Mooie grote kamer op de begane grond
We waren 10 minuten te vroeg voor de officiële incheck tijd en moesten van de mannelijke receptionist eigenlijk buiten in de regen wachten. !!!!!
Na een woordenwisseling mochten we toch binnen ( we hadden een vroegere incheck tijd doorgegeven)
Gasten die na ons kwamen moesten wel buiten wachten.
Ook slecht dat er amper Engels werd gesproken
Er was een afval verzamelplek vlak bij de parkeerplaats van het hotel

Les chambres sont spacieuses, en excellent état et propres. Le restaurant est de très bonne qualité. La localisation est proche de La Rochelle
Déception en revanche sur 2 points:
Vendredi soir, le restaurant était privatisé pour une soirée privée. Nos chambres étaient attenantes au restaurant: il y a eu de la musique jusqu'à 2h30 du matin...
Le SPA est en panne depuis plusieurs semaines et cela ne nous a pas été signalé avant notre arrivée.

Très bon accueil, personnel à l'écoute et disponible. Le restaurant 123 parfait! le choix du menu 123 les plats sont goûteux et raffinés un régal. Petit déjeuner à volonté. Chambre spacieuse peignoir à disposition. Proche du pont de l'ile de Ré
Chambre un peu sombre fenêtres pas accessibles trop hautes, dommage de ne pas pouvoir profiter de la vue sur le parc.
Le frigo, petit impossible de mettre une grande bouteille. Le hammam pas assez chaud tout petit 4 personnes maximum. Pas de sauna. Un peu excentré.

great staff service both at the reception & at the restaurant. Dog friendly & our room had direct access to the large garden.
A few things that didn’t seem great with the modernisation of the interiors of the building; the doors to rooms just didn’t feel right. Overall a good hotel.

It was quiet, way too quiet to my liking. They could have done so much with a castle that they have. It was just a bit disappointing really. All I can say is that its a good place if you want to be left alone with not much going on at all.
I didn't feel like I was staying in a 4 star hotel and just another ordinary hotel. There wasn't that extra special effect. The staff hardly spoke to us. I didn't even know what services they offered. There wasn't that customer service effect that you normally find in 4 stars. We were also the only ones eating breakfast, I saw no one else, not even the staff was there to ask us what we wanted.

A beautiful chateau hotel, with a lovely spa and pool area, very pleasant staff and a lovely location for sightseeing La Rochelle and Ile De Re.
Poor breakfast choice, we were later in the sittings but I would expect the buffet to be kept stocked, for the price we paid I felt very underwhelmed.

We travelled with our dog, the staff were very welcoming, the room excellent, it led our onto the grounds which was very good with our dog.

I had a room with bedroom and bathroom located in two levels at the room. Not very convenient to elder people.

It has been sympathetically restored whilst accounting for the comfort expected by guests. The dining room opens onto the garden so we had a lovely dinner overlooking the gardens with hoopoes feeding close to the table. The room was large and comfortable with a fridge and coffee making facilities.
It was quite hard to find- the property was beyond Lagord’s boundary so we spent some time thinking that we were lost, when really we were heading in the right direction.

Everything went very smoothly, we enjoyed our stay and we particularly like the whole experience because having travelled during the day it was nice too stay put for an evening meal. We look forward to returning, and have indeed booked our next night with you.
