This home was really well stocked and clean. It is beautiful on the inside and easy access. We were very comfortable and enjoyed our time there.

This property was perfect for a vacation. It was very clean and well decorated. The downstairs would be a perfect place for older kids to hang out in the evenings or on rainy days. We saw the wild horses everyday we were there and that itself was a great experience. We really enjoyed the seclusion of this vacation. Kevin, the property owner, was very responsive to our texts and gave us information about anything we wanted to know. Would definitely recommend this place. We have had better results with VRBOs that have individual property owners versus large companies bc you get great individual attention/response. Kevin did not disappoint!

Our stay was fantastic! The property was just like it was listed, and absolutely gorgeous. Check-in was easy and I didn’t have to hunt any info down, everything was sent well in advance, along with tips for driving on the beach and tide info. We didn’t end up using the kayaks, etc. but it was still great to have the option. House was super clean and stocked with everything we needed for the week. Our dogs loved it too, and we saw lots of horses every day, they loved to come right up to the deck. The owner is fantastic! We absolutely loved it, and will definitely be back!

My boyfriend and I booked a long weekend getaway with our pup to celebrate my birthday and it was everything I had hoped for! We were specifically looking for a pet-friendly home since this would be the first beach vacation with our 1 yr old Labrador puppy. She had a BLAST and it truly made our experience that much more memorable! The house is in an excellent location, just 1 row back from the beach and only a few houses down from the beach access. It was very clean and just as described in the listing. It had everything we needed and was fully stocked with kitchenware, clean linens, cleaning supplies, and access to all kinds of beach gear which were all in good condition. We also loved the hot tub, the large deck facing the beach, and put the grill to good use! Kevin is a great host and is very personable, instantly making a connection with him! We reached out with a few questions before our trip and he was extremely responsive, even giving us a call to answer all of our questions thoroughly. Kevin offered great suggestions to enhance our vacation and continued to be responsive throughout our stay. He even reached out toward the end of our trip to inform us that no one would be checking in on the day that we check-out, welcoming us to stay as long as we'd like on our last day! Totally unexpected and such a great surprise! In all of my experience as a renter, I have never had a host offer that!! We will definitely be staying here again and can't wait to come back!

My family with two small kids stayed for a week, last week of summer 2023. The house was perfect for us and had room for more. Its always nice to be able to bring our dog as well. We saw wild horses every day. 4x4ing in and out was always a treat and adults and kids loved it. The location is perfect. The house was very clean and very well appointed. We had everything we needed. Kevin was a perfect host with great suggestions and tips to improve our stay. He was very responsive from the time we booked. We are absolutely going to book this house again.

The property was perfect for our family of 5 and our pup. It had everything you could need in the kitchen and was very clean all around. The hot tub was a plus in the evenings. There were horses on the property nearly every day which was incredible! We parked our car on the beach every day with the provided passes. Bring whatever food you may need unless you have a true 4WD vehicle and have no problem with a 30 min drive on the beach (GPS can lead you onto some softer sand, don’t listen to it once you get to the beach access road, stay straight for 8 miles). Deliveries to this area will come with a typical $100 delivery fee. You can get ice and tshirts at the nearby firehouse. We also found a few ticks which are common in OBX so make sure to check after walking around. Overall great memories made and we will definitely look to come back and rent with this owner again. He was always responsive and very helpful.

It was our first trip to Carova Beach but not our last. The house and beach delivered all that we hoped for. Perfect location to the beach and canal. We saw horses daily which was amazing! The house was perfect for my family of 7. It was stocked with everything we needed from pots and pans to kayaks and boogie boards. Kevin was so responsive to my questions and was a great host. We had a week of true relaxation!!

The house is 1 lot back from the beach and several houses down from the beach access road. Kevin, the owner of the property was very helpful and lives nearby if there are any issues with the property. Kevin dropped off a large cooler with ice for our coolers when needed. The house is well equipped with everything you need including linens, fully stocked kitchen ware, cleaning supplies, beach chairs, kids beach toys, kayaks (3)...etc.

