The stay was decent for the location and price but the room was small.

Arrived at around 22:45. There was nobody at the reception, so had to wait about 5 minutes. I asked for a room situated so that I wouldn't need to carry my bags far, got one on the 2nd floor, but FAR AWAY from the lift. The room was on par with the worst boarding school room I had the pleasure to live in. Everything looked dated and almost dirty. Shameful for a Thon Hotel, which I chose because as (until now) my experience was always positive. The only saving grace was the bed, which was about 120cm wide and comfortable. The real let down was the bathroom. It was so small, that a slightly taller person could shower their feet while sitting on the toilet. Maybe it is desirable by busy business people, but it's ridiculous in my view. The actual COLD shower made me feel downright miserable. I mean ice cold water, after disbelieving it is possible and playing with the settings and letting the water run for good 5-6 minutes. I braved the cold, because I travelled 17 hours and felt in need of it. After an other 2-3 minutes the water became slightly lukewarm. That was all I got. If my room was not so remote and I was not as tired I would have asked for an other room. The worst was that the next day breakfast was so late, I could not have it before I had to travel on. I was not offered the alternative of a take away pack. Next time I opt for an other hotel for sure. I would like to add that I have higher education in the field of tourism and this was a disgraceful service.

What I liked most about my stay at the Thon Astoria was the location. Near the Central station, Karl Johans gate, and museums helped make my stay in Oslo so enjoyable. They have a wonderful breakfast too.

Nice breakfast and perfect location for sightseeing. Construction works on going nextdoor and started 6:30 in the morning!

I have stayed here several times as I feel Thin hotels offer good value for money and the Astoria is located close to the station so no lugging suitcases a great distance.
My own minor criticism is the bathrooms in all rooms that I have stayed in are very small - I could sit on the toilet, wash my hands in the sink and shower my feet at the same time it is so compact (in standard single rooms). That said, everything is clean and I’m only there to sleep and shower so it’s not a huge deal if you know to expect it. If you are larger than average build though you may struggle.

The rooms are quite small. I reserved a queen bed and it was not a queen bed. The bathroom is very small. The breakfast is good and the staff is nice. I think if I were by myself it would have been ok.

I was very disappointed that a room wasn't kept for me . I notified Hotels that i wouldn't arrive till after 9pm.
1very small room left, couldn't wash my hair in the tiny shower space, had to use the hand basin.
I have stayed here before and had a lovroom. Close to transport , shops, eateries.

Thon Astoria is awesome. We had a family room for four with the twin beds that fold out of the wall. Kids loved that. Cozy room but comfortable for our three night stay. Breakfast is simply the best. It’s the best hotel breakfast spread we have ever experienced anywhere for a no frills hotel. And the location is perfectly located, close to the center of the city and walking distance to most points of interest. Good pizza place and Indian restaurant right across the street. 5 minute walk central train station. It was great.

Although the beds were very comfortable, the rooms and beds are TINY. There was also super loud construction from 6am to 8pm every night. The staff was very accommodating as we did have to switch rooms once before we literally could not stand up straight it was so small.

Perfect location within walking distance of just about everything. Friendly helpful staff. Very small rooms and toilets. Noise starts at 5 am , construction in the area. Very expensive for what you get.

Massive construction going in that starts at 7 am and continues throughout the day!
Had blood on my duvet. Took three requests to get them to change! And they did so under protest!
Cleaners didn’t clean cups or refill coffee
No safe in room and no safe big enough for computer at front desk
Thin walls so I could hear people wheeling suitcases in an out at all hours.

Very conveniently located close to public transit, busses, trams and train station. Great breakfast included, one of the best I have seen. Rooms are clean but small and bathroom is tiny. Staff and very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

Horrible! First of all there is a major construction going on around the hotel. Since very early morning there was a major construction noise. Our room was tiny, hot and without the air conditioning. It was not possible to open the window as the noise was overwhelming especially because the room was overlooking the court echoing the construction noise even more.
It was most definitely the worst stay booked through hotels.com ever.
I feel that hotels.com should make their members aware of such situations.
However, I should point out that over all we were happy with our stays at Thon hotels throughout our trip.
