Location, pools, access to beach

Dirty, mold on picture in room. Smelled musty, and barn door on bathroom didn't give much privacy for bathroom.

While professional and friendly I think the staff could improve in its speed and delivery of services. Bartenders and waiters/waitresses could benefit from hospitality training.

Indoor pool was run down and in need of some upkeep.

Location, proximity to beach

It would be nice to have some fresh fruit available with coffee in the morning.

Nice location, nice restaurant, clean atmosphere with lots of options in things to do.

$39 resort fee that didn’t cover any of the activities. I was recently at a Hyatt resort with a $40 resort fee and that covered ALL the paddle boarding, kayak, bikes etc. when i went to rent a paddle board the door storing them was locked and the person with the key wasn’t going to be back for hours. Then i was still billed $10 for a rental i never made. Furthermore i would have expected a discount on the bikes i rented the next day for the inconvenience but i was not provided that. Additionally $30 for s’mores is a clear sign you are trying to gouge someone while i don’t mind paying more it’s rather off putting to see the arrogance. Additionally. There was a board under one of the bed legs sticking out which i stubbed my toe on twice. I’d expect that in a Howard Johnson not a $500 a night resort.

Beautiful location

I have been coming to the sanderling for a long time, it was my families yearly vacation spot growing up. This place is not the same and it breaks my heart. This place used to be elegant. It seems like the have taken away the little things that made it so special like bringing breakfast to the room every morning with freshly baked pastries, coffee and juice. They got rid of the amazing smelling spa soaps that came with the room. In General it seems like they have taken a very corporate route by cutting costs all around and it’s very noticeable, the aspects that made it a resort are unfortunately disappearing.

Great location and easy access to restaurants and the beach. We had a beautiful ocean view room in the southern building and it was quiet enough that we could occasionally leave the door open and hear the waves. We really enjoyed swimming in the tranquility pool walking down to the beach early in the morning to watch the sunrise. Breakfast at the Lifesaving Station right next to the hotel was delicious. Overall a very relaxing experience!

We didn't have any breakfast, at least not at the Sanderling; however, we did have dinner at the "Life Saving Station" that is next to the Sanderling, and it was delicious! The room we had was very nice, very roomy, nice large bed and also a side porch with chairs that we could go out on and get some fresh air.

I believe I had requested handicap facilities in the shower and there wasn't any. The shower was beautiful and very large but not equipped for handicap. My husband has Parkinson's and needed to have handicap facilities.

price/ quality of room is out of proportion this was our second time, now we booked via booking.com. noticed that you get a lesser smaller room than when you book via hotel it self. in general that has become obvious with other places as well

spider in sheets, no bar service, no housekeeping, lumpy mattress and pillows, when we checked in we noticed some of the lotions and shampoos had already been used.

The resort is nice, although a bit dated. The rooms are generally clean, the bathrooms very nice. But the carpets are older and don't look appealing anymore. We got a good deal because we travelled out of season and that was worth it. I would be disappointed though if I paid the full price in the summertime, that would not be worth it. Overall staff was nice, location was excellent and our stay pleasant.

Outdated carpets. Not everything was top notch clean (e.g. dirty window frames to our balcony). Spa (indoor pool and steam shower) was not perfect (steam room was smelly like mold and dirty, indoor pool felt dirtier than it should for such a hotel). The waiting staff in the restaurant (lifesaving station) was not very friendly: brought the wrong food, did not care about food allergies, and were disappointed when we didnt want to order alcohol - I would expect more for the price you are paying to eat there.

The staff was exceptional and eager to please.

We paid extra for the ocean-view room with a balcony only to find both the windows and patio very dirty. We also had lumpy pillows and found the bed not very comfortable. The spa had no availability and the main restaurant was closed for the “season” - even though we paid high season rates.
