We really enjoyed our stay, it was our second time renting the house. We loved the beautiful backyard, the fire pit, the spacious wrap-around porch, and the view of the water. The location is amazing, with great restaurants in walking distance. The host was responsive and very helpful. Thank you!

Great walking location to shops, stores, galleries and restaurants. Lots of space for our three families of a total of nine people.

Excellent location, beautiful backyard facing the moor. Spacious property. A historic house. All great so far.
Unfortunately the property is not well maintained. There was mold in the AC, sticky doors (eg bathroom doors won’t close), moths inside, overall unclean appearance.
I would suggest that the host leaves a private property sign at both entrances as random people kept walking in to the property while we were relaxing.
Also please be aware that you will have to rent the bed sheets, pillow cases and towels from a separate location and return it to that location before leaving.we did not know this when we booked.
The village is very laid back and pretty and not touristy, yet without driving distance of all major attractions.
Our dishwasher was not functioning from day one and was replaced the day before we left. So we had to hand clean dishes for 11 family members.
Overall will say it is overpriced for the conditions.

We stayed at the Moorings in July 2024 with extended family of 16. It was a wonderful stay and the owner was very responsive when we needed to contact her once. We really enjoyed time spent on the wraparound porch and at the water. We kayaked and played croquet. We walked to the town square dance event on the Wellfleet pier. While we had a great time, there are some things worth noting so that future guests can be prepared.
It's a gorgeous, historic house and quaint cottages. This worked for our family, but it's not a brand new luxury hotel. You need to bring or order your own sheets and towels, and you will likely need to bring the essentials like toiletries, toilet paper, paper towels, bug spray, and hairdryer. We were there during a heat wave. Almost every bedroom had an air conditioning unit in the window, but one or two didn't. There is one refrigerator in the kitchen and 2 mini-fridges in the cottages. We made this work for a family of 16 by using coolers with ice for beverages.
None of this was a big deal to us, but just want to note so that guests come prepared. Overall, a fantastic stay!

Awesome location for multigenerational vacation! Quiet backyard with beautiful views and room for lawn games. Cottages are adorable and big house has room for large family dinners. Walkable to shops, food, and boating. How could you not have fun and love this spot!

I can't say enough about The Moorings !! It was a perfect spot for our family of 13 !! We enjoyed every inch of the property !! The main house was spotless and had everything we needed for the week. The cottages out back were perfect for our sons and their families. The children had a huge yard to run around and play. They loved the kayaks and watching all the ducks and birds. April was so accommodating and easy to get in touch with. We hosted our sons Rehearsal Dinner in the backyard. It was truly magical. The lights in the trees were beautiful and there's even a fire pit next to the water. Everyone was in awe of the property .
Town is an easy walk and has wonderful restaurants and shops.
We highly recommend staying at the Moorings . We will be back !!Thank you April

Our second stay at this beautiful property did not disappoint. Our large group enjoyed dinners and social time around the fire, on the porches,
and picnic tables. Location provides a perfect hub for beach, boating and golf outings, paddling from the property, and short walks to galleries, restaurants, and hikes. We’ll be back!

This is our second year staying here -- we had such a great time last year we all decided to come back! The main house, cottages, and large yard (with beautiful water view) make this the perfect place for a multigenerational vacation. The proximity to beach, shopping, restaurants, and sporting activities cannot be beat. We are already talking about staying again next summer!

This property was ideal for all ages. There was outside dining that accommodated all our large group (18-20) and two long tables inside for eating.
We kayaked from the yard, walked along fiddler crab city during low tide, and groups walked to town or the pier. No need to drive a lot.
It’s so nice to all be together in one spot but also have 3 different cabins and the main house to fit everyone’s needs.
The kitchen was outfitted well and many fans were there to keep us cool. It was comfortable but not fussy…good if you have children.
The owner was very responsive to my concerns and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a “family compound “ for holiday.

We had the loveliest wedding at The Moorings! The historical house and little cottages accommodated a large family and allowed cousins and extended family to reconnect in a beautiful setting. The view is stunning. Mayo Beach, art galleries, Wellfleet Center and a number of excellent restaurants are all within easy walking distance. It was a special experience and there is no more magical spot in Wellfleet than The Moorings!

The Moorings is a spacious, private, and beautiful property to gather at with friends and family. Sitting in the backyard at the water feels secluded and peaceful, but the location couldn’t be more central or convenient to all Wellfleet has to offer - restaurants, shopping, galleries, and beaches. The house and property are full of history and rustic New England charm. Really unique and wonderful place to stay. April was super communicative and helpful. Everyone in our family is already talking about wanting to go back next summer!