This house is perfect for a stay at the beach. I particularly liked the huge, enclosed outdoor shower which we used almost every day. All of the outdoor beach chairs, umbrellas, kayaks, etc. all worked and were in good condition. The house itself was efficient and well laid out.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our week at Kevin’s lovely house. Kayaks for an enjoyable ride with the launch extremely close. Relaxing in a hot tub with wild horses grazing nearby. Comfortable beds, large kitchen and a family area with a newer tv with a clear picture. The Horses visited almost daily. Just a short walk to the beach. Would definitely stay again!

What a beautiful property! Our family got to take a break and enjoy the sunrises, horses, and fishing that this area had to offer. The house has a lot of items that we needed to make the week super enjoyable. We packed enough food so we didn't have to go back into town and got to spend our evenings in the hot tub! Thank you for such a great stay!

We stayed here Sunday-friday . The house was perfect for our group of friends. The house was clean , had items to use at beach which was very close .and we had horses in the yard, surrounding properties and beach daily. We would definitely stay again ❤️

This was the perfect getaway for my husband and I along with our dog. Great accommodations and the owner was great to deal with. Perfect place to get away and relax and unwind.

My family and I enjoyed our time here! The location was perfect as it was a stones throw away from the beach. Very quiet and saw the horses everyday we were there! Kevin had great communication throughout and the house was immaculate when we arrived. Fully stocked kitchen and plenty of beach accessories for the kids and grown ups!

Had a problem with Wi-Fi the first, but Kevin promptly responded and resolved the issue. The property is older, but you can see that they have made improvements to it and it was nicer and cleaner than expected from the pictures. We fell in love with the Nags Head chairs on the deck and ordered some for our home as well.

The house is up date and comfortable. Location to the beach is a 5min walk. Great place to make memories. Kevin is a great host.

An older property, but the inside living area was very nicely redone. Not one complaint from anyone in out party. It has all the beach toys for both adults and kids to enjoy as well as a hot tub for relaxing after a day on the sand and in the surf.

First trip with dog and hold family!! Good times were had by all!!

The house was so clean and had everything a guest could possibly need. Just bring shampoo and food, and your set! This was great for us because we brought 2 teens, a 10 year old, 2 adults and a large dog in one vehicle. The house having towels, extra blankets, aluminum foil, ice trays, games, beach chairs, and so much more was amazing. It saved us so much space in our vehicle and made our 18 hour drive a lot more comfortable. The house was freshly painted and beautifully decorated. It was very clean and smelled fresh. One of our teens commented that it did not smell like a house that allowed pets, which is high praise from a teen! The distance from the beach was great! We saw horses everyday as well. Horses were at the house and on the beach. We had a great experience with Kevin at Carova Beach and would not hesitate to book again.

House was well kept, convenient to the ocean/sound, and we saw horses right in are yard. Great getaway! The owner communicated from stat to finish so that we got the most out of our stay.

Carova Beach house was a great place to stay off the beaten path. We stay with family during thanksgiving week and all had a great time. Enjoyed the easy walking to the beach and seeing the wild horses. The house was in great shape and can not say enough great things about the owner, Kevin. Very friendly and helpful at all times. He takes very good care of his house and it shows. We definitely stay here again.

We stayed for a week and the house was great. We saw the horses at least once a day each day of our stay. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfortable. The house is a little older but clean and well maintained. Would definitely stay again if we wanted to stay on the 4x4 beach section.

Everything about this vacation was perfect....from the immaculate accommodations, the floor plan that allowed privacy, to Everything you could possibly think of needing for vacation...it was there. The owner Kevin was very friendly, incredibly responsive to our questions, and gave us great advice on how to make our vacation even better. We were so comfortable with the house that we only went into town once for a horse tour....there was no need to eat out WI the fully functional and very well equipped kitchen. All the great reviews about this property are spot on. Was worried about the possibility of hurricanes in September but we lucked out with perfect weather. Could not have had a better vacation!

