This apartment is even nicer than the photos. All the rooms are large, comfortable and very nicely decorated. The kitchen has modern appliances and everything you could possibly need to prepare meals. The owners even left us delicious pastry as a welcome gift. We stayed once for 2 weeks, then returned for another 2 weeks later because we enjoyed it so much. The bedroom has a very comfortable queen bed, a door opening onto a Juliet balcony and a huge closet. The living room has very comfortable furniture and 2 doors that open onto balconies. The location is perfect. On a quiet side street but within 2 short blocks of the markets, restaurants and shops. The owners, Rosanna and Danilo, were extremely kind. They helped us with booking tours, gave good advice about the sights and restaurants and even helped retrieve my lost luggage from the airport. I would highly recommend this apartment, as it was perfect for us, and would love to return in the future. Thank you Rosanna and Danilo for an excellent vacation in your lovely apartment!

The apartment is well appointed, and clean. Water, wine, jams and biscuits to get you started was much appreciated. Communication with Danilo was very quick and helpful. We rented a car and generally found it easy to park around the property. The location is in the heart of the market and restaurants so lots of graffiti and trash but looking beyond and you'll find live music in open air squares, and local Hangouts with books for the choosing. A short walk to via Etena and so many sites.

Danilo checked us in the shortly after we landed in Catania, and he was extremely helpful the entire trip. He helped us find places to eat and even booked a tour for us up to Mt. Etna. The house was just as shown, and some parts were even nicer. It was an incredible place to stay with a perfect location, and we would definitely stay there again.

As first-time visitors to Sicily, we chose Catania as our first port of call simply for the convenience of the airport and fight schedules. Thanks to this lovely apartment, and the warm, engaging personality of Rosanna who met us upon arrival, we fell in love with this under-appreciated, vibrant city. Others have mentioned the fabulous location of the apartment, right in the historic heart of Catania just steps from the famous fish market (not to mention vegetable, fruit, meat, cheese, bread and herb vendors) and the Piazza del Duomo with its famed Elephant Fountain. It's also just a few minutes' walk to landmarks like the Castello Ursino, Teatro Massimo Bellini, and the prime commercial street of Via Etnea, that runs straight up into the foothills of Mount Etna which hovers above the city like a mirage. You can walk everywhere from this apartment, and we did. The photos don't do the apartment justice. It's surprisingly spacious, painted in warm gold, terracotta and sage, with gorgeous vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows in each room, opening to Juliette balconies. The eat-in kitchen is equipped with everything you need to prepare, cook and serve food -- including a wide range of condiments, olive oil, tea and coffee, even pasta. The bottle of good local wine waiting to welcome us was much appreciated! Of the countless bars and restaurants in the vicinity, we enthusiastically endorse Rosanna's recommendation: try Da Antonio Trattoria. They dish up wonderful food at reasonable prices - again, just steps from the apartment. This review wouldn't be complete without a renewed accolade for Rosanna. She's fluent in English (a native Sicilian as well as expat American), personable, knowledgeable, and hands-on if needed.. When the water in the entire apartment building unaccountably turned off early one morning, Rosanna responded to our message instantly and everything was fixed in short order. Highly recommended, with thanks!

We enjoyed our stay in a cozy apartment for two. Rosaria and her son-in-law Danilo, welcomed us with a bottle of wine. The apartment has all conveniences, and merely two blocks from the fish market so we could buy our dinners to cook. Though the outside of the building looks scruffy the inside was just fine. Rosaria and Danilo offered suggestions and information. At one point in our stay the clothes washer didn’t work. In spite of a family medical issue Rosaria came that day and fixed it. Very attentive!

Wonderful apartment with everything you could possibly want or need in the middle of the historic center steps from everything including the famous outdoor market. Rosaria is a wonderful host and the city of Catania a joy!

Cheerful, tastefully decorated, comfortable apartment conveniently located very near market and many restaurants. The air conditioning was amazing, as it was quite hot this July. Hosts were gracious, helpful, and charming. A perfect place to stay while visiting Catania.

This apartment is top of the line. Everything is decorated beautifully and clean. A short walk to the Duomo Square. We were picked up at the train station and arrangements were made for a taxi to take us to the airport. Thank you Rosaria for everything.