Beautiful seaside victorian home provided the perfect location for friends to gather, reconnect, and enjoy everything that Wellfleet has to offer. The Moorings is large, comfortable, well stocked, and in the heart of the village for dinning, music, shopping, kayaking and just relaxing by the water. Can’t wait to return next year!

We had a large group of varying ages: from 80 years old to 9 months old. The house and cottages were perfect to gather for family time while also allowing plenty of space for some alone time. We used the kitchen for many of the meals and found pots and pans as needed. The picnic tables out by the cove were perfect to share meals on very hot days. The fire pit was wonderful at night with plenty of chairs. For several days the temps were above average with high humidity. Fans were available as well as 1 window AC. If a new, posh rental with central air is top of your requirements for your vacay, expect to lose out on what the Moorings has to offer, better location, prices and opportunity to enjoy Wellfleet without being in the car constantly. The Moorings is a Historical Landmark home, rich in details like the front porch which we enjoyed in the day and night to relax after beach time. A ripped door screen was replaced within hours by the friendly maintenance man. The owner is very responsive to any questions or needs. Having a washer and dryer available meant less packing and with babies it was great. The value of a vacation at The Moorings to me was doubled by the location: close to the pier with tennis and basketball courts, restaurants and a playground while being walkable to town also. We loved it!

Wonderful property!
Ideal location, lots of space for sleeping, swimming, paddle boarding, campfires, and just rocking on the front porch. Owner was very accessible and made sure, in advance. we knew what we needed to bring. You won’t be disappointed, it was great!

Beautiful Wellfleet Compound
Perfect location for a multigenerational group looking to stay on the Cape. The main house and cottages are so charming. The views of the water from the small cottages cannot be beat, very peaceful! The big yard and cozy porch offer places for game playing, quiet conversations, and relaxing with nature. The ability to walk to restaurants, shops, and harbor beach was fantastic. Who says you can't please everyone!

Family Reunion
Super convenient downtown location. Great for multiple families to spread out and have their own space. The yard is perfect for outdoor activities and accessible to the water (tidal). The main house is a step back in time and the cottages are updated and comfortable. Property owner/manager was very responsive and helpful.

Wonderful stay!
Gorgeous views of the tidal river! Kids enjoyed looking for crabs when the tide was out. We had multiple families and the "compound" worked very well giving each family space. April was great! She immediately answered our questions and if an issue came up she had it addressed shortly after. Would highly recommend this property!

The Moorings is FANTASTIC
It is wonderful every time we go! Kayaking from the backyard, walking to town and the pier, swimming in the pond and at the bay. A perfect location and all was lovely.

Perfect location for family reunion
This was the perfect place to say with extended family during a pandemic during a last minute mini family reunion. Each family unit was able to have their own place which allowed for social distancing. We enjoyed the location, outdoor dinners with beautiful sunsets, long walks in the salt Marsh and Great Island and trips to both bay and ocean side beaches. April was very responsible and accommodating. Thanks for a great vacation and an opportunity for my family to safely get together during COVID.

This spot was really great. It couldn't have worked out better for us. Thank you to the property owner. She was easy to work with and very easy to communicate with. The main house is an old house that has been renovated with a mix of modern and older amenities. It was great and we stayed in first floor master bedroom in the main house. It had its own master bath which was very nice and a great shower. Upstairs had 3 more bedrooms and another full bathroom. We had planned for the kids to stay upstairs,. It once you get to this property, you'll find out why they didn't. The kitchen in the house is great and there are plenty of spots to hang out, like the sun room, large dining room and a living room. We never turned the TV on but it's there and looked nice. My wife did use the washer and dryer plenty in the basement. We had our two kids and they brought 3 friends (3 15yo boys and 2 12yo girls). On the property just steps from the main house, are the outbuildings or cottages. It was perfect for the kids. They are basically right on the bay, and there's a great firepit in between them, that was the evening meeting place/hangout. The cottages have 2 and 3 smaller bedrooms, a central living area with couches and kitchenettes. Each has it's own full bathroom and nice showers. The kids loved having their "own" spaces. They had snacks in their kitchens and waters loaded in their fridges. They could stay up late and not bother the adults. It couldn't have worked out any better. They even used the last building if someone wanted to go to bed earlier than the rest of the group. It also had its own shower, 2 bedrooms and two bathrooms. There are picnic tables to hangout outside, the deck of the larger cottage is nice and has some deck wicker furniture (cushions in the shed) to sit out at. The bay is literally right there, and when the tide is in, you can go in the water or use the kayaks, etc. When the tide is out, you cans see tons of little crabs, etc but there's no water at low tide. You can walk to all the downtown restaurants of wellfleet. We opted to drive to the ocean beaches bc it's about a 3mile walk or bike ride but only a 5min car ride. Got a beach sticker for the week from town of wellfleet online. This property worked out better than we could have expected. It was great for our group and we could have easily added more adults or kids. Thank you very much for welcoming us to your place and making it so easy. Hope to come back again soon.

