Perché venire a Praia d'el Rey? È bella! Tranquillo, calmo! Il vero Portogallo! Salutare! Uno dei migliori campi da golf in Europa (Praia d'el Rey), oltre al già famoso campo West Cliffs mozzafiato e altri due campi di altissima qualità in dieci minuti di guida. Alcuni dei migliori surf del mondo (Google "Supertubos"). Vino e frutti di mare deliziosi economici. Spiagge gloriose. Gente amichevole.
Praia D’El Rey è il resort per il golf e il tempo libero leader in Europa (World Travel Awards 2009) e il principale resort di golf del Portogallo 2011 (World Travel Awards). La regione (Costa d'Argento) ha meravigliosi siti del patrimonio portoghese (ad esempio Obidos, Alcobaça, Sintra), splendide spiagge dorate, deliziosi ristoranti di pesce e vino locale e una natura meravigliosa. Il resort dispone di 6 campi da tennis e di pullman disponibili.
Il mio posto è una grande casa nuova, con un balcone da ogni stanza. La proprietà è al secondo piano (uno sopra da terra). Di fronte c'è un parcheggio. Giardini e piscina perfettamente curati circondano l'appartamento. Wifi gratis.
Il resort Praia D’El Rey occupa una posizione invidiabile sulla costa atlantica, con splendide spiagge per il surf, dune di sabbia, splendide pinete e numerose attività sportive e ricreative. La zona è molto meno affollata dell'Algarve, quindi puoi goderti le vacanze con meno stress.
Il resort di 600 acri si trova a 1 ora in auto a nord dell'aeroporto di Lisbona, sull'autostrada A8. Si trova a ovest della città fortezza medievale di Óbidos e vicino al pittoresco villaggio di pescatori di Peniche. Al largo si trovano le isole Berlenga designate come riserva naturale nazionale.
Le attività includono golf, tennis, surf, nuoto, passeggiate, vela, ciclismo, pesca, equitazione, immersioni e wind-surf.

Awesome apartment in an awesome complex!
Quiet and beautiful apartment in a quiet complex. Beautiful beach and gold course! We stayed 4 nights and had a great time. The owner is wonderful and easy to work with.
House has plenty of dishes and kitchen gadgets to make a meal. Beds are SUPER comfortable! The bathtub is AMAZING! Parking is plentiful. Pool was clean and the water was very comfortable. We liked it so much we actually extended our stay. I recommend this home and location for anyone looking to relax or do touristy things. Super close to Obidos / Peniche / Baleal. Definitely worth staying!

A lovely, spacious base to stay with a great pool
We loved the apartment and had a great time. Once we got used to the regular sea mist we adjusted our plans accordingly. During our stay out of 14 days we were there four of them were sunny all day in Praia Del Rey and we enjoyed the pool during those days and went down to the lovely beach for walks. On the other days, which were very misty in the mornings, we went out to local monasteries in Alcobaça, Batalha and Tomar, palaces in Lisbon and Sintra and Fatima, Nazaré and Caldas da Rainhas to enjoy the amazing history and culture in 23-27 degrees heat and sun. We only ate out in Lisbon and Obidos because we're not really into fish restaurants but the meals were very good and inexpensive . Lisbon was lovely especially Almafa and Baixa Chaido We loved the local eucalyptus and tea trees and broke the leaves to take in the aromas. We liked the peaceful atmosphere Portugal offers and the people are friendly. Óbidos was our favourite place with the combination of town walls and charming curio shops but Sintra came a close second with the amazing royal palace and stunning views.
We hadn't realised that the dehumidifier would be needed so much and it was a bit loud. The Wi-Fi was variable and only worked for half of the days we were there partly because the whole cable into the block blew after our first week and took 3 days to repair. But before this it was hit and miss with the connection.
We had a lucky escape when the lock on the front door seized up and we couldn't get back into the flat. Fortunately it was the day before we were due to return. Luckily my son left his balcony door slightly open and the Holiday Portugal repair man climbed up the extendable ladder and got in that way. The lock had to be replaced. This could have affected us badly if it had happened at a different time of day or on the morning of our departure.
We liked the well stocked kitchen and the massive space in the flat. The main balcony was great to have breakfast on. The local flowers were attractive. My daughter had problems with the soft mattress but it was ok in the end.
My wife appappreciated the quality bedding. She also enjoyed walking around the resort.
We had to remind the HP office to get the cleaners in our flat on the second Monday as they had not organised this. They should have done so as per the agreement without us prompting them. The Praia beach and waves were dramatic and wonderful.
Overall we really enjoyed ourselves and it was a great base for our holiday.

Very good - exactly as described.
The apartment was exactly as described which is always a good start. The area is a little quiet, which is exactly what we want - we have been before. It would be easy to spend all of your time on the resort, but venturing out finds much wider opportunities for dining in local restaurants and we have never been disappointed. The two golf courses on Praia D'el Rei, and nearby Royal Obidos, are all stunning in their own way, and alone are worth the trip.
If you want a quiet relaxing time with some top quality golf thrown in, this is as good a venue as I have found anywhere. Thoroughly recommended.