How hard is it to love Sicily, Catania, and the apartment when you are welcomed by such a beautiful person such as Rosaria. She met us with open arms (literally), led us to the apartment and made us feel at home instantly with some basic goods and a walk around the local area to make us feel at home after a 7 hour train trip. The apartment itself is faultless. Spacious, all the mod cons and the world famous feature of a suitcase winch (although the apartment is only on the 1st/2nd floor). You're right next door to the best markers I experienced in 8 weeks in Italy, and some fantastic restaurants. However, buy the market produce and use the great kitchen facilities. We stayed some days in Catania and immediately we felt to be home! The apartment is beautiful, clean, quiet and everything you could need is there (even more!). The location is perfect to discover the city, only few minutes walking are required to discover the Cathedral, the Roman theater and all places of interest). The market (2 minutes) is amazing! And Rosaria is a very nice person. When we will back to Catania, we will come again in this apartment.

Rosaria was extremely helpful during the booking process, warmly welcomed us at the apartment on arrival and took us on a short tour of the area, pointing out restaurants, markets and places of interest etc. The apartment, in a great location, was immaculate and quiet in the centre of the old town. Spacious air conditioned rooms with high ceilings, comfortable sitting room, a well fitted kitchen, including dishwasher and a powerful shower. We had a lovely holiday, with days out to the coast and of course to Mount Etna. We enjoyed eating out in local restaurants, plenty of choice and cooking the freshest of fish from the local market. We had a wonderful albeit short time in Catania at the “Casa di Chiara.” The apartment is spacious, spotlessly clean and has everything one would want. Rosaria gave us a generous gift of wine and paste di mandorle on arrival, but the cupboards are well-stocked with basic ingredients – combine this with the fantastic fresh produce at the market (circa 2 minutes walk) – you may well be tempted to stay in for dinner! The location is fantastic for sight-seeing, and an early-evening passeggiata is a must, Catania is a small but bustling city at times. There are numerous restaurants, cafes and fresh produce shops as well as historical points of interest close by. We also made a trip to nearby Aci Castello where the basalt cliffs are a sight to behold. Rosaria made our stay that much more special. She is a kind, hospitable and generous person, very friendly (and tolerant of my average Italian!) The short walk around the area was a real treat, there is no substitute for local knowledge in showing us the best places and it was nice to be able to get our bearings. Rosanna made our visit so special. Even before we arrived to Catania, our correspondence was easy and she was extremely helpful. We rented a car from the airport, we got lost, easy to do with all the one way streets. We called Rosanna and she came to us and guided to the apartment. Casa di Chiara, is a lovely apartment in the heart of Catania. Free parking on the street. The apartment is on the 3rd floor, but she has a hoist to bring up your luggage. The apartment is very well maintained and well stocked with the necessities. She supplied ua with water, milk, cookies and a bottle of wine. It has air-conditioning and heat. The home is spotless. Good size bedroom, kitchen and living room. Very bright with many windows. She took here time showing us around and telling us about great restaurants and places to visit. There is a daily market 2 blocks from the apartment where you can buy everything you need for food, fresh vegetable, meats, fish and bakeries. An excellent cafe, Bar Manzinni ,right around the corner for your morning cappuccino and pastry. It is only a five minute walk to the main Duomo. Everything was in walking distance. But what made it so special is Rosanna. The main reason we visited Sicily is because my grandfather was born in Ciminna. She helped me get in touch with the town council and arranged having my family information sent to me. If it wasn't for her help I would not have happened. She is very kind and gracious women. We love you and miss you.

