The apartment is situated at the top of a lovely old house in the old town part of Cannero Riviera, with wonderful italian charm. You enter through an iron gate, then up a tight flight of stairs which is covered but located outside of the house past a few cacti and other plants. Arrived at the top level you enter a perfectly renovated and modernized apartment which apparently the owner did himself. There is an induction stove with 4 hotplates, a fridge, freezer, microwave and even a capsule coffee machine that produces surprisingly good cappucchino. The apartment features both dish washer and wash machine, everything is super modern and clean and there are pans, cutlery and other dinnerware on site to actually eat and cook (though the pans are already rather scratched). There is not a lot of space in the kitchen as it also features a couch and flat screen including netflix but just enough for two persons. The WiFi was flawless. The bedroom and bed are spacious with sufficient power outlets. Covers and blankets for different temperatures are available though that can anyway be adjusted through the AC which worked flawlessly. Even more spacious though is the bathroom which is super modern. The shower features both handheld and rain shower heads. Towels and a hair dryer were provided. The apartment also features an iron and board. Fabrizio, the owner, was already waiting for us at the parking lot with the key when we arrived and came along to show us around. Since we were in a traffic jam at San Gottardo and he told us to call him only at arrival, I'm still wondering if he's been waiting there for a while or if that was just by incident. If he had been waiting, he didn't make us aware as he was super friendly. He was also super responsive when we needed help during our stay.

There's not much bad to say about the apartment really. The only thing missing to get a perfect rating would be a little more space to eat, especially on the balcony which faces to the courtyard. You can only see the lake if you move and stand up or through the window in the kitchen. We did have issues with the remote of the gate to the parking lot. I wouldn't be suprised at all if this issue has been fixed in the mean time though.
