This hotel is so close to upstate medical it was easy to walk back and forth. It’s also walking distance to various restaurants. The staff is accommodating and very friendly and the room was very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this establishment!!!
I could not find anything to dislike about this property.
6.0 / 10.0
It’s in a great location —- close to Syracuse University and Upstate Medical Center.
The decor is dated and bland. The rooms lack a coffee/tea set up and there was no bottled water. It looks like a luxury hotel but it isn’t. I didn’t like the closet having a curtain rather than a door. For the price and exterior appearance, I expected more.

Proximity to downtown Syracuse.
Sounds, like squeaking beds & and elephant footsteps were very apparent through thin walls/ceiling.
2.0 / 10.0
Location is convenient to Syracuse university and the restarant and CVS is nearby.
During my 4 days stays, I asked twice for bathroom refresh and trash clean, but nothing happened.

The historic facade.

Great location if you are going to want to go around the Syracuse campus, but otherwise this hotel is very basic. I think for the price you could find something else that would be even closer to the campus like the Sheraton. Staff was nice, but not super helpful. Food was average at best. Parking on site was great!
Food was not good and not advised even if hungry. Staff were not very helpful and clearly doing too many jobs at once. The price was way too high for a hotel of this caliber.

Friendly, quiet, good location. Nice, simple complimentary breakfast.
Hall rugs could use an update.

I liked the overall asethic of the hotel itself. Hotel was quiet and was easy to get comfortable once I was settled into my suite. TV service was great. Staff was courteous.
Suite advertised that the suite I was in has a microwave. It didn't. Had to go out again to get hot food from a resturant instead of being able to warm up food in my suite. Water pressure was just ok. Nothing great. There's no door on the shower itself. Made no sense to me. Onsite bar doesn't take credit or debit cards, either cash or charge to room, which is kinda silly to just be only to take those 2 forms of payment. Breakfast was just horrible. All premade items and just 2 waffle makers. You can make waffles, but no eggs or other items to go with it. Just a plain waffle and syrup? For the price..its really not much value for what you're paying in terms of usefulness.

We had splurged for a suite. The one they gave us was called the Tree House. This was a big mistake for two 80 year olds. The bed room was up a flight of stairs. Noe way in the dark, middle of the night could ether one of us made it downstairs to use the bathroom. The description should have described this better. The afternoon desk person was able to get us another room, she was very nice.
This is the second stay in a row that there was no morning coffee. The short heavy set desk guy not as component as the rest of the staff.Same person both times.

location and the dedication to LEED certification

The location was ok, and the complimentary snacks were good.
"Unique" rooms = Slapped together in a highly irregular shape as cheaply as humanly possible.
My room had a single half circle window and highly angled "ceiling walls" that eliminated most of the walkable floor space.
Furniture was musty and uncomfortable, outside of the bed.

Spacious room
While making a reservation we requested a baby cot and we received a confirmation, it will be in the room. There wasn't one when we arrived. A man from the staff told us, that he usually doesn't work there and he has no idea where it is. It was very disappointing since we booked this particular hotel because they offered baby cots.
Breakfast was very poor, mostly some fast food items, nothing fresh. But it is a general approach in many hotels, unfortunately.
AC/heating system in the room was very loud, it woke me up several times during the night.
Rooms are outdated and the hotel in general is dark and unfriendly.

I enjoyed meeting the friendly staff! The room was clean and quiet. The walk to and from The Oncenter was short. I will stay here again when traveling to Syracuse. .
Nothing!

Booked a room 2 weeks prior and arrived to find none available. They had unoccupied rooms but were not allowed to release them.

More expensive than I wanted. I will have to say someplace else next time due to the price.

Nice facility with a touch of history.
Breakfast could be a little more extensive

I was expecting more hot dishes. Everything was cold besides the waffles—which I don't eat.
The person who checked us in (we didn't get in until after 10pm) was very rude. And the person who checked us out was fair but not that friendly.

The bathroom needs some attention. Some mold and lifting wallpaper.

Staff was so polite, breakfast was phenomenal selection, room very spacious and clean. It was very nice!
