The worst part was the elevator. We had to use the service elevator because the normal one was broken. The service elevator didn’t function properly and one trip from the 9th Floor took 20 minutes. Long delays often occurred. No sanitary gel in the elevator. The staff never had change and couldn’t get any for drinks etc. The breakfast was boring! However, the the beds were good.

Location is great. Service was good. Beds are horrible. Little twin beds or full beds. Mattress are super uncomfortable. Very clean.

Very nice hotel. Staff very helpful at the small Business Center , and were willing to store my luggage for 12 days. Also called cabs and advised on area restaurants. We will return.

VilaRica is located just across the beach of Boa Viagem and offers acceptable rooms, some of them with sea view. I would recommend to pay the higher price for the suites with the end numbers 01. They count with a spectacular panoramic view of the beach - really unbeatable. It must be said, that the hotel would need some extensive renovation work to meet higher standards. The carpets outside the rooms are really shabby and the mattress of my bed has seen better times. The bathrooms although are spacious with a very good shower. In a suite with two minibars I would expect some napkins and of course more than just 1 drinking glass! The staff is friendly and helpful. Although the restaurant is not a very cozy place, the breakfast offers a decent variety of everything and tapiocas as well as egg dishes are prepared freshly. There is a small pool on the same floor like the restaurant with the view to the beach. The free wifi connection unfortunately is pretty poor.

This hotel is located as good as you can be located for your trip to Recife. I highly recommend the Ocean front rooms. All the employees are friendly and very helpful. There are many day trips and Catamaran excursions the hotel can arrange for very reasonable prices.

This a a good place to stay. The price is right. It's not a 4 or 5 star type hotel, but I'd give it 3 stars. The room was nice, the maid was nice, the breakfasts are good, the outside pool is nice, but could use some more lounge chairs. You can't beat the location - right on the beach. My only complaints were that the room didn't have 2 night stands near the bed - only one. We had to get the maid to get us a chair from somewhere to make a night stand out of it. A bit strange or cheap as far as I'm concerned. But the maid was nice about it. Our only other complaint happened one day when my wife's sister came to meet us for a day at the beach. She came to the desk, and this woman working there called us. We came down, and my wife asked if she could come up to our room while we got ready, and this nasty woman behind the desk said she couldn't come up to our room because she wasn't staying there. My wife complained to another male behind the desk, who said it was Ok. That was ridiculous. But maybe they have had a problem with people checking in for 2, and suddenly 3 or 4 are staying there. They should give out temporary passes, say for 2 hours if that is a problem. But to tell a visitor that they can't come up to the room was very wrong. And she was nasty about it. Other than the night table and this woman, I'd give this place a top rating.
