This is a unique historical landmark. We stayed in La Jolla Haven with two of our kids and it was rustic and beautiful. It had everything we needed in a truly lovely and peaceful setting. Would definitely want to stay here again!

The location of the property is great! I am very picky with cleanliness and was happy to see that the room was cleaned thoroughly. The property has a cozy feel and super convenient to have a kitchenette in the room. I went in November so I didn't need the a/c but glad to see they had one - could not stay in the summer without a/c.

Now I have to say that the internet was pretty terrible. I connected to the onsite wifi and all my calls would drop or I wouldn't get my email messages - I had to disconnect and use my own data. On top of that, the satellite tv kept losing sound and picture periodically because it kept trying to connect. The only other thing is that the walls are thin. My neighbor woke up at 5am my first morning and I could hear everything - walking, the coffee maker, music, cabinets opening and closing, etc. - I even had a white noise sound machine on. Luckily, they checked out that morning and I didn't hear anything after that.

It is a lovely cottage and patio and the bed was ok but the pillows not so much. The portable heaters were a huge help. The kitchen was well supplied, but there was no one available to get more coffee after the first day and that was very upsetting as they supplied a kureg machine and only a couple of coffees and 2 tea bags. Also there was only one hand towel for 4 days. It would also help if there were hooks in the bathroom to hang the towels and robe. Other than that it was a lovely place and we would like to return for a week or two in the late winter.

Redwood Hollow cottages has a great location; 1 block to the ocean, 3 blocks from restaurants, 4 blocks from downtown La Jolla with its shops, restaurants and sea cliffs. We loved that we stayed in our own little cottage with a small kitchen, separate bedroom and bath. The place was quiet and homey with lots of outdoor furniture. Everything was clean and the staff very friendly. We could pay as much or more for a hotel room but this was both nicer and cozier. Two restaurant recommendations: El Pescador fish market and Verdes El Ranchero.

On site parking is limited and down a steep driveway (hint: plenty of street parking so after the first night we didn't bother navigating the driveway). Could have more coffee and tea in the room. But the office person was very nice letting us take what we needed from her supply.

We were delighted to have a letter addressed to us with a map to the cottage and the key. The cottage was so charming and quaint. Very roomy in a garden-like property. Very close to the beach. Plenty of “kitchen” equipment. They darkened our room upon our request.

Limited parking. Wore socks because the floor felt grungy.

It's a charming place lots of flowers very quiet. Easy walk to beaches and town.

PARKING we were told there was parking on site. Unfortunately there are only 4 place on a first come first serve. We had to park on the street one night. Do NOT count on parking on site.

It was lovely to be greeted by Peggy and Nunu. Perfect location. The studio looks better in person than in the photos. Loved the decor.

There was nothing to dislike.

I loved the quaint yet modern effect, especially the visiting cat every morning!!! The grounds are phenomenal and so well kept. It is like a little bit of paradise.

My cabin would have been more convenient with a mirror over the chest of drawers in the bedroom.

My wife and I stayed here before and love the location. 5 minute walk to the beach. The cottages just disappear into the surroundings.

The beds were so uncomfortable, noisy, no padding. For a place like this its disappointing that they can't invest some $ into comfortable beds. These were the worst beds I have ever slept in, including summer camp as a child. Might as well felt like you were just sleeping on straight bed springs. One reservation per cottage could pay for a new mattress. Its not like it won't pay itself off in a very short time. Take some pride in your guests comfort...