Stunning Atlantic coast setting with outstanding golf
We spent 3 days playing golf in the area. Lovely comfortable apartment, good local restaurants and some seriously good courses. The apartment is in a good, quiet setting and has a great heated outdoor pool which we had almost exclusively to ourselves in mid-May!

Quiet and comfortable
The appartament was as described, large, comfortable with all the amenities needed. Huge living room and 2 bathrooms were perfect for our large family.
The swimming pool was really nice and warm, although after 5.30 p.m. it was already in the shadow.
The resort beach is a long walk away, so you definitely need a car to move around. The beach is dramatically beautiful but the waves are too big to swim. If you go with kids it better to visit Baleal which is 20 min away by car.
If you seek a quiet and not too hot area to relax, it is a perfect place :)
Avarage temperature in August was 21 degrees, with morning mist until 12-1 pm.
Rod was very helpful with all our questions, also the property manager reacted really fast when we needed help with TV.

Spacious, comfortable apartment
Six of us (ages 13-52) had a very comfortable stay at Rod's apartment in Praia D'el Rey. Check-in with the property management company was easy even though we arrived later in the evening. The apartment was clean and the lounge/dining area was even bigger than it looked in the photos. We most appreciated the blackout blinds so that the sun didn't wake us up. The wifi was easy to access and more than fast enough for my needs. I think my 4 children pushed it to its limits if they were all trying to stream videos. My only (minor) complaint was that with tile floors, a big space, and only one rug, it could get loud in the main gathering area.
Within the resort, the apartment was located close to the entrance and to the Clubhouse. The Marriott was a little further away but just a 5 minute drive. The Beach Village (mini-market, gelateria, etc.) was further away with a 10 minute drive. The beach was uncrowded with spectacular waves and gorgeous fine sand. You need a car to really enjoy the area. There were plenty of restaurants, on and off the resort. The binder provided in the apartment listed a lot of local information as well.
Overall, it was a great stay, and we would highly recommend!

Lovely apartment, great pool, family friendly
We were impressed by the quality of the apartment, it was nicely decorated and had all the promised amenities. The pool was fantastic for the kids and very close by. The location was good within easy distance by car to some lovely family friendly beaches and tourist sites. We had a thoroughly nice holiday here and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Great apartment, lovely resort, gorgeous region.
Beautifully equipped & situated, we were thrilled with Rod's apartment & the Silver Coast. When renting apartments for 6 in the past, we'd usually arrive & think, "hate to be squeezed in here in a group of 6". That was definitely not the case here; it was fantastic.
All 3 bedrooms are generous, the living/dining area huge & the kitchen spacious. Every room has a balcony except the bathrooms & the hall. The property has all you need & also has comprehensive info on supermarkets, restaurants, etc.
The wifi was quicker than mine. The tv had BBC1, 2, 4, ITV & all the news channels you'd get on a Sky package, as well as many local & international channels. We discovered that Portugal has indeed Got Talent.
We stayed late Summer; it was quieter in the resort than high season, I guess, but it meant that the pool was a private pool half the time. It's properly deep at one end (appreciated by swimmers), but plenty of shallow & also a waist deep shelf all the way around. Lots of sun-loungers.
The immediate surrounds were silent at night. It was a 2 minute drive to the clubhouse or the hotel. We only frequented the clubhouse, finding the two menus more than enough on our too-lazy-to-cook-or-drive nights. Take away menu too. People there (& throughout the region) were noticeably friendly, more so than the Algarve of which we are also fond.
The beach at the far end of the resort is endless, dramatically picturesque, backing onto low crumbling cliffs. It's lifeguarded, which meant I couldn't risk my life in the huge waves as the red flag was up. You'll find somewhere swimmable on one of Baleal's two beaches. Baleal is 15 mins away, dotey & seductively relaxed, we adored it. Surfing opportunities are everywhere too.
Google pics of Obidos & pick your favourite; it will still not come up to the loveliness of that town. We walked every lane and I walked all the ramparts (a bit hairy!) but we are left with the realisation that our photos just don't do it justice now. Be sure to have some Ginja in a chocolate cup (everywhere). We had a particularly memorable meal in Petrarum Domus, not least because we had to get a bridge to our table upstairs; so charming. We didn't have a bad meal out in about 20 attempts on this holiday. Obidos is a casual 20 minute drive away.
You will need a car unless staying solely on the resort. So much to see and do; can't fit half of it here.
We'll be back next year, so we'll tell you the other half then!

O resort é muito limpo, tranquilo e cheio de verde. O apartamento é luminoso, espaçoso e muito limpo. A piscina é muito agradável e os jardins estão perfeitamente cuidados.
Passámos uns dias realmente revigorantes.
O contacto com o proprietário é muito fácil e as suas respostas são muito rápidas.
Já resolvemos vamos voltar nas próximas férias por um período mais alargado.

