This was one of the worst check in experiences I have ever had. The check in associate was an intern and being trained. He inadvertently gave us false information. This can be expected from a trainee from time to time. However, the hotel staff, especially the front desk manager will not own up to the mistake that was made and is instead calling us liars.

We considered many hotel options in Amsterdam and landed on Banks Mansion due to location, ratings and provided amenities (included afternoon snacks, drinks, breakfast, etc). Location of hotel was great, providing easy walking to many attractions, bars and restaurants. Beds were comfortable, room was very spacious, toiletries had a lovely scent and staff were friendly. For us the mark was missed on cleanliness and general condition of the property. Carpet in our room had stains, there was something spilled down the inside of the bedroom door, bathroom grout was visibly dirty and the bathroom door handle plate had fingerprints/visible "stuff" on it. We went to breakfast our first morning, where our shoes stuck to the floor, which just didn't land well in an environment you're going to eat at. Additionally the living room area is quite small, and seats are limited during the afternoon/evening, so arrive early if you want to hang. Again, we really wanted to love everything about it, but just didn't meet expectations and would not stay again.

Another lovely stay at my favorite Amsterdam hotel. The friendly staff, good value, location, great breakfast and free cheese/wine/cocktails every evening all make me look forward to my next visit!

5-10 minute walk to everything. The hotel has an open bar with soda and Heineken beer. The rooms have plenty of room and the ac is perfect. Very quiet rooms. We would stay again.

Amazing location, very clean feels like it was just built, friendly staff except the weekend staff who questioned me about my status as a guest which did not make me feel so good and almost ruined my day. Loved their open bar/drinks policy!!

When we arrived we were told there was a wine bar in the reception living room from 4-12 a cheese bar was set up 5-6 and anything else we could think of was available 24-7 all complimentary! The shower was great the beds comfortable. Breakfast buffet was also included with eggs made to order! best hotel stay ever!

Five star experience. Awesome little perks, great staff who was amazingly polite and helpful. We stayed five nights comfortably. I'm definitely returning.

I stayed here because of all of the great reviews. It was a splurge for me on my last night in Amsterdam, and honestly, I was so disappointed. During check-in, I felt like I was imposing on the staff’s time. I didn’t get told about the cheese/wine service in the family room which should be a highlight. My room was small, had very well used furniture and some nasty, large stains on the curtains. When I returned from dinner, I spoke with another staff member who promptly offered me a new room, which was lovely and included large windows that opened onto the canal. It is a great location and has sound-proof windows, but in my opinion, it is not worth the premium price of a luxury hotel.

Thank you to Samir, Demetrius and Shafani at the front desk. They were very helpful with recommendations and helped us navigate the city. A friend recommended this hotel and I will pay it forward and recommend as well!

Very accomodating staff. Convenient location. Wonderful breakfast. Beautiful Frank Lloyd Wright inspired furnishings. My sister and I had a room with twin beds and my only criticism is that the box springs were too small for the mattresses causing an unsafe situation of the mattresses overhanging.
