I recommend. Everything's fine.

- Apartment was clean and spacious with a large balcony - Large and clean pool - Close to beach and nice restaurants - Very quiet area (start of October) - Effective airconditioning in bedroom and living room - Amazing weather in October

- Supermarkets not nearby (closest was a 20 minute walk), car advisable - There was a weird smell in the bathroom... (coming out of the shower drain) - The WIFI was not great (especially in the living room) - Kitchen needs more utensils/pans/cleaning stuff/basic cooking equipment (maybe some olive oil and salt+pepper) - In late September/October, mosquitoes were very prevalent in the room - FYI, the town is very small and quiet. Taormina is more touristy and has boat tours, trips to Etna etc.

Kind and helpful host; spacious apartment with its own big terrace; nice pool (although a little bit cold) with some shade and comfortable sunbeds; secure parking for hire car; use of communal bicycle was very handy for when we didn't have a car; quiet location (at this time of year anyway), but very near to a handful of restaurants and the beach;

Public transport options in the area were not very good (saw bus stops, but never a bus or timetable!); local mini-market closed for the season on 21st Sept, which meant nearest bakery was in Mascali and 1.8km (by bike!) - and it was further to nearest open supermarket - but some closures may have been due to Covid). Local restaurants all seemed to offer mainly fish (or pizza) - not much variety if you eat meat!

The beds were hard and you could feel the spirals inside. We used the additional sleeping bags on top of the mattress to make the bed softer, which worked
