Wonderful stay at Petra & Alexa's villa for a group of 9 (6 adults, 3 kids). Beautiful home and the pool and grounds are amazing. Pizza night with Stefano is highly recommended!

Amazing villa! Views were stunning! Villa had everything you could hope for or imagine! We were a group of three couples traveling together. Layout of bedrooms was perfect, with each having its own bathroom. Extremely well equipped kitchen. The week we were there was a bit cool, and having the huge fireplace made things extra special. Host's recommendations for restaurants and private chefs were excellent. Huge huge appreciation to Mina (one of the private chefs). Her pasta was the best we had in our full three weeks! Also La Bottega del 30 was phenomenal. Helene, definitely deserves her Michelin star! Perfect base to travel to all of the amazing towns close by - Montepulciano, San Gimignano, Monteriggioni, Cortona, Panzano, Greve, Castellina etc. In all, an excellent property. We would definitely stay again if we were in the Chianti region again!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful villa. The kitchen was well equipped and the rooms and furnishings very comfortable. The pool was very large and the center of afternoon activities. We also took advantage of the host recommendations for wineries and dinners. Very helpful! Just be aware that Radda is about 15 minutes by car and that is the closet location for groceries etc. highly recommend this property

The view from the back of this property is the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. The villa is spacious and clean with a great, well stocked kitchen. Don’t miss out on the meal cooked by two amazing chefs in the villa. Make sure you rent a car that’s up for the lengthy gravel road to the property.

We had a wonderful time . The home itself is beautiful and very well-maintained. The view is breathtaking . . We had a chef come in and make dinner for the six of us, and it was such a fantastic and memorable experience. Petra gave us info on winetasting and things to do that was very helpful. The only thing that I would say is that the house is not near groceries,,and not walkable to nearby town so a vehicle (in particular four-wheel-drive) is necessary. I highly recommend if you’re looking for a peaceful, true Tuscan experience that you enjoy it at this home..

Wonderful week in Tuscany
We just got back from a wonderful week at Villa LisDor. The scenery was amazing, with the pool and house set amidst the vineyards and the hills of Tuscany all around. The tennis court is so wonderful to have and the town of Radda in Chianti, 10 minutes away, is the best of all the towns we visited. It was a perfect week!

Wonderful place for a 3 generation reunion
Lisador is perfect for everyone - from bambinos to seniors. The property is large and the house beautifully appointed with almost any amenity you could need. The private pool and tennis court engaged the kids and parents, while there are comfy nooks and crannies to get away from it all.
The location is perfect for days trips to the major sites in the area as well as many nearby wineries. We loved the contrast between the Castello de Fonterutoli (one of the oldest in the region but with new, environmentally sustainable technologies) and the small but beautiful and very friendly Mandria winery just next door to the villa.
We appreciated the information on things to do in the area as soon as we booked. Not only was it helpful for planning our trip, but it was also a good model for our own. VRBO in Canada 😊
Thank you Petra and Alexa for sharing your beautiful property.

beautifully restored villa in private beautiful area
This stunning villa is in the heart of the Chianti region - secluded property but close to Radda and many other hill towns and lots of wineries! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - the kitchen and bathrooms are all upgraded and very well done - the overall decor remains true to the original structure. We arranged for the talented chef Maria Rosa to cook dinner for us one evening. It was absolutely one of the best meals we had in Italy. Petra the owner made sure we had everything we needed and more.

Stunning property great for families
Where do I begin about our stay......it was wonderful in every way. We are a family of seven that traveled from the United States. My husband, three children and parents also loved everything about the property. From the wonderful pool, tennis courts and late afternoon walks along the vineyards it was everything we could have hoped for. We arrived at the property greeted by Mariarosa. I had asked her to pick up a few select things from the grocery store so that we could make dinner at home and have breakfast for the following morning. After a long day of travling with three small children, this was very much appreciated! About fifteen minutes away in the town of Radda was everything you needed. A very cute town filled with adorable shops, restaurants and even grocery stores. Petra was very accomadating and there to answer any questions we had. I will definitely be staying with her again!

