clean , nice getaway

i was not aware of the 200 a night extra incidentals I had to go back in fort 3 times . upon arriving they charge 1,083 I wasn’t aware of the 400 extra so we had to go to the bank it was 9pm , she mention she will only charge 830 but ones we got to the place she said never mind I have to charge 1,083 so ones again we left to the bank . we had spent our day at Disneyland so getting to the hotel we weren’t expecting yo go back in fort 3 times we were very tired it was just unfortunate

The rooms were very nice and clean. We enjoyed the outside dining and fire pit one night. Staff very friendly. We stayed there in December and that’s why we came back to stay when we visit family.

We had made dinner reservations in advance requesting a round table and confirmed with numerous phone calls that yes that would be fine. Incorrect information was given on numerous calls to us.

The location was nice, close to laguna beach, and a short walk from the Montage resort and its beach and park. The food in the restaurant was excellent and staff were mostly friendly. The spa was amazing with great staff.

The buildings have clearly been adapted from something else -- a school? A camp ground? Who can tell -- and are nothing luxurious. This is not a 5-star property, but they charge 5-star rates. We had ants all over our room, including on the bedding, the counters, and in the shower and sinks, and when I complained I was told "Oh yes, lots of people complain about that". Okay?! There were fleas in the room, and my parter and I both left with several painful bites on our lower legs. Again, when I told the front desk, they were unsympathetic. The patio bar closed at 8pm, so there was nothing to do in the resort in the evening. The restaurant opens at 7am, but they are not ready to serve customers at that time. There is no cell service, but they do provide free Wi-Fi. Overall we expected a resort-style stay, and that is not what we got. It's a reasonable hotel if they didn't charge so much -- we're happy to spend the money for a luxury experience, but this time we wished we'd booked elsewhere.

the room was lovely. the setting beautiful.

we were quite disappointed in dinner. we heard great things about the restaurant but the food wasn’t great. the ribeye was so overly covered with a sauce when good steak should speak for itself. the bolognese was good but the pasta was not done. the restaurant was hot, given it was unusually hot this week, but it was literally cooler outside than inside.

Lovely property and nice restaurant

When I checked in I left my credit card by mistake at the desk. I realized it was gone the next day and when I called the front desk and they said they had it, I asked why they didn’t call me. they said they were not on duty when I checked in. I would have thought at least they would have offered to bring the card to my room. A very unsatisfactory experience. When I asked what the procedure was, when this happened, no one could give me an answer

Setting is absolutely stunning and so relaxing! Staff was all extremely friendly and food was delicious. Room is spacious, well decorated, and very quiet.

So hard to say anything bad but we visited on a Monday and unfortunately the bar by the pool was closed which made it slightly complicated but probably could have read that beforehand - whoops! Would love to visit on a weekend when everything is up and running!

The property location was beautiful, serene, and quiet. The beds were super comfortable. The food at the hotel restaurant was amazing… organic, farm to table stile.

Our room was a suite but it faced the parking lot and the stream / sewerage run off that ran past our room smelled horrible. And there’s no complementary water bottles. Only $5 waters. There were only 2 small drinking glasses. We also had ants in our room.

Very peaceful and quiet

The room wasn’t clean. There was a spider web and 2 spiders on the ceiling, ants and it just didn’t feel clean. For the price per night I expected more. The wifi was awful, and there’s no service

We loved feeling like we were up in the mountains when we were really walking distance to the beach. The beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable. Staff was friendly and wonderful. Food was good.

The flames from the fire pit caused our plates to get dangerously hot resulting in my friend severely burning her fingers.

The ranch is like butlins, we had no hot water the first day because guess what our boiler run the whole block! Not what you expect at these sort of prices. When we complained some extremely sour faced managed/receptionist said she’d give us 50% off the room rate because we couldn’t shower with barely even acknowledging us! The next day we sat down to brunch which was definitely lunch and then told the kitchen was being refurbished and there was a looted menu, I was then told the reason we weren’t told was Bavaria’s of used booking.com which is off because they seemed to be able to communicate all the other details with me. We left a night early, it was awful, awful place, don’t go and don’t waste your money save it somewhere that deserves it!!

The room was huge -- we had a two story apartment with balconies on both levels. The staff kept it very clean and offered turn-down service every night. The location is amazing with easy walks to the beach and hikes up the mountains in Laguna Beach. We ate breakfast one morning and it was delicious.

There were firepits on the main patio that required a $200 minimum to sit there. Think that should be free for paying guests. There weren't any activities during the week except for live music every evening. The pool was quite cold for being heated.

I absolutely loved my room! It was very clean and comfortable! The shower was amazing! I had breakfast at the restaurant. A little pricey but it was delicious and the view was spectacular!
