This property is ideally located for visiting the Pyrenees Orientales area. A short walk into both Collioure and Port Vendres. The property is well laid out and well equipped the views from both balconies are lovely.
The location is also a good base to travel out from. We travelled to Ceret, which has a fabulous Saturday market, and the area around it. We travelled into Spain to the Gulf of Roses the journey around the high coast road was spectacular. We visited several beaches at Argeles and Banyuls Sur Mer all different in their own right. Our favourite location was Collioure a place we have visited several times before. A lovely atmosphere nice restaurants and a characterful market on Sundays and Wednesdays which extents into lazy lunches.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Good value.

Collioure trip
Had a lovely stay in Collioure, the accomodation, location, weather and people were all excellent and would recommend anyone to come visit there if they can, we are missing being there already! Hoping to book another trip there soon!

Two week stay in June 2019
The house was lovely - immaculately clean and very well furnished - and made us feel as if we were staying in our own home. There are beautiful views from the balconies to the sea and the elevated position above the adjoining local street made it very quiet. The communal pool is high quality and very well maintained and a delight to use. Highly recommended!

Second stay at this well appointed apartment
This was our second stay at this apartment. Which is ideally located in the attractive small town of Collioure, with a easy walk to the beaches and restaurants. All in all a great base for a relaxing holiday.

Lovely apartment in a fantastic location
This apartment was spotlessly clean and a great size. The living room/kitchen has a fantastic view of the sea and a really good sized terrace. The upstairs bedrooms were of a decent size and the main bedroom also has a fantastic view from the terrace. It is only a short stroll of about 15mins from here to the beautiful small town of Collioure with its abundance of restaurants. The only suggestion I would make is that the bathroom could do with a shower curtain fitted.

Collioure is a very nice village and not too crowded. The house is spacious enough for a family of four and at walking distance from the sea and town although it is a steep walk back. The pool is also nice and well maintained. The only thing we missed was a shower (there is a bath without curtain or glass wall) and a bigger fridge.

The house is very comfortable and was easy to keep cool in the very hot weather. The pool was well kept, busy during the day, but lovely first thing in the morning with the sun coming up. The nearest beach is 10 minutes walk and although pebbly, the waters were crystal clear and lovely for swimming. The views from the balcony were spectacular, especially as we had a couple of electrical storms where the whole sky was lit up. It takes about 10 mins to walk into Collioure (15 to walk back up the hill) so is very convenient and we enjoyed walking in in the evening for a meal, drink or ice cream. Collioure is a beautiful town, buzzing in the high season with music and art exhibitions around the harbour. We were also lucky enough to be there for Bastille Day fireworks and France winning the World Cup. We traveled by train, London, to Paris to Perpignan and then the local train to Collioure. This was a very relaxing and surprisingly easy way to get to there. we then managed without a car for the week.
Thank you to Mark for the ease of booking and for sorting out our queries. In summary and well appointed, comfortable property in a beautiful area of France. We are looking forward to going back, at a slightly quieter time of year.

Excellent apartment in a wonderful location
A well appointed comfortable apartment in a wonderful location, plenty of walking and things to do in the area, in and around the historic town of Collioure. Will visit again in the future.

we liked the house, it offers enough room for parents plus kids. There are two balconies with a nice view to the sea. The kitchen is equipped with a washing machine and a dish washer, that we did appreciate quite a bit! There are two small electric hotplates and there is an italian espresso machine, that fits onto one of the hotplates, which we loved to use. The kitchen is equipped with some simple tools, but with good planning of the meals we managed to do some great cooking anyway. Just watch out for the garbage containers, they are not easy to find, as they are in an extra area beside the road. We felt save and comfortable and the heating in the house worked super good, so we had it warm even though the nights still were cold and got some rain during our stay. The wifi and the TV worked fine as well and we even watched a British Movie as there were a few at the house.
As we were there in spring, we can't say anything about the swimming pool, the whole holiday complex though is nice, quiet, well looked after and you can also sit at the front side of the house and enjoy the sun, as that is the sunny side.
The area around there is fantastic, we absolutely liked it and Collioure is the best place to be! We did lot's of walks and combined that with visits of museums, castles and little villages or cities, absolutely great!
We can asolutely recommend staying there!

