I've stayed at this hotel many times and enjoy it. The staff is accommodating, polite and professional. Each room has a different character but all are good. Great breakfast spread and other snacks are in the lobby. I'm always comfortable at this hotel.

The pillows are quite flat for my liking so I usually stack two.

Proximity to old Town, Christmas market, sites, shopping and restaurants was excellent. On-site restaurant Luitpold was our go to for dining, cocktails and dessert!! The best potatoe soup EVER! Amazing breakfast buffet we attended every morning. Rooms and hotel have a historical feel.

Our room was beautiful, spacious and very comfortable. The staff were amazing, always friendly and helpful. It was a happy bonus that there is a brewery (Sterla) just around the corner that also served good local food. Good location if travelling by train as we.were.

The elevator was a little annoying but this really wasn't a big deal.

The staff at the reception was unable to speak english, unacceptable in a 4 stars hotel. In the bathroom there was no trashbag in the bin and they put every detergent but shampoo. When we had breakfast at the buffet, nobody told us that you pay what you get, and it is not, as usual, just a fixed cost for everything you take. Overall disappointing rooms for what I paid. Very poor choice and exaggerated price paid 40 euros just for few croissant, few tarts and two cappuccinos. I also got charged for "sausages and cheese" which we did not take, but I was too mad to go back and question it. It is ridiculous to have a buffet breakfast, and the staff people just snitch around you to see what you get at the buffet, and of course they don't check properly and make mistakes charging you for things you did not take. Just have breakfast around in the city and DO NOT have breakfast in the hotel. Still due to the lack of communication I asked at the reception if I could park my car inside or if it was fine to leave it at the entrance where it was parked already just by paying the cost of the public park and I was told ro put the car in. So for only one evening I had not only to move the car but to pay 25 euros instead of leaving it where it was already just for few euros. It is not acceptable that a receptionist can't and even does not try to speak english in a 4 star hotel in a touristic city like Bamberg.

Location was excellent! And for parents and dog owners, it was perfect—right by a playground and a green space. We enjoyed the adjoining bar/restaurant and parking was convenient. We appreciated that the hotel was dog friendly.

We were surprised that there was no air conditioning for a 4 star hotel, though of course we know it is an historic building. We were also confused that they didn’t serve a 4 star breakfast, though we also knew this at booking—it was the only property available at the time. Our room overlooked the bar/playground, which didn’t bother us, but May be considered noisy for some guests.

The location was excellent; the beds were very comfortable; the parking was convenient and easy to access. Overall a great stay at this hotel.

Excellent location, beautiful architecture and furnishings. Lovely views across the city. Large room with air conditioning for which I was charged extra!! Secure underground parking.

Soft mattress, shower in bath without non slip shower mat dangerous for us old people! No bathrobes. Being charged extra for air conditioning and €25 for parking.

the only issue was the noise outside in the streets at night. that isn’t the fault of hotel, though.

Very stylish historical building with the creaking floors and large staircases. Rooms were spacious and location was perfect for visiting the historical parts of the city.

Having to pay for each little additional item at breakfast. A single fee showing inclusions/exclusions would be better. The lift was very small and slow so don't have lots of luggage and don't be in a hurry.
