Welcome to Windward House, a Mediterranean-inspired Folly Island retreat where coastal living meets refined luxury. This spacious five-bedroom, 4.5-custom-bathroom home offers the ultimate getaway, with thoughtful design elements and plenty of room for family and friends to unwind. Just a short walk from the beach and minutes from the vibrant dining scene on Center Street, Windward House provides the perfect balance of relaxation and convenience.
The property boasts layers of outdoor spaces, including a saltwater heated pool (available outside of January and February) surrounded by spacious lounge decks, a shaded seating area, and a grill for poolside dining. Enjoy endless fun with an array of outdoor games like Cornhole, ladder ball, spike ball, and more. The breezy porches, complete with rocking chairs, invite you to sip your morning coffee while taking in peaceful sunrises or relax with a glass of wine at sunset.
Inside, the home exudes coastal Mediterranean charm, featuring custom European Oak hardwood floors, warm wood tones, terracotta tile, and ocean-inspired hues of aqua and patina. The open-plan main level includes a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, a dining table with seating for 12, and a living room with board games and a TV, perfect for casual nights in.
The bedrooms offer flexibility for groups, with a luxurious primary suite on the top floor featuring a spa-like ensuite bathroom. There are two additional king bedrooms, each with its own ensuite, a queen bedroom on the main level, and a bunk room with four twin beds for the kids. Vintage sailing books, nautical décor, and postcards from the 1940s and 50s give the space a touch of Folly Beach history, adding to its unique charm.
Folly is very easy to navigate on foot, by bike, or by car! This property is just a 8-minute walk or a 2-minute drive to the public beach access. On the way to the beach make sure to stop by Bert’s Market to load up on beach snacks, or get an Ocean Potion from Loggerhead’s Beach Grill. If you ever have your fill of the beach life, Historic Downtown Charleston is just a 20-minute drive away!

Enjoy 6 miles of beaches, surfing, kayaking, boating, and endless sunset views. Beautiful Morris Island is a great spot to take in the sea life and panoramic views. Take a stroll down Center Street in Downtown Folly, which boasts tons of eclectic bars and restaurants that are fun for the whole family.

- Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in this home. If undisclosed pets are brought into the home without AvantStay's approval, there is a fine of $500 per pet.
- Please note that the pool is heated September through December unless the temperature drops below 50 degrees at which point it is only heated for guests booking weekend stays not including stays in January or February. Should you be a weekday guest during those drops in temperature, the pool can be heated upon request and for an additional fee. Please inquire and we’d be more than happy to help make the arrangements. The pool heater will not be offered during the months of January & February.

- Two covered parking spaces and ample driveway space are available.
Accidental Damage Protection: A non-refundable accidental damage protection plan has been included in the price of your reservation. Under this plan, you will not be held responsible to pay for accidental damage or loss to the rental property resulting from you or others in your party up to $2000. This plan does not cover intentional acts of a guest, gross negligence, or willful and wanton conduct, and/or damages caused by pets. This plan is not available for reservations 28 days or longer or reservations that require a security deposit.
This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.
As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.
Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees.
There is nothing more important to us at AvantStay than the health, safety, and experience of our guests & staff. We've enhanced our cleaning and sanitation protocols and are taking extra care to disinfect all surfaces between reservations with hospital-grade disinfecting solutions.
As a reminder, we do work with 3rd party vendors to maintain the property, and although we adhere to the strictest CDC guidelines and advise all contractors to wear PPE equipment, we can not always enforce. We strongly advise guests to please deny access if any vendors fail to meet and adhere to these standards.
IDs will be requested for verification after booking. All bookings over 28 days require a security deposit.
