Scruffy, tatty hotel. There's basic and basic, and we paid for a better room! Where should I start? Bodged repairs all over. Curtain pole on shower loose and fell on my wife in the bath. In October the Aircon will only function in heat mode, with it off the room too hot for our British blood, although I'm sure it's fine for the local people who wear scarves, hats and coats in full sunshine at 26° when we're in vests and shorts! No bedside lamps. No bedroom table. No hairdryer. Nowhere to put anything apart from a tiny wardrobe. Town is beautiful but really noisy on a Saturday night. No sleep for us until 4am when the outdoor night club/pub stopped pumping out "music" for the young people who seem to descend on Alcalà from miles around. In all honesty I don't know how local people tolerate it, the whole town seems to vibrate.

The room was very clean and the location is excellent. The lady at the reception was attentive. As one of the most affordable accommodation options in the village, it was good value for money.

The air-conditioning could never get very cold. The window of the room opened to an ugly indoor courtyard where other guests could smoke, and so the smell would enter the room if the window is left open.

Needs updating. Faulty key operation in door to room, not possible to lock at night! Shower not good,plenty of hot water but shower hose not fixed and moved around like a snake.

Stunning place to visit. Good big room so plenty room for our bikes.

Lighting in room - no bedside lights or even switches for main lights. Check-in was complicated as you go to an office building across the road.

Lovely, plentiful breakfast, served and prepared by very polite and delightful staff. Rooms were very clean and tidy, good value.

Could not fault anything. Staff were great and helpful, breakfast was one of the best we had on our trip. It's location is spot on for exploring the town, great atmosphere and a great place to spend a few nights.

Although the hotel is simple, the rooms are more than ok and have all you need to spend a comfortable night. You can’t be located more centrally in this small, picturesque town. Recommended.

Location was the only good point

Cleanliness, shabby cracked tiles, no COVID-19 precautions. Very noisy no sound proofing between rooms.
