Every single interaction I had with the staff was lovely! The restaurant was wonderful and it was great having coffee facilities in the room.

The sound proofing of the balcony doors wasn’t great so the traffic noise was quite loud - I would recommend earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Also there was no mention in the property policies or description that you are charged a $200 deposit upon checking in - it would be helpful to know this in advance.

Great hotel in many ways. Lovely lounge and bar area and the pool was perfect after days out and open until late for post dinner dips! Our room was fine, bit of a squeeze for 4 but we weren’t in it much. Restaurant on site was really nice for a meal and the cocktails in the bar were good. We used the trolley to get to Universal and also again one evening to go to dinner at City Walk at Universal. We had considered this hotel alongside Loews and The Roosevelt and were so pleased to have chosen this instead. Location so much nicer and hotel much more pleasant for downtime.

Bar staff in the main bar by the restaurant weren’t particularly friendly or helpful. In fact quite rude. A complete contrast to the reception staff and bar staff by the pool who were always very friendly.

The vibe was a perfect balance between adult and family.

Location is great for visiting universal studios, they provide free shuttle as well. Facilities very great, room was clean, all staff members were nice and helpful. The restaurant was great as well!

The family feel, great facilities and great location for universal. Free shuttle to Universal. The Garland is especially good for thoses with families but also provides a quiet retreat for thoses wishing to gey away for a relax. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

Would have been good to have a few more food options for kiddies.

Very nice decor and atmosphere throughout. The swimming pool is great with the evening movie screening + poolside food and drinks was a lot of fun.

On one night there were two private events which meant there was very little space for the guests to use; and on another day the pool was closed which was a shame.

Overall no feeling of luxury of great comfort. Beds and pillows were highly uncomfortable and there was no choice to change any, airco was very noisy in the room making it difficult to keep it on, but also when off heat did not help in sleeping either. The pool is good hoever if you checkout and you want to use the pool there is no way to shower properly: there is a rinse shower but nothing else. Cleanliness can also be discussed. I saw cleaners putting new bed sheets on the floor, before putting them on the beds. Not really of great standard. Having an electrical car was dramatic. The car chargers of the hotel only worked with an app which could not be downloaded with a non US Play Store account (both on iOS as well as on Android). So it was impossible to charge. Totally not tourist friendly.

The valet staff was a little rude while we were checking in and figuring out the lay of the land.

I enjoyed the pool area. There was a station in-room that told about the Hollywood connection/history of the hotel. It was nice that there was a restaurant and very busy bar (late night happy hour) on site—met some interesting people :)

Stayed at The Garland for a girls trip and it was perfect. The pool and pool bar were really great - food and drinks were exceptional. Our room was super clean and close to the lobby and the pool which was super fortunate. The onsite restaurant was also very, very good and super convenient. There was a refrigerator and coffee pot in the room as well. We did some light shopping and was able to keep snacks cool. We used Valet parking which I highly recommend as well. The location has easy freeway access. I highly recommend this location and will definately stay there again!

There wasn't anything that the hotel could control - the first day there was a lot of pool chairs that were saved - yet no one used them...I have stayed other places where they do a 30 minute sweep and remove items that are "saving" chairs.

The El Dorado section was way better than the other section. Room 459 was a nightmare. Paper thin walls..we were just tryna get some sleep, after a long day of universal studios but they accommodated us with another room, the next day though. That was way better. This would have been a better hotel for a younger couple trying to party or for the summer. Valet is 37 a night and no complimentary breakfast.
