There should be a rug on the floor in the bathroom. a couple more garage bags, The flys were a problem.

The cabins were clean. Nancy in an awesome host. The on site restaurant great.

The water in the pond was stagnant.

The only 2 good things about this location was the cabin, overall and the property’s remote location.

The staff, with the exception of the woman who checked me in, was completely nonexistent. She was incredibly friendly and I left our encounter feeling great but it sure didn’t last long. I asked about Sammie’s and was a little taken aback that the only restaurant within miles - the one ON the property was closing at 5… on a Friday night. so, we unloaded at the cabin and left to get supplies and saw the sign indicating Sammie’s was open 363 days a year and mapped out our plans for the next day. With rain it was about a 30 minute drive to a grocery store for supplies. after shopping & dinner we arrived back at the property after the welcome center and office were closed. Back at the cabin we quickly realized how cold it was and set out to turn on the heat… which we couldn’t figure out. We turned, what we thought were thermostats up to 70… and it didn’t get warmer… and slowly all the way up to 90… and nothing. So, I called the front office - the only number listed anywhere … and no answer. many, many times I called. I left a voicemail explaining that we were really cold and couldn’t figure out why the cabin wasn’t heating up and asked someone to please call me. As I write this, it’s 48 hours after I left that voicemail, and no one has called me. So that restaurant that is advertised as being open 363 days a year isn’t. The friendly clerk who checked me in probably could have mentioned that during our conversation about the hours. So we froze all night, we couldn’t get ahold of anyone, the restaurant was closed and it wasn’t Thanksgiving or Christmas, so we loaded up the car and left. In the mountain of paperwork I received at check in, there was no mention of what to do with the key. So we went and found warmth and food elsewhere. I called Booking.com and they didn’t have much luck reaching anyone either.

We arrived around 5. I called that we might be later than 4. Located staff member who said she was “off”. She ended up helping us but I didn’t like her lack of dedication
