We were totally at home in the property! Most of the time we were the only guests but never felt anything other than totally welcome. The house is fascinating, the gardens extensive and the pool area well maintained. An excellent experience. The home produced food was delicious. We loved having fresh strawberries from the garden!

Maybe it would be nice to offer a more informal menu and bar service outside the formal (delicious) meals? Outside peak season options are limited in the surrounding area

The restaurant is touted as being quite good, but none of the literature indicates that it is closed at least three days a week. Staff did not offer any other food facilities even though there is a take out pizza place two blocks away. arrival instructions are inadequate.

The staff was very personable. I really got the impression this is a "high end" place.... but, they made my "modest" family feel comfortable.

The weather was very hot - but, they don't have control over that. It was comfortable regardless.

Eclectic and spacious hotel. The room was newly renovated to a reasonably high standard.

The hotel is undergoing renovations and is not very busy which meant there was never any members of hotel staff around to ask questions. Until checkout we saw no one on reception. This meant we couldn’t access the wifi which was a crucial element of the booking to us as we needed to work but there was no one around to give us the wifi password (and it wasn’t recorded anywhere we could see). Because of the renovations the studio apartment was a bit dusty and the floors were quite dirty. The apartment was nicely renovated but missing some basic things. The kitchen was ok equipped with pots and pans and a brand new oven and hob but there were no utensils and very blunt knives. There were limited cleaning facilities. Only a used sponge, washing up liquid and one dishwasher tab. Nothing to clean spills or the bathroom and as we were self catering for three days there was no housekeeping so having this provided would have been useful. The pool was nice but there were no pool towels given - luckily we had some of our own but I think many people would not have.

We were the only guests in this hotel and the owner was kind enough to upgrade our room, which was ornately furnished with a large and comfortable bed and high ceilings. The toilet was modern and spacious and the water pressure was good! The breakfast the next morning was plentiful and excellent, with special mention to the homemade orange marmalade. The owner also allowed us to use the kitchen onsite at night when we needed to heat up a pizza since no restaurants were open in Cordes sur Ciel on a Wednesday night.

As the owner of the hotel also stayed on premises and we were the only guests, there was no one manning the reception so we had to knock on the owner's door whenever we needed any help. We also had to wait outside the hotel for 10 mins or so before anyone answered the door and allowed us in.

Love the home-made jams for breakfast! Convenient place for visiting Cordes and other local sights.
