This house is beautiful and spacious. The covered porches were perfect for morning coffee and we spent hours in the pool each day. Gloria was super and met us when we arrived to show us around. This was the most relaxing vacation I’ve ever had and I hope we get to return next year!!!

My family and I travel allot. We have been coming to the Keys for many of years. We have stayed in allot of hotels and rentals. La Isla Del Sueno is now the only place for us. When we rented this property on the Web from HomeAway it looked like a very nice place from the photos. When went there Gloria met us at the front of the property. She showed us all around and gave us all the information we needed to have a good stay. Her son Carlos was there also to help if need. The property was much much more then the photos showed. the place was gorgeous. It had a lot more then stated on line. You can stay on the property and not leave, it had everything you need to just relax and enjoy. You will love Gloria. She will help you and is very easy to deal with. We say go there try it "you will be back".

Beautiful House! Beautiful Property! Beautiful Location! This house and property and location far exceed what you see on the internet! We enjoyed a week of family vacation here with my son and his wife and their one year old son, his wife's parents, and our daughter and her husband. Our son brought his boat and enjoyed morning fishing, snorkeling, and sunset cruises in the evening with various members of the family. It was so nice to have such a wonderful dock to keep the boat in the water and so easy to reach the ocean through the canal. My grandson loved the swimming pool, especially the shallow end. We had drinks and barbecue for dinner in the Tiki Hut. We also enjoyed hanging out on the wrap around porch, enjoying the view of the harbor and the sunset every evening. We went to Key West one day and had breakfast and lunch out in Tavernier and Islamorada. My son and his wife went deep sea fishing on a charter boat out of Islamorada. They texted us shortly after they left and said, "There will be a fish fry tonight for dinner!" They caught mahi mahi, tuna, and other fish. Thank you, Gloria, for sharing your beautiful house with us! We would highly recommend it to our friends and relatives.

The photos, while nice, can't fully describe just how fantastic this property is. Sometimes, especially when you're renting online from a distance, there's some anxiety about whether the place will measure up. Let me assure you it will surpass your expectations. We had 6 adults and 3 children (all under the age of 4) for a family vacation and everyone was happy with the accommodations. My in-laws kept remarking on how amazing this place was, and they're already talking about returning with friends. We took full advantage of the amenities here, grilling and eating under the tiki hut, kayaking in the lagoon, swimming all day long, biking around, and lounging on the deck. Luckily, there was a good blender for the constant stream of piña coladas. The location is superb for everything the upper Keys has to offer: John Pennekamp State Park, good restaurants (I highly recommend the Brazilian steakhouse Braza Leña in Islamorada), and Mr. C's ice cream (a must!). The Winn-Dixie grocery store just down the way has everything you'll need. We took a day trip to Key West and Bahia Honda State Park, and the drive was lovely. The Everglades are within striking distance as well. If you're looking for a primo place to relax and get away from your worldly cares for awhile, this is the place for you. The house and landscaping were truly awesome and everything was sparkling clean. We had four couples and there was plenty of space to all be together or alone. The pool and tiki hut added the tropical touch we were looking for. Thanks Ed and Gloria for making our stay so perfect. We loved meeting you both, Ed we missed you at tiki time but hope your trip was good.

This place was outstanding for our recent family vacation. The pool was a big hit for the kids, and the tiki hut is a very nice place to spend the evenings. The house was very clean and beautiful and the owners were very helpful and friendly. If you're looking for a place to relax poolside in the sun, this is the place to be!