A lovely, well equipped apartment
This is a lovely apartment and we had a fantastic time. The kitchen is well equipped (with a particularly impressive collection of chopping knives - a bugbear of ours is that holiday apartments often have terrible knives!) - there are two hobs, and a microwave which also does roasting, grilling etc. The large living room leads onto a nice balcony with great sea views. Upstairs the two bedrooms are comfortable (one has a balcony) and the bathroom is very nice. The apartment is a walk from the town - no more than 15 minutes unless you have dawdling kids in tow as we did. Collioure itself is a nice place, with lots of places to eat, a series of small beaches and a great harbour walk. If you like massive sandy beaches then Argeles, about 15 minute drive away, is a good bet.

Amazing location & home from home
A perfect location between Collioure & Port Vendres this house is a fantastic place to stay. The property is very well equipped and has superb views of the sea from its 2 balconies. We have stayed in several properties in this area over the last 10 years and this is the only one we have returned to, this year for the third time. The pool area is immaculately maintained and, even at the height of the summer season, is quiet and secluded. The property is extremely well maintained and the owners make the booking process very straight forward and easy. There are so many wonderful places to visit in the area and eating out is an absolute dream! The weather was superb - around 30 degrees every day - the best we've ever had. We will definitely stay again in the future.

Great apartment in a beautiful holiday resort
Great apartment with lovely views and a shared pool. A lovely walk to the town with it's gorgeous beaches, harbour and castle. The apartment was exactly as described and very clean and well kept. The pool area was very secure and maintained to a high standard. The town itself is definitely one if the prettiest we've visited. Would happily recommend both resort and apartment to family and friends. Thank you, we had a lovely holiday.

Excellent accommodations!
Our family of three totally enjoyed our stay in Mark Hamlet's place in Collioure! The home is indeed beautiful and fully equipped (including Wifi). The views from both balconies are gorgeous. The development where the house is located is an invigorating and lovely 15-20 minute walk into town, which is imperative as parking in Collioure can be a challenge. There is also a beautiful walk up the hill behind the house up to the windmill and the fort (with museum) at the top. We were there before the pool season, but that would be a nice addition to a lovely accommodation. We recommend it highly!

The property was lovely and was fully equipped. Everything was very clean and bedding of a high standard. The balconies were a real bonus and the views of the sea were spectacular. It was easy to walk into town and harbour along the sea front and we did this every day. There is also a bus service costing€1 that can take you into town or along the cost and to Perpignan. Would love to go back to the appartment next year. It was perfect for us.

Great accomodation in beautiful Collioure
Our family stayed in this property for 1 week at the end of May. We found the accommodation was very suitable for our family of five - although there are only 2 bedrooms there was access to a pull out bed in the sitting room and this worked well for our needs. The property was well maintained and was within walking distance of the village although it is an uphill return walk. Car parking is very restricted in the village so it is important that you are prepared to walk. Collioure is a beautiful place and we would highly recommend it as a holiday destination. The owner was very helpful and we would have no hesitation in recommending his property.

Lovely, spacious apartment
Our family of four was very pleased with this apartment. It is much more spacious than the photos suggest and there are wonderful ocean views from both balconies. My husband is a road cyclist and found the surrounding area perfect for long rides. Our only real quibble is that there is no wi-fi. We were aware of this when we booked, but it does make a big difference in terms of convenience as we use it for everything. Other than that, we had a very happy week here and enjoyed exploring this very pretty town.

A wonderful holiday home in a fantastic location
We have holidayed in this region of France many times and this property is the best we've stayed in by far. The house is immaculately presented with excellent amenities including a very efficient washing machine and dishwasher - and the pool is a great bonus. The owners make it very easy to book and access to the property on arrival is very straight-forward.The location is within easy walking distance of both Collioure and Port Vendres, enabling experience of the two very different places, but is very quiet. The views are wonderful - we loved to wake up and open the shutters to reveal an amazing view of the sea each morning! Travelling further afield around the region is very easy without a car - local buses are around 1 euro to most places, and trains run frequently and are also reasonably priced. If, like us, you have older children, there is a reduced train fare for under 25s before 12 noon. There is so much to do: from scuba diving or boat trips, to visiting amazing galleries, or just wandering around the narrow streets in Collioure. The weather was wonderful when we visited - generally around 30 degrees - and we certainly made good use of the pool to cool down! We will definitely be visiting again in the future.