Our time here has been excellent with a great tennis court, swimming pool and villa. Great welcome from the housekeeper - despite him speaking no English - we were able to understand the basics! We would recommend going to Radda, Florence and Sienna with some amazing sights. Advise pre-booking some of the tickets for the museums in Florence so that you can avoid the queues. Do look at the great range of guide books in the drawers. There are some great restaurants in the area, one we especially liked was Malborghetto in Lecchi.Amazing views and a great house to be based from.Well maintained swimming pool and tennis court. Very relaxed time - fantastic time base to explore the area and also excellent base to chill. Rustic charm - next year they are looking at extending which sounds very exciting. Would love to come back some day.The Britton family

We have had a fantastic time here at LisiDor
We have had a fantastic time here at LisiDor – beautiful well kept villa, lovely swimming pool and great fun on the tennis court in the evenings.
Trips out to Siena, San Gimignano, Greve (great deli wine tasting shop in the square), Radda, Castle Brolio – Siena and San Gimignano were amazing. Volpaia was also lovely for lunch. Best meals at the local Malborghetto restaurant in Lecchi, amazing ravioli, lamb and chicken.
All in all a very relaxing break – rented bikes from Tuscany bicycle in Gaiole and lots of walks around the villa.
Villa ticked all the boxes – fantastic !!

Beautiful Tuscan villa with lovely views
We had a fantastic stay at the villa.
It was a great base to explore the local area (Siena and the local villages among others) as well as to relax during the day. The pool was brilliant and the shady areas were perfect to read in.
We would especially recommend La Bottega in Volpaia where we had a wonderful evening, but remember to book!
Thank you for all your help with everything – you made our stay very comfortable and we were made to feel very welcome.

Lovely rustic Tuscan experience
We stayed at this villa in early September. The house is approached down a very long track through the vineyards and is truly secluded. If you're looking for a remote setting with fantastic sunsets then this is the place for you!
Two things really made our week here, firstly we had the pleasure of the lovely Maria Rosa cooking for us on a number of evenings, the food was amazing and it was great to see her at work in the kitchen. Secondly we made the most of the tennis court at the villa by arranging for Alberto the local tennis pro to come and coach us.
The house is well located for Siena and Florence and the nearby village Radda is very picturesque and has most of what you need however the supermarket is possibly a little limited with selections so bear in mind you might need to travel further afield for any specific items.
The bathrooms have been recently renovated and are quite stylish. Our only minor comments (which are easily fixed and which might not be important for others), it would have been great if there was a nespresso style coffee machine at the villa and if you're unfortunate to have a rainy few days the TV channels are fairly limited!
This truly is a very special location and to be in the midst of the vineyards in the beautiful Tuscan countryside was very memorable.

Beautiful views in a stunning villa!
The villa and grounds are beautiful and you can tell a huge amount of effort goes into the upkeep and maintenance. The pool is huge with views of vineyards and hills as far as the eye can see. The villa is very large and beautifully decorated, spec'd out to a very high standard but still in keeping with the Tuscan tradition. Also has a tennis court which is a bonus! Petra the owner is most helpful before and during the trip. I would highly recommend this villa...a perfect Tuscan holiday house :)

Lovely villa in a fantastic location!
We had a lovely week in Villa LisiDor and the Chianti region. The location is excellent, down an unpaved road surrounded by vineyards, nature and tranquillity. The owner was very helpful, before, during and after our stay and very accommodating.
We stayed in the villa before the renovation works that are planned, and we found the villa very charming with loads of traditional character, a big gorgeous private pool and a great tennis court. Though there is no air-conditioning, we never missed it as the temperature in the rural countryside is very pleasant and the villa is very cool inside. In fact we never even used the fans provided, even though it was hot in the cities in the surrounding area. We were travelling with a toddler and the villa was very safe, aside from the usual precautions required around the pool.
Radda in Chianti (about 10 mins drive) is a lovely little village with all the amenities you could need including lovely eateries and a very good supermarket. The villa is also very well located for day trips to Siena, San Gimigniano and Florence.
We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend both the villa and the Chianti region. We hope to return soon!

Beautiful, Peaceful location but close Siena and Florence
This is a most beautiful, authentic Tuscan property for a family holiday in Tuscany. We stayed during a heatwave (100 degrees) and were in the amazing pool at least twice a day! Some of us enjoyed the tennis too! Very private, beautiful location overlooking vineyards. Flat lawn area and plenty of areas of shade during the day. No issues with mosquitoes at all here (inside or out) which was lovely! We enjoyed meals at the table outside during the evening. Owners very quick to respond to all communications in the run up to our stay. We had a WONDERFUL holiday here with no issues at all! We'd definitely book it again. Location very convenient to Siena and Florence as well as numerous hilltop towns. Furnishings very comfortable for a family and 3 bathrooms were a definite plus!

Our last stay in Tuscany
For a family hollidays, we've decided to search for a villa in the Siena region. We wanted both a place for fun (eg: swiming pool) and a central point for visiting. The villa Lisidor was perfect and exactly like the description within the web site. A warm welcome by the housekeeper was a important plus.

