Great hostel! Only thing is louldy bangig doors and music playing inside rooms from 9am until 10pm. Short walk away from Riverside and even shorter walk to botanical gardens and park.

Great location. Close to communication and central aktivities. Practical interior making a dorm feel private.

Had a very comfortable and convenient 4 day stay in female 4 bed ensuit room. Everything was great. Only issue I had was the noise coming from closing of doors out of other rooms with bangs and loud noises in the middle of the night other than that I had a lovely stay. I would highly recommend it.

Very modern and brand new interior with one of the best kitchens I’ve come across. Shared bathrooms were private for one person at a time which was nice. Twin room was very small with barely any room to put a backpack on the floor and the mattress kept sliding off the bed. My room was right next to an extractor pipe outside the window which was super loud - the room was too hot to have the window closed but too loud to have it open. The TV didn’t connect to anything and the room also didn’t have a bin which was annoying. The hostel feels very clinical and the least homely hostel I’ve ever been to. Large communal area feels like a train station waiting room and could do with more furniture / decoration. There was absolutely zero atmosphere so not good for solo travellers. Location was great but parking by the hostel is very expensive.

Hotel was very tidy, room a little cold but otherwise fine. Decent kitchen and off street parking was easy to find. Brilliant location and very handy to city centre and bars.

The shared bathroom was smelly and the room was hot. The staff members were friendly but it took time to call them as they are short in staff atm. Slow communication on website messages.

I love how quiet it was as a backpackers/hostel. Impressed with the bed that was surprisingly comfortable. It was my first time sleeping in a room with strangers so it was an enjoyable, unforgettable event that I chose to have and I’m glad I chose the right place. Only the guy at the bottom moved a lot in his sleep, shaking the bed every time it woke me up every now and then.

Thanks YHA CHCH. You folks are doing a lot of things right. I had a lovely stay and slept really well. The vibe was nice and my room mates were friendly. The female staff were consistently delightful and always willing to help. thanks! Generally really happy thank you for a wonderful stay.

Great budget accomodations. Had a private room which was clean and quiet and cozy. Staff were very helpful.

Used a private room. Room is spacious, bed is comfortable. Dinning place/ lounge can get a little crowded at dinner time. Some bathrooms are undergoing renovation, but finding a working one is of no problem. Hostel is close to all amenities.

One of my favourite hostels in New Zealand, great location, always clean, nice kitchen and utensils (plus they have coffee and plungers, extra point) rooms are in good condition, clean, friendly guests, independent and enough toilets and showers. Completely recomended. The only thing I would change is the heating in the lounge area, it’s always too warm (for me) but just that.

Overall a well kept YHA with appropriate facilities and beds. Some showers are not hot but some are okay.

very organized but very loud. i could hear the music from bedroom next door. good way to save money while traveling though. pretty good location also

Staffs are friendly, rooms are clean, good location, walking distance to tourist spots

2 adults and 2 children with 3 kings size bed, very comfortable

This is a very nice hotel. It is a youth hostel so be prepared to share accommodations (baths) which were often in use and sometimes we had to go to another part of the hotel to find an available bath. It was VERY clean and in a great part of town. The staff was very friendly and helpful
