The owners really put some thought into making this a perfect family get away! From the large dining table for family meals, to the perfect screened porch for unwinding after a day of playing on the lake! Our family really enjoyed our week! The hosts were super helpful and responsive.

House located in a quiet cove. Large boat house and enough room to have both of our fishing boats tied off. Seating arrangements under boat dock was nice. Did not have the couch anymore as pictured in listing but plenty of other type of seating. Kitchen seating is great especially if you have a large group of people.

The house is small but the screened in back porch adds so much living space. The boat dock has a cover so not baking in hot sun w kids all day. area to sun bath to side of deck. Water is what’s it’s all about. U don’t come to the lake for a lavish house, u come for the water and this house doesn’t disappoint. The owners are very responsive and accommodating. They seem to truly care about their renters. Nice quiet street for walking w th kids at the end of the day

The host answered all of our questions before we got there and during our stay. We loved the cove and dock and spent a lot of time on the large screened in porch.
I recommend bring Tupperware as we didn’t have anything like it to store leftovers.
The last night we enjoyed a nice fire in the fire pit.

The house was perfect for our family group. The huge kitchen table was amazing, we made good use of the grill, and the screened-in porch was a big hit with everyone. Loved the layout of the bedroom suites, made it easy to have privacy when you wanted it. Everything was clean, roomy, and comfortable!

Had an amazing week at this wonderful Lyons Creek cottage in Riverbend! We caught 13 different types of fish off the dock and paddle boarding in the creek! An easy trip from the marina to the dock if you rent a boat during the week. We will definitely be back!

The house was perfect for our family. The boat dock was awesome. We had a lift for our boat. Plenty of space to hang out in the sun or in the shade. There is also a mini fridge. The cove was great for swimming and paddle boarding. The screened in porch was great for dinner outside and games.
The host was very responsive. Answered every question in a timely manner. Check in was easy.
Within 20 minutes of a grocery store. The property is located in a nice cove.
Our only concerns were the walk to the boathouse has a large amount of roots covering the paths. You really have to be alert walking to the dock. The exterior was freshly painted and looked beautiful however the steps were slippery when wet. Neither are a huge deal, just be cautious.
We definitely will rent this house again. It was wonderful!

I have stayed at this property twice now. It does not disappoint. The house was clean, beds comfortable. Nice screened in porch. The dock is huge, lots of shade and sun. swimming and fishing was great. I highly recommend. And will be back again.

We stayed for another wonderful week at this house in LKG. As always, the house was clean and ready, the screened in porch is welcoming and has some really cool rockers as well as a full table to dine outside. The dock, as always, has plenty of room for all of us.

We will miss the screened porch and the dock area! The house is casual and functional. Big kitchen table, comfortable beds. House has a bit of a musty funk — we used some air freshener and kept the windows open. The canoes were awesome for exploring the lake and for fishing!

We are repeat renters of this property. The house, porch and dock never disappoint! Weather didn’t cooperate but we made entertainment by playing board games, working on puzzles and just enjoying each others company. Home is always clean, owners are always kind and communicate quickly!

We are a a retired couple and we stayed in this house with good friends with whom we have traveled extensively. The house worked wonderfully well for us. Each side of the main living space has two bedrooms and a bath so each couple had their own side of the house, offering maximum privacy. Another significant advantage is the gentle slope down to the water. Many lake front homes have steep steps to waterfront but this was a short easy walk. We enjoyed the large screened porch which faces the lake and ate many meals there. The owner was easy to work with and answered all inquires immediately.

We’ve come here for the last 5 years and will continue , if the house is available. Beautiful weather, swimming everyday, on the water in the canoe we went for miles. Cookouts on the grill. We brought everything we needed and never had to leave all week. Sad to say that time goes by too fast! We could live there year round. See you next season.

Our family had a wonderful vacation over Labor Day weekend and into the next week. The home is on a quiet and beautiful stretch of Lake Gaston and within a short boat ride of 2 great restaurants. The kitchen table was beautiful and huge and easily held 10 people for meals. The boat house/dock we’re amazing and was everyone’s favorite place to hang out. Lots of shade all over the property and on the dock. The house is lovely and set up perfectly for up to 10 people. Thank you for a wonderful week!

Pros: The cottage was a great layout for traveling with family. Two bedrooms with a shared bath on opposite sides of the house with pocket doors in the halls leading to a large common area with plenty of space. The bunk room worked for the kids. The cove was quiet and deep enough for swimming and boating. We enjoyed using the canoes to explore and fish. The dock is plenty roomy for everyone. We spent a lot of time on the enormous screened in porch and used the large firepit several times for a bonfire and s'mores. Not too far of a boat ride from restaurants and the marina, but plan to drive 20 minutes for groceries, coffee, etc. Quiet neighborhood with nice walking trail along the road just past the house.
Cons: If anyone in your party has mobility issues, there are quite a few large rocks and roots throughout the driveway and path to the lake that make it tough to travel safely. There is no walk-in access to the lake as suggested in listing. Also, the listing says there are 3 queen beds. They are doubles and the rooms are very musty. My son woke up with allergy issues. The pictures show a full-sized fridge at the dock and comfy couch which aren't there. A minifridge by the water was all we needed though. The kitchen is very lightly stocked for a location as remote as Gaston, where you can plan to cook most meals. Could use a pancake griddle, updated blender, crockpot and more cooking utensils.

Family summer vacation
Perfect simple lake house. Great location on the cove with a very nice dock and swimmable water. The shallow area I wouldn’t consider for anyone to use as it’s very rocky and the mud is clay based. We were able to get on our stand up ski from there but otherwise wouldn’t have used it. Seeing the fish and dragonflies from that location was great and our daughter thoroughly enjoyed it. The living area could use an upgrade on the furniture and the kitchen as well for cookware.

Bathrooms were not cleaned proper found hair in tubs ,moldy shower curtains my wife had to clean
My wife had to clean bathrooms , also stovetop needed cleaning. Boat dock area was not cleaned up it was full of cob webs was not as appealing as shown in pictures. the outdoor landscape was not kept up sticks and tree limbs laying all over walkways outdoor shower was loaded with spider webs, sticks, and tree debris we were looking forward to using that ! Besides that the lake is awesome and the location.

Retirement Vacation
We had an amazing time!! Weather was a little cold but the house was awesome with all the amenities we need to cook. Location was perfect! Restaurant and shopping close by but yet felt very secluded. Fishing from the dock was awesome, caught two large catfish!! Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be going back!!