Excellent Location!
We rented this villa with our three college/post college age children and absolutely loved this location. The views were stunning, there were many places to visit nearby, and a few days we went to either Siena or Florence. There are excellent restaurants within a reasonable distance in every direction.
We played tennis every single day. The owner was very responsive and the property well maintained. An epic vacation. One definitely needs a car to get around the area. Though we didn't rent bikes, I can see that it would be an excellent, though challenging, place to bike. Another time!

Classic Tuscan villa
5 women, ages 60+, stayed in this villa for a week in Sept 2013. It is a beautiful, classic Tuscan villa in the middle of vineyards. You breathe a sigh of relief, and all your tension dissolves once you step foot inside. A full size kitchen, large dining room table, swimming pool, comfortable furniture all add to the comfort. Petra, the owner, answered all our questions/concerns as we considered booking, and then as the date for our arrival approached. Although a little far from some of the more popular hill towns (Montepulciano was an hour+; Lucca almost 2 hours), it is quite close to Radda and Gaiole. Both have great restaurants and are lovely towns in which to stroll for an afternoon or evening. Petra put us in contact with a chef, who came to the house one evening and cooked a typical Tuscan dinner, which was one of the highlights of the trip! We had enough leftovers for another meal! My friends and I reminisce fondly of our week at the villa and look forward to returning.

Dear Petra
This was are 5th stay at Villa Lisador, which is an indication of how much we enjoy the house and where it is situated. We really like the swimming pool and tennis court. The accommodation is quite basic although very comfortable. I suppose someone way want slightly more modern kitchen and bathrooms, but this does not effect our enjoyment of the house.
One small area of improvement could be ensuring all of the "essentials" are there on arrival, like milk, bin liners, loo roll, olive oil, charcoal for bbq, dish washer tablets - salt and rinse agent.
My wifie Heidi is a architect and thought the property had scope to convert the downstairs which is currently storage and perhaps get more light in the property and improve the views from the living space. I hope you don't mind me mentioning this, but we thought it was an interesting idea. There would obviously be financial implications to do this and then the rental would be higher etc.
I will look at you other villas again and we will consider coming again next year.
Best wishes
Andrew

Wonderful Family Holiday
We stayed at Villa LisiDor May 5-12, 2012, there was 5 of us including our 4 year old son. The Villa was in a wonderul location and gave us the Tuscan experience that we were looking for. We spent most of our time doing day trips to surrounding villages and as far as Montalcino. The Villa was also very close to Lecchi in Chianti where we did all our grocery shopping and ate at Ristorante Malborghetto many times, probably our favorite restaurant! Our son loved the lizards and the tennis courts, we spent at least an hour a day playing. The Villa and surrounding property are beautiful, clean and well maintained. We would highly recommend Villa LisiDor and hope to return one day!

Stunning Week in Radda
We rented the villa in the first week of May and had an excellent stay. We were a group of 7 people and there was more than enough space for all of us. The grounds are so spacious and remote though easy to find thanks to the directions from Petra.
The villa itself is very cosy and contained all the necessary ingredients for a great family holiday. We made full use of the tennis courts and the pizza oven which was amazing once we got the hang of it. The advice of the friendly housekeeper came in handy here though the language barrier probably prevented us from getting his full message.
The bedrooms were spacious and the kitchen facilities practical. Unfortunatley the weather didnt make for great swimming conditions but in summer I could see it being used every afternoon.
We loved the nearby towns and found day trips to Siena and Florence quite convenient. We sampled a number of the local restuarants and visited a few wineries which were great and easy to find.
Overall, I would highly recommend hiring this villa if you're looking for a carefree, relaxing holiday in idyllic surroundings with world-class wineries and fantastic authentic Italian restaurants virtually on your doorstep. We would definitely return.

Family Vacation
Our family of 5 stayed a week exploring Tuscany and the location of the villa made traveling to Siena, Florence, etc quite easy. We loved all the beauty of the views from the cottage as well as the beauty of the cottage. The cottage is excellent for a family of 5 or 6. My daughter couldn't wait to side out in the sun and try the pool. Lots of areas to explore as many walking trails intersect within 100 meters of the cottage. Petra arranged bike rentals for us (they were waiting when we arrived) as well as having some local ladies come to the cottage and cook a fabulous 4 course dinner. She is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. She even called during our stay to make sure everything was OK. I would HIGHLY recommend this cottage to families or 2 couples who want an excellent location at a good value.
