We booked a 1-BR oceanfront unit weeks in advance, but when it came time to check in at 4 pm they did not have any such units available and tried to put us in a 2-BR oceanfront unit that was in the middle of lanai construction instead. This construction not only blocked half the view but meant workers would be there all day. We refused to accept the unit and asked to speak to a manager, but all managers had left for the day even though it was check-in time. They finally gave us a lower category unit 2 hours later and said they would give us a price credit the next day, but one week later they have yet to process the credit. This is the worst hotel experience I've had in many years of active traveling.

Great location and view from balcony. Concierge, Elise, was so helpful. Visit Maui, they need tourists to help them recover.

Great property. Not brand new but updated. Everything clean. We had two bedroom ocean front so the view was stunning. Great family vacation.

This was a fantastic property...close to absolutely everything. The staff was friendly and the entire property well groomed. Would definitely recommend.!!!

The place we rented was very nice. It was better than I expected since the write up said studio. We ended up with a one full bedroom with 2 full baths. Unfortunately, Lahaina area has not really come back, it made food options limited. We ended up going to the grocery store or fast food instead of restaurants. That was disappointing but the overall area/accommodations were nice. I’d try a different island next time or another area on Maui for those reasons.

The property fronts a very beautiful beach. It’s very close to shopping and restaurants and is very well maintained. Excellent concierge services too, helping to arrange several activities for us. We really enjoyed our stay there.

The property was amazing and gorgeous. Staff so friendly and welcoming. The room was beautifully decorated Omg! The bed and view wete phenomenal. Definitely coming back!

The condo we were in was magnificent. The entire property was very clean and maintained. The only complaint was the pool towel situation. You are only allowed one towel. I like to have two - one to lay on and one to dry off with. Chair rental for the beach seemed expensive.

Very old and dated. Ceilings in bathroom were coming dow and pipes were visible. Baseboards were old not flush with wood work, huge cockroach from our towels sitting in the bathroom sink was in our room the second day. We were moved to another room and although it was nicer it still had the same dirty feel from the 1960’s ceilings and trim. The pool was hot, small, crowded, not refreshing at all. The front desk people and towel/beach employees were all very lovely. If it wasn’t for them I would have moved to a different property.

We loved this property so much, cannot wait to go back. We stayed in a Stunning 2 bed 2 bath ocean view and i was so much more than we were expecting. the staff is so attentive and friendly. The property is beach front, super close to black rock and close to so many dining options. This will be our go to stay when coming to Maui.

The condo was amazing! We booked well in advance and got an excellent price. Our unit had a wrap around balcony with an ocean view. Front desk staff were professional and courteous. I can't wait to go back! Booked another trip to The Whaler while we were still on the trip.

We had a fabulous time at the Whaler. Dexter was terrific and upgraded us to an ocean front room which was excellent. The unit was clean, beautiful, and quiet. The area was walkable to many options. We had the best vacation, thank you whaler.