Our children and grandchildren were "blown away" by the beauty of the home. Upon arrival they quickly observed: "The photos you showed us didn't do justice to the place." We couldn't have wished for more. Not only is the home outstanding with many things to do on-site, the location is superb - close to many things and conveniently located for daytrips. We had an amazing time at the La Isla Del Sueno and this is a HUGE understatement. The house was immaculate and had every item we could have ever needed. We did buy a jar to make sun tea and hope others will take advantage of that. Some of us had forgotten hair dryers but they were provided in more than one of the bathrooms. Gloria (the owner) met us there and gave us a grand tour of the property. My husband and I have rented homes for every vacation we've taken since 2004 and have never had an owner so committed to our enjoyment as Ms. Gloria. She gave a tour and let us enjoy the property. We spent a few days just hanging at the house. Why go to a bar with a pool or tiki hut when you have your very own right there? The beds were very comfortable, the laundry facilities were great, the tiki hut was AMAZING and became the gathering spot after sundown each night. Mornings were spent having coffee on the veranda. Then it was off to the pool for relaxation or a game of pool football. Each bedroom had it's own flat screen television. The property is so big and well thought out that if you travel with a large group (like we did) you can spend time as a group or as an individual or as a couple. We made full use of the kitchen and the GIANT ice maker was great for packing coolers. The kayaks got used on several occasions. This was the first vacation I have ever had that I wish I could have stayed longer. We are already trying to figure out when we'll be down to visit again. Our one concern is the University of Miami picinic table. . . the wives had to have an intervention when the "Husker" husbands were planning to paint a Big Red "N" next to the "U" . . . silly fellas! From the minute you drive up you know you are in a special place. My wife and I arrived with our two preteens kids and our friends with their two preteen kids, two jet skis and a boat. After we dropped our bags and realized that the pictures do not describe how comfortable and perfect the house is. We went down to the basin and everyone jumped in. For the rest of the week we covered all the reefs from "Christ of the Abyss" to "Alligator Reef" and when we got back again we relalized just how perfect the house was. The kids would stay in the pool or kayaking until the sunset. Gloria and Ed are great hosts and we had some great conversations with them. Good news for them and bad news for us is that it is booking up quickly but we understand why.

The house was even better than our dreams, we couldn't have been more comfortable. We felt we had our own private resort. There were many activities available as mentioned in the previous review plus storage for our fishing rods and snorkeling gear. Lots of dock space and fresh water for rinsing our gear and boat. The canal was a short distance from the open ocean and only a couple of miles from Tavernier Creek. Ed was a marvelous host - always around when we needed him and never seen when we didn't. He took us to the local park about a half mile away so we didn't have to pay launch fees. The boat ramp was nice and the canal to the house was a very short ride. There was plenty of space for parking the cars and trailer. The house was spacious and well equipped even making dinner was enjoyable. The view from the kitchen sink is so awesome we didn't bother to use the dishwasher. Our family of 8 had plenty of space and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Even though some in our party had never been to the Keys, we still had a very hard time leaving the house. Thanks to Gloria and Ed for a marvelous vacation venue!

Perfect vacation spot for our boring family and friends of six. We had such a nice time, we hardly ever left the property.Can easily accomodate more people. Morning to night unobstructed sun in April. We were fortunate to have sunny, hot weather every day. Great place to rest and relax. In addition to four spacious bedrooms and four full bathrooms in the upper portion of the home, there is also a convenient bathroom with shower on the first floor near the pool and tiki hut. Well-equipped home with kitchen utensils, and supply of spices and some basic starter cooking items. You may want to check in before going to the grocery store, to avoid duplicating items. Great pool with comfortable lounge chairs. Pool perfect for toddlers (with supervision), as there is a 6-inch or so shallow play area in the pool. Only down side is pool is only about 4 1/2 feet deep...too shallow for treading. The good news is that the surrounding basin or "bay" was great for swimming the perimeter every afternoon. A great famly activity that takes 30-45 minutes at a relaxed pace. The pool and basin were both over 80 degrees. Kayaks, paddles, bikes, pool umbrellas kept on site. The peninsula extends out several hundred feet and has cute benches and plenty of seating areas, character and charm.The wrap-around 2nd-floor balcony also has plenty of seating for listening to the early-morning bird calls or watching the creamsickle-colored sunrise and sunset or checking out the tarpons in the basin. You can kayak or boat about 1/4 mile or so to the ocean outlet. Owner is meticulous to detail. The dishwasher malfunctioned during the 4th day of our stay and the owner had a repairman drive 1 1/2 hours from Miami to look at it the next day, They ordered a specialty fuse or part to be fed-exed overnight, even though I didn't mind washing by hand for a few days. The place was clean and flawless on arrival (and hopefully at my departure). My security deposit was fully returned less than a week after my return home. I almost hate to write a great review because I am concerned that this VRBO home won't be available when I want it, due to popular demand! Thanks Gloria for a wonderful week.

Our three grown children, their spouses and one grand baby came down to Tavenier to spend a week together with us in the Keys. We had a wonderful time in this beautiful home. The weather was perfect and the accomodations were first class. We enjoyed the pool, soaking up the sunshine, watching the fish in the canal, kayaking, and walking around the premises. Just a great place to relax and enjoy being together. Thanks so much for everything!
