Great old fashioned place

lovely comfortable room, comfy bed, crisp sheets, fab bathroom and big space overall. toiletries provided, and the room was well equipped also. Communicative and organised hosts.

few hairs in the bathroom sink, shower and some marks in the toilet (!). But otherwise it was clean throughout. The walk back up the Hill (from the Mayflower theatre) wasn’t particularly well lit, so I felt I had to get a taxi.

Best guest house we've ever stayed at, and a very friendly host. Lovely room.

Nothing everything spot on

Very clean and well maintained guest house with well equipped kitchen. The rooms were very comfortable and the ensuite bathrooms were cosy but well kept.

Parking was a little hard. There are two spaces in the driveway but if these are full then on street parking is not always available close by. I had a truck/van with show equipment in it so would be happy to pay a surcharge to guarentee driveway parking for security.

Lovely clean and great location

The Mayfair is really good value for money. The room was comfy, cosy and clean. The shared kitchen and lounge were great and well equipped.

Nothing = wish i stayed longer

Clean comfortable rooms with all you need for a pleasant stay in a good location. The use of a kitchen and a lounge area is an added bonus. The entry system was simple to use.

I suppose I missed dealing with an actual person but communication was quick and efficient and all information and instructions were clear and easy.

Room was beautiful. Facilities excellent. Would definitely stay again. Very convenient for city centre and location felt safe.

I had requested parking which hadn't been picked up and wasn't available when I arrived but was quickly resolved by Andy. Parking did seem limited so I would definitely check in advance if I stay again. And soap/shampoo dispenser in the shower would be better and more sustainable than the tiny bottle I was given. But this is a minor gripe. Overall this beats any chain hotel hands down. We'll done guys.

The check in was very straightforward. The room was lovely, very clean and tidy. We bumped into one of the owners the next morning and he was very helpful in giving us directions to our venue

The Mayfair guest house was just lovely!! I had the entire top floor to myself it was a bit of a climb up the stairs but well worth it, it was like I had a self contained unit all to myself!! I absolutely loved it!! It was exceptionally clean!! I didnt make use of the kitchen facilities but it looked like it had everything you would need!! I was given a key which belonged to a cupboard in the kitchen for me to put any dry goods in if I needed to and there was a massive kitchen range and 3 fridges if I wanted to use them. I was also given a key fob for the front day to gain access to the main house which was extremely useful especially if I was late back as well as my own room key obviously. I would 100% recommend staying at The Mayfair guest house.

I didnt like the fact upon my arrival no one was there to let me in as the owner had gone for a jog!! And when he did arrive he questioned if I was booked to come there and also I should have received a text message that morning to tell me how to gain access to the house but I'd had nothing all day!! That was the only thing that let the whole experience down, although saying that it wouldnt stop me staying there again