A lovely apartment in a good location.
The property was very comfortable and well equipped. The views from both downstairs and upstairs of the bay were stunning. We used the swimming pool quite a bit (a few steps from the property) and enjoyed sunbathing and swimming there. The pool and surrounding area was very well maintained. It was early in the season so we didn't encounter that many other guests there and it was really nice to have it so close by.
Collioure is a very picturesque and lively place with very nice beaches and lots of restaurants/cafes. We hired a car but we noted that there was a very good We booked this week at the last moment and it turned out to be a gem.

Fab villa, fantastic stay in Collioure
Stayed for a week in the villa at the end of July, the property was great, exactly what we wanted and what had been advertised. The villa was clean and very well maintained with a nice pool just a few steps away. The views from the balcony are amazing. Location was great, just a short walk into Collioure or the other way into Port Vendres. There are numerous shops, cafe's and restaurants in Collioure and also a little supermarket, which is a little on the expensive side. A 10 minute walk the other way towards Port Vendre and there is a large Lidl was is very reasonably priced and caters for all your needs. A fantastic weeks holiday, could have stayed longer, would definitely visit again.

Great apartment and location in Collioure
We had a very nice stay in this apartment, and spent a wonderful week in Collioure. It is just short walk into town, which is good since parking is an issue in Collioure itself. We had no problems parking our car in the street below the apartment.
Great view of the Mediterranean.
Great beaches in town for small children, and a nice playground too. I would recommend the apartment and location in general for those who wish to enjoy a quiet holiday in a beautiful area, with plenty of options for day-trips and excursions.

Enjoyable Stay in Collioure
We had an excellent holiday in Collioure this year. It has a wonderful location between the sea and the mountains, lots of picturesque historic buildings and plenty of activities for those who want them. Just as importantly, it doesn't have the amusement arcades, noisy nightclubs and ugly developments that blight many European holiday resorts. Although there were many English people in Collioure during our stay, the British holiday 'culture' was noticeable by its absence. Those who want this should probably go to the bay of Palma or the Spanish costas. Collioure is more suitable for older visitors although families with young children would probably like it as well. I should also mention the tourist office in the town which was extremely helpful.
The house was very much as described on the site: nice and clean, well equipped and comfortable. The location on the edge of town, about halfway between Collioure centre and Port Vendres, was quiet. We didn't have a car but found that we could walk into either place quite easily. There is also pretty good public transport.
We would have liked to have had Wi-fi access during our stay. We had a mobile broadband dongle for our laptop but this proved totally useless. There is public internet access in Collioure in a funny little office tucked away on a side street; you definitely couldn't call it a cafe. My son would have liked to be able to catch up with his email and social media back at the house.
One minor point was that we had paid extra for towels to be provided. It would have been helpful if there had been a hand towel available for the kitchen, particularly as their was no washbasin in the downstairs lavatory. There was also no washing-up bowl.
The pool was rather disappointing. This is a communal facility and not under the control of Mr Hamlet. Nevertheless, it is a selling point for the property. We had been told that it would close at the end of September, which was part way through our holiday. Sure enough, on October Ist a sign appeared to tell us that the pool was 'ferme'. This was disappointing, particularly as there was not much evidence of any maintenance when it was open. Certainly, it was not cleaned very regularly. It was also slightly dilapidated - the changing rooms were boarded up and the shower didn't work. Despite this, we had several enjoyable swims there. It was never busy.
In spite of some minor points this property is highly recommended.

Superb Collioure House
We had an excellent stay in Collioure. The house is set in just the right quiet location outside of the centre of Collioure. The views out to sea from both balconies was fantastic. The house is very spacious and well furnished and kitted out. We loved Collioure with its old charm and plenty of restaurants. We would certainly consider coming back to Collioure again and staying at this house.

This was our first visit to Collioure. What a beautiful place with lots of fabulous restaurants. Our apartment was everything we could have wished for and just as it appears on the webpage. We would definitely recommend it to friends and family !

