House, particularly kitchen,is not very well equipped

This lovely house near the water is everything you need for a peaceful stay. Everything and more was available. We could choose in which room to sleep, because there was enough place. We had a real Icelandic feeling in the house.

Very scenic location, could have spent a few more nights there! Fresh milk from their farm, upon arrival, and plenty of games and toys for the kids, a bonus!

The steps down to the bedrooms and living area are very slippery. Two of us fell (and we hadn't been drinking)! Also, be prepared with food if arriving after 5 pm on a weekend; we drove back into Hvammstangi to get food but nothing was open.

We enjoyed the quietness of the area, and the view. The accommodation is large enough for a family and it was well equipped. I can recommend this accommodation to everybody.

This was one of my favorite stays in all of Iceland! Guðný was an excellent host that gave us detailed instructions for everything about the home. It is very eccentric with so much history! I would highly recommend reading the guestbook and seeing how the home came to be! You are also in the middle of nowhere along the water! The kitchen is extremely well-stocked and has everything you need to whip up a fantastic meal. The dining room is wonderful to share a meal with family or friends. The whole home has wonderful heating to keep everyone nice and toasty. There is a lot of hiking to do in the area (should you choose to do so). Do not miss out. I loved this place!!

House itself and all its perks were perfect, super cozy atmosphere. Location of the guesthouse is incredible. Close to the sea and when northern lights are on, you will be in the best spot to see them. Overall definitely recommended (and thanks for the bottle of milk, that was highly appreciated!)

The location was good - we woke up to a sunny day and the view from the house was amazing.

The place needs more cleaning: the bathroom smelled bad and the carpet at the bottom floor was stained pretty badly. There were dead bugs laying around, and the kitchen appliances weren't too clean. The location is awesome with good weather, but it gets pretty bad when it's raining and dark.

Location spectacular. Family history of the house was fantastic, a glimpse of old Iceland.

Closest to a perfect vacation home for a small family I can think of.

Amazing views! Family farm! Lots of good history. Fresh milk upon arrival. As soon as we stepped through the door it felt like home immediately. Cozy, clean, comfortable, warm, well done with charm and grace. Wonderful kitchen and bathroom. Real yard. Great experience all around. Great wifi. Plenty of space and comfortable beds. What more could you want? We hope to return in a winter in the near future. Truly perfect for traveling family. Private and refreshing. Great way to experience real Iceland!

Location was stunning!! Horses running right in front of the house was an incredible sight. Loved the fresh milk in the fridge too! Thank you for sharing your farm with us :)

Extremely nice and cozy house. The bottle of fresh milk was an amazing touch, as it was absolutely delicious! No problems with a late check-in or early check-out, the hosts were very responsive before our arrival in settling all details. The house's surrounding is truly breathtaking as well! We would have liked to stay there even longer.

There was fresh milk at arrival.

The cottage is part of a farm overlooking Hrútafjörður with fantastic views over the farm and the water. It is historic, homely and comfortable cottage with plenty of space outside for a barbecue or for kids to play. There are horses and cows in the paddocks around. The lounge is super comfortable with access to TV channels and some dvds to watch. The wifi was pretty good. This would be a great place for a family or group of friends to stay. And the fresh milk was awesome!

The hot water smelled a bit of sulfur. There are stairs to the bedrooms - about 5 to the upstairs one and 8 to the downstairs ones.
