Terrible way finding signage. If you arrive after 4pm you have no chance of finding your way around. Impossible to find the reception. The details sent are incorrect as the reception area has changed. The breakfast rooms lacks any atmosphere and is quite simply, depressing.

The deluxe room was very tired looking holes in a dirty and threadbare carpet - unable to use bath or shower as the entry is very deep and even deeper getting out.
Room very clean tho - no instructions as to wifi or times of breakfast.
Charged an extortionate £50 for a small dog - one night!

This place is set in the most beautiful surroundings and the staff are wonderful, it was really clean and comfortable. The place has so much potential however am not sure I would go back at the moment. Our room decor really felt tired with a few things missing and certainly wouldn’t put it into the ‘luxury’ category, however the price bracket certainly is!

Misleading information on dining amenities. Lists with 2 restaurants open for all 3 meals. There was no indication that their main restaurant was closed and the other restaurant closed at 5 pm. I had to email to find this out. I would not have booked if I knew I could not eat or drink past 5 pm. The recommendation was a pub nearby. Threadbare carpets and fittings are from the 80’s, there are no USB points and no air conditioning. Fortunately the weather was cool but a hot summers day would be a different story. I would stay here again but a full modern refit would make it an amazing place to stay. Finally, for those with an electric car there is a charge point close to the rooms.

The bedroom was large, clean and comfortable. The lodge is a separate building from the clubhouse where tasty breakfast and evening meal were served. Thankfully, the weather was kind and the walk between both buildings pleasant. The staff were particularly friendly and welcoming.