Beautiful Collioure - highly recommended
We stayed here for the last 2 weeks in September with another couple. The owner, Mark, sent us a key and easy to follow directions. The house was just as described, in a quiet complex on a hill about 15 minutes walk from Collioure centre, with great views of the sea and equipped with all we needed. It is part of a terrace of houses and appartments with a shared pool - which we had to ourselves. The 2 visitor parking places were occupied but we had no problem parking on the road at the top of the steps down to the house. You can relax on the balconies and watch the old fishing boats, wind surfers, or local commandos practicing - will take binoculars next time! The weather was hot and dry except for one stormy day and we walked into Collioure or Port Vendres (about 25 mins to the harbour) every day. Collioure is breathtakingly beautiful by day and night - famed for anchovies and as an artists' haven. It has pebbly beaches, clear warm sea full of fish, shops, galleries, a fortress, bars, restaurants and the clocktower. Eating out in Collioure wasn't as expensive as we expected. There is a huge choice - we enjoyed amazing fish platters in Coco Liberis, tapas in Le Clocher and moules frites and crepes in St Elme but our favourite was Le Templiers hotel bar and restaurant where the walls are covered in paintings and we shared huge portions of whitebait and calamares at lunchtime and had a really good 3 course evening meal for 18 euros. Loads to see and do in the area - galleries, local wines (visit Cellier de Templiers in Banyuls - tour + wine tasting 10 euros), markets twice a week (try 6 oysters and a glass of wine 5 euros), cliff walks, St Elme fortress above the house (amazing views and tours on the hour), hilltop Cathar castles about an hour away by car. There is a small sandy cove near to the house (10 mins stroll) with a car park above it and there are bigger sandy beaches about 20 minutes by car in either direction. No need for a car - walk or take the little train which also goes to Banyuls, Port Vendres and Argeles or the 1 euro bus - or try a boat trip. Lidl is 15 mins by foot towards Port Vendres, where there are good restaurants next to the harbour. We prepared some simple meals at home with really fresh ingredients - spaghetti with clams, chicken tagine, fish and tapas. The whole experience was brilliant - and we returned fitter and relaxed. Thank you Mark. We hope to visit your lovely house again and have recommended it to friends and family.

We had a lovely holiday. The house was done up simply but with great taste and we had everything that we needed. Central Colliour is a very pleasurable 10 min walk away along the sea front with the boats bobbing in the harbour. Loads of restaurants to chose from - wish I was there now !
5.0
This villa was a ten minute walk from the centre of Colioure which we found to be a beautiful seaside village on the mediterranean border between France and Spain. We came prepared to travel around and found it unnecessary for a week, although if you were here longer you'd probably want to be able to travel further. We were close enough to the village to walk in once or twice a day, which means that teenage kinds can get some freedom and you can have a glass or two of wine with dinner on an evening without worrying about driving. You will want to do this because the evenings in the port are a lovely experience. The shared pool wasn't too busy the rest of the time, and there are good walks in the local hills, and lots of water-based activities if that's what you need. The villa (which is one of a town-house-like row) has two balconies that are great for sunbathing or relaxing with a glass of wine in the evening. Only cautions are (1) there is a bit of a hill coming out of town, so not ideal if you're not up for that, and (2) the cooking facilities are OK for a quick snack or pasta dish, but you'd need to be patient if you want to cook a three course meal for 4. But why go to France then cook for yourself? Highly recommended.

Having never been to this region I have to admit it was gorgeous. And Collioure was probably our favour coast town in that region after exporing several others.
The house is very close to the town and has a beautiful view of the sea. I'm sure in the height of summer this area is extremely busy and parking would perhaps be an issue in town, but its only a 10 min walk.
As a family we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider booking again. Our daughter is 2.5, and the house is probably OK for most children at that age, but any younger and you might consider taking a stair gate.
All of the restaurants we visited were very nice, and several were exceptionally good for families.

This house lives up to its description on the website. We had a brilliant week long break, the house is perfectly placed to enjoy the delights of Collioure. It is a very pleasant 10 minute walk into Collioure where we had several very good meals both at lunchtime and in the evenings. Also only a short walk (25 mins) into Port Vendres and superb fishing harbour. Would recommend this property to friends and will almost definitely return. Excellent, helpful service from the owner. Thank you very much.
