A proposito di questa casastruttura in affitto
Welcome to our artists stone cabin retreat, just 10 minutes from downtown! Redone by a local architect, artist, and craftsman, this cozy home is located at the end of a dead-end road, bordering a state park and surrounded by mature native forest. On the secluded property, you’ll find a sauna, cedar soaking tub, abundant wildlife, and equipped house featuring local artists and modern amenities. Enjoy even more nature with direct bike and walk access to the entire Galbraith trail network & more!
The space
Although totally secluded in nature, it is only:
10 minutes from downtown central Bellingham
7 minutes from Whole Foods & the I-5 onramp
0 minutes from the Galbraith Trails (bike/hike in & out)
4 minutes from Lake Whatcom (Bloedel Donovan Park)
3 minutes from Whatcom Falls Park (trails/waterfall/park)
This space is an idyllic adventure pad and healing retreat spot for a couple or individual, featuring a 100% natural latex/wool king-sized bed. The full-length couch comfortably sleeps one adult, offering you a bit of flexibility if you'd like to bring along your child or another guest. It is a studio-style one-bedroom, so please note there is no door or fully enclosed room separating the sleeping and living areas; however, the partition walls, walk-in closet, and layout are designed to provide ample privacy and a spacious feel in this small open-concept home.
This rustic mid-century craftsman home provides a private and peaceful setting at the end of a gravel driveway, adjacent to Ted Edwards State Park. Upon arrival, guests will find five private parking spots with EV charging. A short gravel pathway leads to the rustic stone-walled exterior, surrounded by trees and native landscaping.
Inside, the house features an open studio-style layout. The entryway opens into the kitchen, dining, and living areas, all designed to maximize natural light. The kitchen includes modern appliances, such as a Fisher & Paykel fridge, Dishwasher, Breville espresso machine, custom white oak cabinetry, lime-plaster walls, and exposed concrete floors. A wood-burning stove provides ambiance and warmth, while a mini-split system offers both heating and cooling.
A partition wall separates the king-sized bed from the main living space, offering privacy while maintaining an open feel. Toward the back of the home is a large plastered wall bathroom with brand new laundry facilities, as well as a walk-in closet with a full-sized mirror and changing area. The home is finished with artistic details and custom craftsmanship throughout.
Outside, the property includes a fully equipped bathhouse with a cedar hot/cold tub and a 4-person electric sauna, situated next to a small creek that runs in the winter. For outdoor meals, there’s a picnic table, a charcoal grill, and a gas-fired Ooni pizza oven.
Large picture windows throughout the house offer views of the surrounding forest, where deer are often spotted. The home comfortably accommodates guests while providing an intimate, relaxing environment.
Please note, we do not offer a TV— we encourage you to relax in the sauna and enjoy music on the Bluetooth speaker provided :)
Guest access
The whole space/property is yours during your stay! Nobody else will be on the property nor have access to the sauna/bathhouse during your stay. No visible neighbours/houses can be seen from inside the house/most of the property. We hope you enjoy the privacy!
Other things to note
The original house was built in the '70s by Ted Edward, who, according to the story, hand-hauled many rounds of Nook-sack Riverstone in his VW van to the property and constructed the house stone by stone. The state park that borders the property was donated by Ted, making it feel almost like an extension of the land. You'll see how beautiful and unique the property is when you drive up the gravel road and find the stone house sitting above the park. We have maintained many of the old rustic charms, leaving certain aspects untouched. Along with the modern & artistic finishes, you’ll also find cracks in the exposed floor, old discolored oak trim, and layers of paint on the exterior wood. The combination of old and new creates a very unique and authentic vibe, which we hope you appreciate as much as we do.
You will find many local artist featured in the home: Pottery, paintings, and sculpters.
