Next time, we would consider bringing an air mattress for the bonus room (if your group does not want to share beds). We had no trouble parking 3 large cars. The location was unbeatable. Attention to every detail was evident from the moment we walked in The front door. It was an easy five minute walk to the ocean add five more minutes and we were in beautiful downtown Carmel. Once back at the property we enjoyed cocktails by the fire pit and later at night we enjoyed the hot tub.This was my fourth trip to the area in recent years and my first time at this location.. I will always choose this one in the future..

The home is so full of natural light, and an easy 5-7 minute walk to the beach and 20 minute walk to Carmel-by-the-Sea shopping and dining. The kitchen was well-appointed, the outdoor spaces were serene, and the beds were comfy. Only disappointment was the mildew around the hot tub and primary bath skylight.

I wanted to share our recent experience with this home and Sanctuary Rental Management during our stay from November 5-7, 2023. While the house itself had a great location and was charming, our overall impression was significantly dampened by several issues. The housekeeping, which was priced at $500, left much to be desired. Stains on the furniture and noticeable dust detracted from the overall appeal. Additionally, the garden fountain was non-functional. Despite Sanctuary’s effort to make an impression with a welcome gift of wine and cheese, the assistance promised during our stay was lacking when we needed it. My husband had a critical Zoom meeting, necessitating reliable high-speed internet. Although we were assured of an excellent connection before booking, the service failed. Attempts to seek assistance from the 24-hour service resulted in dealing with a rude representative and no resolution. Our departure presented further challenges. The strict 10:00 am check-out time was complicated by the internet issues. As we attempted to enjoy the morning, a landscape crew arrived an hour before departure, causing considerable noise and disruption. Our most frustrating experience was with customer service. After calling to express our concerns, promises of a refund and follow-up were made but never materialized. The office yielded excuses and delays, exemplifying an understaffing problem. As frequent VRBO users, our service experience with Sanctuary was among the worst.
