In the first night someone broke into my room while I was asleep. Hotel is in a shady environment with many homeless people, who sometimes even enter the floor

Absolutely nothing. The ONLY positive about this place was the associate, Jessica, who managed to save us from a totally awful trip.

Where do I start. This is my first bad review I’ve ever left in my life. This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. We came to town for a festival, and missed the first 3 bands because we didn’t get checked in til 5pm, even though check in was at 3pm and we were the FIRST people in line. They said they only had one cleaning crew and that’s why there was a delay, but I’m confused as to how check out is at 11am, so in 4 hours, they couldn’t clean ONE room (because again we were the first to check in). This check in situation was unfortunate, but it would’ve been a smaller issue, had the manager, alysha, not been the rudest and most unprofessional person I’d ever met in my life. I am someone who understands that things happen, and I don’t sweat the small stuff. So in these situations, I’m always willing to roll with the punches & not give staff a hard time when things out of their control happen. But here’s what my interaction with alysha was like: when I arrived at 2:55, I asked if we were able to check in (only 5 mins til check in). She didn’t even look at me, walked right by me and said “nope”. I was like oh ok, come back in 5 mins? And she responded “probably 30. No rooms”, again not even glancing up at me. She then proceeded to accost and insult every single person who called the hotel in the hour that I was waiting there. I was shocked because I’d never heard a hotel associate, let alone a manager, treat pleasant strangers sooo poorly. At 4pm when they finally said rooms were ready, and I had been silently and patiently waiting, she came back and said that our room was ready. She said “1 king”. I responded “oh I’m sorry, we paid for 2 queens because there are 3 of us”. At this point they’d already swiped my card and charged me for the room, so I very politely (because I didn’t want to do or say anything that would result in me not getting a room) asked for the room I’d paid for.

It was closed for remodel. We booked months earlier and no one told until we arrived.

There was one staff member that was really nice.Bed was decent.

Outer door didn't lock. It was behind a condemned hotel in a terrible area. Surprise cash only deposit of $150 at the door. Which couldn't get back until after 9am so if you need to check out early you won't have a chance to get your money back. Location is sublet leased to homeless people. Good luck getting anything for breakfast. They don't care that people smoke so entire building smells like pot and animal excrement. Paint peeling and holes in walls tv was scratched to hell. Room service is by request which is fine but they have it posted that longer stays will be checked after the 3rd day. It was not.

Deposit was $150 and that is just out of line in my opinion.

We like that this is close to where we were going the next day. And we like the complementary breakfast too.

The receptionist in the front desk was rude from the get-go. She seemed so unwelcoming and does not care. Her body language and the way she talked was blunt and rude like a burn-out employee, not wanting to work anymore. She also made a rude comment that my colleague is weird just because she did not just sit down in the lounge to wait patiently, but was instead was actively walking and looking around the area while I was busy transacting with her. The property also had a mandatory $150 cash deposit before you can check-in, which was not even mentioned here in Booking.com. we were forced to use the ATM there with fees because we were not carrying cash of that amount in our wallets.
