The coffee that was provided in the room was good, and staff provided us with complimentary vouchers at the attached Denny's due to the renovations.
Another hotel where closed facilities or deficiencies aren't mentioned before you actually check in. We were looking forward to having a pool to cool off in after a day of bike riding, only to find it was closed due to renovations. Worse yet, our room looked onto the courtyard/atrium where the indoor pool was located, so we were awoken at 8:30am by jack-hammering. Very limited natural light is available for those rooms. The hotel attempted to make up for the inconvenience with food vouchers, but that would be the least expected. A drastic reduction in the room rate would have been better.
The room was comfortable enough, but only had one mirror (in the bathroom) and was old and poorly painted/wallpapered. The toilet had a leak around the base and we found two empty yogurt containers in the room garbage, so not well cleaned.

The staff was super nice.
It is quite old and worn. The rooms were super small and dark, pool was under renovation. Had a dog constantly barking in room across from us.

Middle of refurbishment of carpets in hallway, so lots of noise from hallway, echo due to no carpets, view of pool also dismal as pool was closed due to renos.

No electric plug in the bathroom! have pictures. They gave me an extension cord to be able to use my water floss. Very noisy, I could count the steps of the person on the upper floor at 3:38 AM. Very noisy piping; recorded the crazy sound and shared it with the front desk attendee. No sound insulation, and an insect showed up on my bed one night. This Sandman is more like a two star than a 3 star hotel. Staff appear to be nice from the general manager to the rest of the crew. However, they do not keep their promises. The advertised pool is empty! The atrium is abandoned!

Good location, scooters available outside hotel & an easy ride to local breweries
Pool was closed, lots of people hanging around the building making it uncomfortable to walk my dog alone, condition of hotel did not match the price

good location for our needs, rooms were clean and spacious. the only sad part was the pool was closed, but their is a great swimming pool right across the street.

Staff accommodated special needs at time of booking on line and by return email for adjusted check-in time and pet stay. Extra blankets, pillows and shower robes available. Also close to Denny's for food at any hour.
Special needs bathroom in room 102 was awkward for non special needs patrons. EG. door swing, shower design and toilet seat.

I liked the overall location of the hotel, very close to the South Okanagan events center. Room clean and friendly staff

Had missing light bulb, very little toilet paper when we arrived (there was 4 women), fridge was not working, blow dryer worked for a short while and then quit.

The hotel itself is very old and you can tell, in very poor condition. Compare to the one in Kelowna.
The swimming pool and hot tub not working. The ac in the room is very old and loud, i am hvac guy, this ac should have been replaced 10 years ago. Room 255.
I won't be back in this location in the next time im in Penticton.

I booked Sandman based on my past good experience, I felt this location was ok but not the one I expected.
One of key/pass didn't work at all. We couldn't access the door on ground floor, someone opened for us, otherwise it was so far away from main door. The floor smells like smoke, the overall location appears to be old and bath door was deteriorated from bottom.

The manager and the customer service desk personnel where polite, understanding and friendly.
Upon arrival we where told there's no one to help us with our luggages. Ok fine but from the moment you entered the hall wall it had a foul smell. Lots of water stain from the ceiling to the corner of the floor. The room had the same funky foul smell. When we wipe the counters down where the microwave was and we where appalled at the filthy dirt on our tissue paper. Which tells us that the housekeeping service is not meeting the standards of cleanliness especially post covid. We kept our shoes on the entire time. Needless to say we did not stay another night. The front desk lowered our rate which was reasonable but we will not be back. Basically they've taken an old building, no renovation and then put Sandman name on it but certainly did not delivery the expectations of other sandman hotels I've been to in the past.