My husband and I stayed here for a week and had I found it last year, I would have booked 2 weeks plus! The house isn’t the super fancy expensive mansions on the beach and was just perfect for us. It was SO clean and the beach my decor were so spot on that I was disappointed when I walked back into my own home. The horse prints hung throughout were great and just enough. Love the paint colors and the floors. I had brought in EVERYTHING we’d need and was really surprised that that there were already paper towels, napkins, dish soap, trash bags, dishwasher tabs (looks like a brand new dishwasher which you generally don’t find in the huge houses)—big deal when you’re up the 4x4 beach. I loved the retro glass storage containers in the kitchen, the heavy duty blender, there was a Keurig and a drip coffee maker, toaster oven/air fry combo that I’m now going to buy. I even loved the tiny retro washer and dryer. The house had actual matching silverware. The owners were just so thoughtful about making the house a home away from home. And horses came by every day…even walked under the house. I think the house must be part of their daily trek/routine. They just calmly munched the grass while I watched from the patio. Houses across the street didn’t secure their garbage so the horses tore into it nightly. We didn’t have that problem—the cans were under the house, we secured the lid, and only took out trash towards the end of our stay since it was just the 2 of us. I thought it would be too buggy to sit outside in the evening without a screened in porch but it was mostly fine. Though I had bought some bug cream before heading up 12. We drove and walked to the beach—easy! Kevin was super responsive and offered advice before we got there. I could go on and on. Great house, rent it!!

After the chaos of 2020 our family of 7 adults needed a getaway and this home was perfect. The drive in on the beach was intense since it was Labor Day weekend. None of us got stuck- but we did see others get stuck. Being from states that get snow we were mostly comfortable driving in the sand which felt like driving in snow. The home was perfect and comfortable for all of us. The owner had plenty of things for us to use from kitchen supplies to beach supplies. We saw horses daily and as we were leaving Friday morning we had 5 sleeping in the side yard by the hot tub- what a send off! The walk to the beach was not very far most times we chose to walk the road not the beach access path over the dune though. Kevin was wonderful talking with us and answering our questions. Be prepared to drive an hour on the beach to and from the house. All 7 of us adults were comfortable with room to spread out and relax and not feel like we were cramped. The bedrooms were all laid out nicely too. We really can’t say enough about the property.

Can’t say enough good about this property and owner. We just spent a week there with 6 adults and an infant. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Large table so that we could all sit together to eat. Kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. Beds were very comfy. Beach house was very clean when we arrived. We saw horses in the yard everyday. The owner was great at communicating. He went above and beyond. Lots of rain the week before we went so he told us best way to get to house. We ordered live crabs and he allowed us to use his cooker and steam pots. We are definitely going back when we get the chance.

We just came back from Carova beach the day before yesterday. Everyone has a blast on the beach. Kevin is a great host, the house is clean, very well maintained. Location is very convient. The floor plan is perfect for 2 families. Each side of the house has 2 bed rooms and 1 rest room, good for one family. Kevin responded to our question quickly before and during our trip, he even offered to pull the kayaks to boat ramp for us. The jaccuzzi is good relaxing place after playing on the beach the whole day. Just make sure bring enough food in, driving from the house to the park is 35 minutes on beach, and restaurants over the park is pretty busy, average waiting time is at least 1 hour. The beach is never crowded, always felt like your own private beach. The water is warm, and we enjoyed our stay so much.

There were 8 adults and one baby, we had looked for homes in the Carova area for three reasons, 1) beach away from the crowd 2) see the ponies 3) able to drive on beach so that we didn't have to tote everything everyday, load the truck and leave it loaded all week. Found this house and it had it all. The owner was extremely helpful even though we weren't entirely unfamiliar with area. There were two full size refrigerators, a mini fridge and a chest freezer. we were able to take everything we wanted in on the first day. we put 80 lbs of ice in chest freezer and it lasted all week. The first night we got in hot tub and watched the ponies graze around the yard. The house came with 4-5 beach chairs, boogie boards and the outside shower also had hot water. This house is not the Ritz Carlton, but everything you would ever need for a week at the beach away from the crowds. In the evenings you could sit on the deck and watch the ponies as the sun went down in a quiet and peaceful setting. it was less than a 3 minute walk to beach in the mornings t watch the sun come up. We loved this property and location. The host was wonderful-so helpful Prior to our visit. The house had everything we could need or want. The layout was perfect for a family with adult kids. We were also very appreciative that we could bring our dog. Carova beach is an amazing area-quiet and great beach. We also loved kayaking in the sound. The property was equipped with all we needed for that too. We saw horses every day!