A lovely quiet place perfect for a family holiday
The appartment totally corresponded to our expectations and to the description given by the host. Everything was very clean and well taken care of and all necessary information wa given before the stay. Support on location very good. I would defenitly recommend this property to a friend or relative. The resort where this appartment is located is wonderful and there is plenty to do and discover in the region

Endroit magnifique et paisible
Nous sommes ravis de notre séjour à Praia Del Rey. L'appartement est spacieux, et très confortable. Le "resort " est magnifique, très propre, belle piscine, terrain de tennis, terrain de jeux pour enfants sans oublié un magnifique golf avec des tarifs très corrects. De belles plages de sable fin sur des kilomètres. Contact facile avec le propriètaire, répond rapidement à toutes vos questions. Bon point de départ pour visiter le centre historique du Portugal.
Nous n'hésiterons pas à revenir. Un endroit à découvrir.

Very confortable apartment, with Wi-Fi
The apartment is very good, with three nice rooms and 2 WC. Lots of space and light in the living-room and in the kitchen. The house is very well equipped. It has everything we need. A balcony is perfect for meals outside. It was perfectly clean. Internet is perfect . The beach is at a walkable distance (15 min) but it is important to have a car to go to the supermarket, restaurants and to visit the wonderful places and monuments nearby. Clearly, a good value for money.

The apartment is clean, spacious and comfortable. Beach is beautiful and relatively quiet. Enjoyed sunset very much. Parking close at the beach was no problem.

We (all familly) really had a good time. The apartment, the pool and all the resort environment were very nice. The residence service and maid service were very good too.

Perfect summerholidays
We were in July 2012 for two weeks in this great apartment. It was very nice and clean, a lot of place. The cleaning was really good. For shopping we had to drive about 20 minutes to the next town, a little shop in the resort are only for a few thinks you have forgotten. There is a perfect guarded beach at the resort, you can walk through. The weaves are wonderful, for swimming is the pool at the apartments recommended. We enjoyed tennis lessons and for breakfast the balcony. Another really nice place was a surflocation, with the car 30 minutes to drive, in Foz de Arelho.
The contact with the owner was easy, no problems.

Wonderfull summer vacation at Praia del Rey
We had a very nice two weeks stay at Praia del Rey. It was very easy to find the location and accomodation was well prepared. We found the property in a clean and well-maintained condition. It was very nice that three was some wine, bread, fruits, milk and water prepared for us.
There is a small shop in walking distance. For the super market is a 15 Minute distance by car.
Everything needed was in the appartement. The boys realy enjoyed the pool as the Atlantic on the local beach was nice for bathing but too wild for swimming.
There are a lot of possibilities for activities, we had a lot of fun with surf courses and paddle board. But also nice trips in the surrounding areas. Interesting cities: Lisbon, Obidos, Sintra, Alcobaca, Queluz, Santarem... and nice landscapes: Deer Park in Mafra, Obidos Lagoon, ...
People were all very friendly and helpfull.
We found that there are so many things to discover that we really plan to come back.

Fantastic time in Portugal
We had a fantastic time in Portugal. Everything was fine: the weather, the beaches, the little towns around Praia d'el Rey and of course the apartment with its large pool. The service was very good and everything worked well.

Nice week in Praia d'el Rey
We spent a nice week at this apartment. Every child had his own room and also the second bathroom was good. It was clean und the cleaning lady came twice the week. We were pleased that there was some food in the apartment when we arrived.
The pool was nice, too, but you have to do a walk to the beach.
You need a rental car. Then you can do a lot of trips (for example Lisboa, Sintra, Cabo da Roca, Óbidos, Nazaré, Fatima).

Luxury close to beach and picturesque villages
We simply loved our stay at this appartment, which felt like staying in a five star hotel - it had functional and modern appliances, and rooms were nicely appointed, each with their own private balcony (!).
The single beds were small though comfortable, and could be joined to make a double bed (be careful not to fall in the crack, however). The maid service was efficient - coming twice during the week to clean up and change bedding/towels.
The appartment is very close to a nice pool and a mini market which was great to get milk and some "basic" gourmet products (such as Hagen-Daaz!).
The resort itself is rather spectacular, with an award-winning golf course (too bad we don't play!), 5-star Mariott hotel (with pool, spa, etc.) and an amazing beach (though the latter is supervised, waves can be strong - so be careful).
You need a rental car to take advantage of what this property has to offer (rental cars are available from the Marriott, with cheaper prices than those from the airport!).
If you don't feel like driving to Lisbon or Porto, there are several nice villages to visit close by, all within 30 minutes of driving time - Peniche, Nazare, Obidos, Alcobaca, Sao Martinho de Porto, etc. Take the local roads if you have the time - they are well maintained, signage is fine, and scenery is great.
We would hapily return to this property - which hopefully says it all !!!
