The location of the property was good. Plenty of space in the house. The size of the master bedroom ensuite is very generous.

Could not access house on arrival day. Mobile number provided in booking info wasn't working. Key code not sent, had to contact Sykes. Key code eventually sent day after. Front door lock not working from outside. Used back door during stay. No towels in bedrooms/bathrooms. Found towels in a cupboard after having bought some! No hot water in the taps or shower on arrival. Eventually found a boiler in the garage and had to switch it on! Waste sink in kitchen blocked presumably because of a faulty grinder unit under the sink. The grinder was possibly dangerous. No kitchen sink plug or washing up bowl so we bought a bowl to make sink usable! No waste bin in kitchen so made do with a bin bag on the floor. 2 fridges but no freezer or freezer compartment in either fridge. Wasted a pack of ice cream bought prior to arrival because nowhere to store it. The Sykes Summary information says there is a “fridge/freezer” in the house. Kitchen cupboards were not clean. There was a very green mouldy loaf of bread and pitta bread in one cupboard so clearly not cleaned before our arrival. General cleanliness of the house could be much better, e.g. cupboards, showers, sinks etc. Only one bedside cabinet on one side of double beds and no bedside lights. Going to bed walking across a bedroom floor in the dark is not helpful. The garage area for the washer and dryer was uninviting, dirty and full of discarded rubbish. Certainly not somewhere to handle clean washing so we didn’t use this part of the property. Lack of a guest information pack apart from an A4 sheet with very basic strangely worded information. The price we paid for the 6 days in this house was extremely overpriced for the standard we experienced and certainly did not justify the high price of £1289, although most of this was due to the usual greedy exorbitant charges imposed on families during school holidays!
