The Location

We were in the annex building it was old and dingy we had a barking dog neighbor. I messaged the hotel that we had left a hat and never received a reply to the message

Penn's Lodge is close to everything and within walking distance of some great shops and restaurants. It's very near to the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania.

The breakfast was adequate but could have been better.

I always love staying at the Penn Wells Lodge. The service is exceptional. Everyone working there is always pleasant and smiling. No complaints whatsoever. We stay in the suites which are still pretty new and have tall ceilings (not typical for hotels). It feels spacious and comfortable for our family. Location is very central with a grocery store and a Dunkin Donuts across the street.

The breakfast was definitely better than most included ones. Tea and coffee were high quality. Eggs were served daily, along with many other choices. The breakfast cooks and servers were very attentive to our needs. The wifi was quicker than at most budget stays. The location was very walkable to all sorts of dining, and a movie/live-venue theater was only about two blocks away. Within a short drive were outstanding outdoor options such as a wonderful bike path through the Pine Creek Canyon, a climbable fire tower (bring credit card for $8 total charge), and two state parks by the canyon's rim.

The shower's water temperature was a bit tricky to modulate, but could be accomplished with a little practice. The bathroom window was great for fresh air, but did not have an opaque shade to go with it. There was a refrigerator, but no microwave within the budget room (which was very fairly priced). Although free parking was said to be included, after reservations were made, the confirmation sheet said "when available." This was no problem except for crowded times of the week when the parking lot filled up fairly quickly. At that point, it might be tough to get a spot near your room, but perhaps possible to get one farther away.

We love this location and travel back every year. The town is so charming and the hotel makes us feel at home.

The kids would love to see waffles for breakfast or more that they could eat.

We had a leak in the bathroom sink and we were moved across the hall. Our room was an upgrade much to our delight.

They had no elevator to the second floor and the free breakfast was not able to keep up with the demand even ran out of coffee not much selection . For the price I would have expected better. Other hotels in the area were less expensive. Would not recommend to friends.

Staff was wonderful as always. Front desk very friendly and accommodating. Lodge was clean and inviting.

Same thing served everyday for breakfast. Light in bathroom didn't work also.