This was the perfect apartment for our trip in Catania. Centrally located and wonderful. Rosaria made our stay, she was so very helpful, kind and informative, kindly showing us where local markets and restaurants were! We will definitely be coming back again such a beautiful place and the apartment was amazing, if I could give the apartment and Rosaria 10 stars I would! Highly recommend

My husband and I had a fantastic stay in Catania largely due to Rosaria and her great flat. Rosaria met us on the platform as we got off the train from Palermo and took us by car to the flat in the centre of old Catania. What can I say about the flat. Wow !!! it was large, well and stylishly decorated and extremely clean. We could not believe our luck . There was a large, light ,living room with a comfortable sofa, 2 windows the size of doors with netting to keep out insects. A TV provided welcome entertainment at night if we. were in especially as there were many international channel including some in English. Free and great Wifi was also available. The bedroom was .large with a nice high ceiling. Again this was light and airy with a large window, also with netting . This room had a large and comfortable bed along with lots of wardrobe space. The kitchen was a great size with all necessary equipment, fridge freezer, full size cooker, washing machine etc. Rosaria also provided store cupboard items such as various oils, vinegar, salt, spices , herbs, coffee and much much more - pasta, rice, fruit and a welcome gift of Sicilian cakes. Rosaria took us on a short walk of the area to show us the market, local delis, bakers and the local bus station. This made such a difference to our stay. We were able to try and experience things we would not have done. Altogether, we had a great time in Catania largely due to Rosaria . She was both kind and thoughtful and this made a big difference. Added to this the flat was fantastic,the best we have stayed in during our travels in Europe.

We wanted to share our wonderful experience at Rosaria's place. It started good even before starting our trip with clear and prompt e-mail communication, so we had anticipated our vacation to be good. Upon our arrival, (it was almost one day late due to flight delay, she accommodated us with no problem) we received owners' personal and warm greeting at property which made me feel we were back to family member's home. They briefed us not only to the property, but also took us around to familiarize the area including some awesome restaurants and cafes. It made our following stay much easier and fun. We use HomeAway rental quite often, but never received this level of personal and friendly greeting and support from owner. (Even she helped us to communicate with Lost and Found service for our lost baggage. Thank you.) The flat is located at the center of Catania old town (2 mins walk from Piazza Duomo), and 30 seconds from famous Catania farmers market. (We enjoyed fresh fruits and produce from there.) The apartment is very very clean and well equipped including dishwasher, washer, AC and safe box, etc. Bed was comfortable with fresh linens. You would find owner's care and attentions in every detail. We had rental car few days during our a week vacation, but there was any problem on street parking on the same street. (It might be bit challenging on Saturday night. We needed to find parking space couple blocks away.) Thanks Rosaria and Pippo for having us at your place, and making our stay unforgettable.

The apartment is clean, light and airy and excellently equipped for self catering. It is difficult to know what new to say after reading the nine 5 star reviews already submitted. The reviews are all accurate. Actually the apartment should have 6 stars - an extra one for Rosaria and Pippo who took us on a walking familiarisation tour of the environs and introduced us to the local traders so we could get straight into our holiday. There is a takeaway and excellent restaurant just a minute from the front door. The market and fish market are 2 minute's more walk and the Piazza del Duomo and the start of Via Etnea is just another minute from the market. The Catania circular bus stops just the other side of the fish market and there is a main bus station just 5 minutes further on. The Puppet theatre and Metro is 20 minute's walk. The Metro is an excellent start for the Circumetnea railway which is a 4 hour rail excursion around the foothills of Etna and well worth doing. Just about everything seems to be just around the corner from the apartment. Thank you Rosaria and Pippo for contributing so much to our holiday

My wife, daughter and I recently had the pleasure of visiting Catania and stayed in this perfect apartment. Rosaria was an absolute delight to work with. The apartment was spotless, beautifully decorated, well equipped and in a great location. Rosaria showed us around the immediate area, made introductions at restaurants and made us feel right at home. Over the years we have rented apartments in Madrid, Seville, Paris and other cities. This by far has been the nicest apartment we have rented. It is right in the middle of everything but still very quiet and serene. A great place to stay!

What a surprise in Catania! We had such a friendly and grand welcome to this beautiful city. Rosaria went out of her way to show us every detail we might need in the apartment, took us down to the market and introduced us to her favorite butcher, pointed out all the best restaurants. The apartment was perfect in every way, fresh flowers, pastries and even a bottle of wine. Tastefully furnished. Very quiet. The location was perfect for an entry into this city. Easy access to the bus terminal for day trips to Etna, Siracusa or the beach. We would highly recommend and are frequest visitors to Sicily and look forward to our visit next year.
