loved being near the end of the road in Haena - it felt very special. Getting into small Hanalei is easy enough. We drove to the south island to do a snorkling tour and to see the Grand Canyon in one day which was great - but glad we stayed on the North end.

We loved our stay at Makana. The communication with the management team and their service was top notch! They were so helpful in any request/questions we had. The location was perfect for us, it’s isolated and more rural which is exactly what we were looking for. The home had everything we needed and was very clean upon arrival! They had extra of everything which came in handy with two little kids!

Excellent location, nicely furnished with well equipped kitchen, in a quiet neighborhood. We really appreciated the fact that we were able to move-in a bit earlier, and did not have to wait with our luggage in the car.

We absolutely loved our stay in Haena ! The house is amazing and has great spaces to hang out together— the kitchen, the family room and the awesome porch where we had coffee every morning!) The location of the house is perfect! Snorkeling at beautiful Tunnels Beach was our absolute favorite and it was so easy and quick to walk there on the jungle path. Haena State Park is less than 10 min away and we spent two days there ( hiking and Ke’e beach). We also made quick trips in to Hanalei for shave ice at Wishing Well! We hope to come back and stay again soon!

Haena is a true paradise and this vacation rental is very close to the beach. we will come back again.

Beautiful property and wonderful location to get away from it all. House had some minor issues, some of which were repaired, some not. Biggest issue was a partially clogged drain in second bedroom bath. It was repaired promptly. Several lights in house and in carport were inoperable. Some were repaired or replaced prior to our departure, some not. Remaining issues, not reported to management prior to departure, were partially clogged drain in right sink in master bath and missing window screen on lower vent on entrance porch. Challenge in finding places to eat out that served vegan or vegetarian faire. Overall, a wonderful stay in a fantastic house! Looking forward ro visiting again!

My family and I could not have had a better experience in Haena. The home was beautiful and well kept. Rooms were comfortable (bathrooms for everyone was awesome). Open concept living space was great and the large outdoor spaces were as good as it gets. With ocean views and mountain views with basically the most privacy out of any of the neighbors I don't know how it could be a better location. Either a short walk on the road to Tunnels (literally the most beautiful beach I've ever seen) or an even shorter walk through the beach jungle trail. You are paying a premium for this property but it was 100% worth it for what you get, a truly incredible experience in the most beautiful place we have all ever been.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house has everything you need for a great vacation. It was perfect for two couples. The kitchen was well stocked and the beach gear was great. The jungle setting with views to the ocean could not have been better. Although there was no AC, we were never too hot especially at night when the breeze and sound of the ocean waves lulled us to sleep. It's a quick walk through a jungle path to enjoy one of the best beaches in the world, Tunnels, which would have been a lot harder to access otherwise. Even when it rains, this house is great as the covered patio provides a great way to still enjoy the outdoors while staying dry. You feel like you are on the edge of the earth with most modern comforts only a short drive away. We would definitely stay again.

Had a great time staying in this property and would stay again! It was very clean upon arrival and was well appointed with plenty of dishes, appliances, and beach towels. We appreciated the quick walk through the backyard path to the beach, especially for watching sunrise and sunset! Tunnels beach was a quick walk down the beach which was fun and then we didn’t have to deal with parking which was a major plus. We enjoyed the beach gear that was available with the property including snorkel gear, chairs and an umbrella. As others have mentioned the roosters were up and crowing early in the morning but we were prepared with ear plugs and it didn’t bother us. There were some mosquitos the first night as it had rained all day but we didn’t notice them any of our other nights and it was very pleasant to sit on the porch and drink coffee in the morning.

It was not the original VRBO we had booked for our trip, but due to unforeseen circumstances our booked condo in Princeville was suddenly uninhabitable and Haena Place was quickly substituted. It was tons of room for our family of 4. It was clean and well maintained. The beautiful outdoor lanai was like our 2nd living room. There was so much thought into what would make guests comfortable and feel welcome including a beautiful bouquet of flowers on the table. We were worried that since we no longer had access to an outdoor pool that we might not be able to swim much. Little did we realize that we were several minutes walking to Tunnels Beach, a gorgeous stretch of sandy beach. We saw countless green sea turtles swimming and a monk seal basking in the sun. The surf was a little rough some days, but on the calmer days we snorkelled the reef close to shore. Our kids (8 & 10) took advantage of the boogie boards from the unit and played in the waves. It is a lifeguard patrolled beach so we felt a little safer and the lifeguards let us know which areas to avoid because of strong currents. In the end we didn't miss having a pool! Overall, we'd happily stay here again. The property management company was very quick to respond to questions and professional to deal with. Mahalo!!

Peaceful, secluded, roomy, great location!

This was our best stay in Hawaii and we have been coming here for thirty years. House is great. Short walk to deserted beach is the best. We will be back soon.

Location was quiet and stunning views of mountains on one side, beach and jungle on other sides. Very well stocked house. Spotless upon arrival. Easy walk to beach and tunnels beach for swimming and snorkeling. Close to Hanalei which was lovely. Perfect for family.

Awesome accommodations. Please discontinue saying 250 feet from coast. Its barely a small ocean horizon view from one chair on lanai. I also judge a ten minute walk down road with occasionally no shoulder then dirt road then path to beach. Once again house was beautiful!! I am a beach front person. My family and I owned a beach house for many years. I would love to recommend that owner might have an electric golf cart or even several beach cruiser bikes to convey happy customers to that lovely beach Tunnels. Overall a great stay just a bit back from beach

Stayed with family of five. Plenty of space to spread out and very comfortable. Easy drive to Haena park (need to reserve in advance). Walk to tunnels beach is about 10 minutes. Porch is great for relaxing. And yes, the roosters start at 3:30 am. My teenagers slept right through it but if you are a light sleeper, it might be a concern. It's worth it for the great location though.

If you love the beach or are a surfer, this is the perfect spot for you and your family! A lovely open home with a beautiful master with two accompanying bedrooms provide a place to relax after a day in the sun. It is so convenient to be in the middle of the various beach options and yet close to the town of Hanalei or Princeville. The team goes out of their way to make sure everything is as you need it.

Perfect spot! More beautiful than advertised. Loved ocean view from lanai. Nestled in a great area north shore. They thought of everything when putting this house together. Everyone had enough space/bathrooms while still allowing us to have great dinners and game nights. Can’t wait to come back.

Our second time renting this home. Great location, walk to Tunnels Beach, private deck, a slice of ocean view. Nice layout with comfortable furnishings. We will be back!

The home was very nice, clean and well stocked. The balcony was perfect for eating meals and you can see the ocean from it. The view of the mountains is also stunning! We traveled with young children so the garden was a great place for them to explore. The outdoor shower was nice to to rinse off after being at the beach. I would go back and stay again tomorrow if we could. Highly recommend.

Our visit was wonderful. The house was everything we expected making our visit comfortable and enjoyable. Be forewarned with the island inundated with free running chickens, the roosters crow at very unwelcome times! Due to no AC (though temps were comfortable) we could not close the windows. Earplugs recommended for better sleep!

Beautiful house in great location. Hop, skip and a jump from one of the best beach in Kauai- incredible snorkeling! Enjoyed the passing rain storms on the lanai with a glass of wine.

Our adult children joined us at this wonderful Tunnels Beach home to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary. We loved the home. The washing machine and dishwasher were broken, which made it a challenge, but Vacasa staff communicated these problems in advance, so we knew to bring extra clothes and understood the problems. We’d definitely come back for our next trip.

We love this house... the location is perfect on the best beach on the island! Three bedrooms and 3 baths are so nice, and a wonderful lanai with a view of the ocean!!
