Awesome stay, wish I'd allowed for more time to enjoy Engen Hus! Very welcoming, clean and a gracious host. Highly recommended if you wanted to stay in the Salt Lake City area and have as a base to stay and come back to at the end of the day. Very convenient location if you're going skiing/boarding in either Little or Big Cottonwood Canyon's resorts. Much nicer than a lot of the hotel/motel options in the area, just make sure you have transportation covered as Engen Hus is in a residential neighborhood- not a negative, just something to be aware of.

Lovely accommodations and host. Lounged in the hot tub and garden with wine and snacks, so definitely a happy place. ❤️

the Engen Hus Bed & Breakfast is not only the best most highest recommended stay for comfort and convenience, It's also located in one of the best areas on the east side of Salt Lake. That make it the the perfect stay if you need to access down-town Salt Lake, because the eastern location allows one to access the fast back-routs so that you miss all of the morning traffic. It's location in one of the finer areas of Salt Lake, put it just the right spot to find the good diners and dives for lunch or dinner. That, along with its perfect situation close, but not too close to down town, makes the Engen Hus B&B my top pick for 2023.

Engen Hus is exceptionally charming and welcoming. It is a gorgeous house. The rooms are lovely, the communal areas inviting and cosy, the breakfast is delectable, and there are ample snacks and soft drinks on offer. The host is charming, friendly and accommodating. This is a truly lovely B&B. I’ll never stay anywhere else in SLC.

Esther is a wonderful host.I felt really at home there.The hot tub was really nice with powerful massage jets and the breakfast was amazing even though it was serve yourself the morning i was there(anything you could want)I loved the common areas too,great books to look at and some little games to play.Overall a great little getaway if you want somewhere quiet and cozy.Its a beautiful swiss style home and perfect for a ski trip or some time in the mountains....big cottonwood canyon is just right up the road.loved it.

Very nice house and property. Just wish they didn't keep the outside lights on in the backyard. The lights came into the room and made it difficult to fall asleep even with the shades drawn. Other than that, it was great.

The house is beautiful and has all the amenities you could want for a relaxing stay. The breakfast was delicious, and there is a huge supply of tea/coffee/other drink options available at any time. The rooms were comfortable and there were lots of cozy spots for sitting and reading. All in all, it felt like a wonderful home away from home!

This was for a little weekend getaway with my wife and Doug and Karen were wonderful hosts! The venue was quaint and delightful, the food and conversation more so. I would highly recommend Engen Hus B&B to anyone looking for a cozy, intimate getaway!

We recently stayed two nights with Doug and Karen in their B&B. Their spacious, historic home at the foot of the Wasatch is beautifully appointed and impeccably clean. The room was quiet and had a private bathroom with a large shower, a comfortable bed, TV and WiFi; we wanted for nothing. Doug and Karen went out of their way to make us feel welcome and coordinated schedules to accommodate their guests' from around the world and the accompanying jet lag. Doug and Karen provided a variety of breakfast offerings to tempt any palate. We enjoyed our conversations with our hosts and the other guests over breakfast. Doug and Karen are very knowledgeable about the area and provided excellent recommendations for dining and excursions. They are gracious hosts and their B&B is a lovely mix of private accommodations and fellowship. If our travels take us to SLC in the future we will definitely try and stay with Doug and Karen again. We cannot recommend this B&B highly enough.

This place is incredible. The owners, Karen and Doug, feel like lifelong friends after just one stay. It is a warm inviting space just far enough off the highway so you don’t hear it and close enough it does not take long to get back for your next day destination. Breakfast was incredible! If you talk to them beforehand about any allergies they do their best to make sure you can eat something. I will definitely be staying here again.

Our stay with our wonderful hosts was all we could have hoped. We wish we could have stayed longer. The personally prepared breakfast was delicious (and healthy). We have told so many friends about this little gem.
