The room was a bit cramped, but everything had been thought of and everything worked. Only the door lock was a bit troublesome

Lovely friendly welcome , very helpful with our where to eat and directions to places .Very clean , great tea / coffee facilities and perfect breakfast !

A little noise / music from the bar next door until around midnight

Clare was very welcoming, we arrived a bit wet after a long walk in the rain so our room on the top floor with a bath was just what we needed. Beautiful decor, lovely room with everything we could need. Breakfast was delicious. Would recommend and love to return:0)

The host, she was very nice. The room was clean and comfortable.

The owner/manager was very kind, she even moved her own car to make room for ours. The room was smallish but pretty and well-appointed, and there were enough power points to charge 3 phones and a toothbrush! We enjoyed breakfast at a shared table, with the opportunity to chat to some other guests.

If you have a choice, ask for a room that doesn't overlook the street, as that can get quite noisy with both vehicles and people outside the restaurant next door. Windows on the other side of the house give onto the river, you can hear it whispering at night :)

Nothing I can think of

A car parking space was reserved for us at the front of the property and Clare welcomed us before we even rang the doorbell. Room 3 is at the front with a pub next to it, so we expected a bit of noise but there was none. The room was comfortable, nicely decorated and furnished in a traditional way. We had a timed slot for breakfast which meant that Clare was able to cook everything freshly and it was excellent. The location of the property could not have been better as it is in the centre of the town with easy access to High and Low Force which is where we wanted to visit.

Clare was so very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. She knows her to provide excellent service. Every detail and the facilities provided had been carefully thought about. She gave great advice on things to do and see. The cooked breakfast was a delight, a filling delight, and certainly set you up for the day! We will certainly be booking again when in the area.

Friendly host, comfortable bed with plenty of room

The rooms could do with an upgrade,very old fashioned decor. Breakfast very basic,but matched price paid,but was still enjoyable,no gluten free cereal available. Didn't particularly like the set up at breakfast,sat around one table with other guests.

Our stay at Belvedere house was excellent. The house is very clean and well decorated. Breakfast was nice and Clare was absolutely lovely and went above and beyond. The value for money was great as well between two of us!

Thought check out was a tad early on paper, (we weren’t prompted to go at specific time as getting ready for a family occasion) Is next door to a pub, if you’re a light sleeper at kicking out time keep window closed.

This B&B was brilliant the beds were very comfortable and the location was great. We were doing a charity walk along the Teesdale way and Claire was out host she went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible she even went to the trouble of getting up early to have a gorgeous full English breakfast and a bowl of porridge waiting for us before our days walking. Thank you so much for looking after us we really did appreciate everything you did for us.

Received a warm friendly welcome from Clare. Our room, number 5 has low beams which we were advised about as soon as we made the booking. The room was spacious and very clean. The breakfast was fantastic with plenty of choice.

Lovely house in a charming village. A perfect stop-over location for our trip from South Yorkshire to Scotland. The house has been beautifully decorated - our room had an oriental theme. The sitting room and dining room downstairs were full of character in keeping with the house. The owner Clare has put a lot of love into this property. Clare was very welcoming, and cooked us a delicious breakfast. She was also very helpful in arranging for us to collect a jacket which we had left behind, on our return journey a few days later. Clare also recommended that we visit the nearby High Force on our way to Scotland - spectacular, thanks Clare! We had a very good evening meal at the Teesdale pub across the road.
