The manager upgraded my room because she could see that i was not happy about being expected to pay 20% more than Booking.com had quoted as my total.
Pretty much the worst service of any hostel I've ever stayed in on Booking.com. Even in my 'upgraded' room he bed was as hard as a stack of bricks... but not so sturdy, because as soon as I sat on it a board fell out from underneath. When I returned later in the afternoon the hotel was locked up and there was nobody at reception. I rang the bell and knocked continously but it was at least 10 minutes before anyone answered the door to let me in. The next morning it took an hour for breakfast to be served and i missed my bus. Don't stay here!

Rosa was a wonderful host and we had a great stay. The breakfast was good and the place was quiet despite being a fairly busy street. I would definitely stay there again.
It was a little annoying to have to ring the bell every time to enter the place, but the plus side is that it is super secure.

Loved the general style of the hostel, very simple yet cosy and warm family style. Also loved the owners they were very sympathetic ! The included breakfast was delicious and of quality, especially the typical local fruits that I didn't know and tasted great. Can only recommend this place such a great value for the price you pay --> 10/10
WiFi was sometimes unstable, other times it was good, but can't complain for such affordable prices

the owner had lost our reservation but went out of her way to find a solution. She gave us a big room without private bathroom but compensated by providing free dinner. The food and breakfast were very good. Private parking, good location, good value for money.
That they lost the original reservation.

When I arrived at Hostel Jora. Continental, I wasn’t feeling well. A day later I was worse and the staff rushed the Doctor to see me. He gave me IV fluids. Rosa was always worried about me, not eating and they gave me another IV. I left 2 days later feeling better. NO Charge for the Doctor. I was treated like a family member. The food was excellent, the atmosphere quaint.

Rosa and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast with plenty of fresh fruit. Comfortable beds. Hot water. The entire place - rooms, lobby, restaurant - were exceptionally clean. The staff took extra precautions during COVID. The hotel is about 7 blocks from the parque central. A pleasant walk.
I hope to return to Cotacachi soon and will stay at the Jora Continental.

The showers are hot, the beds are comfortable, the staff is great and the hot chocolate for breakfast was an unexpected treat.