Family quarantine get away
Property location is beautiful and peaceful. Great for time on the water with access to groceries and take out made it easy to distance safely and comfortably. House is an old house maintained for rentals so is not pristine but is very comfortable. There is only AC in one room but there are abundant fans. 3 outdoor picnic tables & big wrap around porch let us spend most of our time outdoors which was what we were looking for. Great stay.

In 2014 family and friends, 21 in number, gathered to celebrate my three score years and ten; five years later a smaller but no less enthusiastic number, gathered at The Moorings for a somewhat less significant milestone.Wanting to make sure that our days would be available, I booked well ahead! As before, we had a fabulous time: whale watching from Provincetown, and a subsequent visit to the rest of the town; a day on Nantucket, enticed by the bright coloured clothing at Murray's Toggery, delicious lunch at The Whale ( in the courtyard) and , of course the museums; the Great Island walk (we got right to the end!) and a morning at First Encounter beach followed bya picnic at Fort Hill; swimming at the Long Pond and dinner locally at The Pearl, Mac's Shack and the Bookstore; tempting galleries in Wellfleet and spectacular views from the house across Duck Creek. We admired the updating of the harbour wall, to include benches and a small stage and the local theatre was in full swing. Cape Cod has always been special to the family, and the experience at April's lovely Moorings adds yet more memories to our collection. We did water the flower baskets and left them alive!Thank you, April, Maybe 2024?

Fantastic property for a large group
Stayed at this property for my daughter's wedding over Columbus Day weekend. Fantastic compound property for a large group. The owner April was SO responsive during the entire process. You can walk to so much, restaurants and beaches. You do need to order your own sheets and towels so remember that. Fantastic and I hope to book again this property!!!

THE quintessential Cape Cod beach experience
This was the perfect setting for a gathering of college women friends celebrating their 75th birthday. The big house had a comfortably large sitting room with couches and chairs enough for all to sit around for cocktails and conversation, and the dining room accommodated 12 around the long table. The kitchen was large and arranged so that all who wanted to cook could share the tasks (often 6 busy women), and it was very well equipped - even 2 powerful blenders! The cottages were also comfortable and well equipped. And of course the setting is spectacular - plenty of outdoor chairs to sit around the fire pit and enjoy the evening scene seen in the photo. And an easy 5 minute walk to the village and shops, grocery store and restaurants and to the harbor. Everyone loved it.

House was exactly as described.
Centrally located in Wellfleet, easy walking distance to local beach, town pier, shopping, etc. Only one window air conditioner in the house, but every bedroom had a fan so there was plenty of airflow and being close to the water, it cooled off nicely.
The kitchen was EXTREMELY well stocked for a rental house. Plenty of dishes, pots, pans, serving utensils, etc. The owner was very responsive to all requests/questions, and in general, a great place to stay!

Wonderful time at the Moorings
The setting for the Moorings is so special!!! We recently stayed there with family and friends for the week following my daughters wedding. It was perfect!!! We had a full house of 21 and it never felt crowded. We would sometimes all gather out back by the water which is just beautiful and at other times we would all just gather on the front porch.
The location of the property is also wonderful as you can walk to restaurants, shopping and the beach. This is a very special property!! A bit of step back in time with the little cottages out back that are absolutely adorable!! Just loved everything about it!!!!

Another amazing stay at the Moorings!
We just completed our 3rd year staying here.
What can I say, it's an amazing place! There are great little places where you can be alone and relax even if the house is full to capacity while also having many areas where everyone can be together.
It's walking distance to so many fun activities that you really don't need a car once you've arrived.
I really can't say enough good things about the location, the house (and cabins) or April (the owner).
I'm already looking forward to next year!

Cape Cod Getaway
Overall great trip. This property is perfect for large groups, there was a bed for everyone in my group of 19 girls and the separate houses were perfect for allowing people to sleep in or stay up late without disrupting the whole group. Bon fire pit by the water in the back is magical and April was super helpful and accommodating!

Fantastic location and setup for a gathering of friends!
We stayed here for a gathering of friends from around the world. It was perfect -- plenty of space, an outstanding location (easy walk to many restaurants as well as the harbor), and all the facilities we needed. We had a great time and would highly recommend it to others wanting to get a large group together.

Beautiful Venue for the whole Family
We had our wedding here and had plenty of room for both mine and my husband's family. It is within walking distance to all of the best restaurants and galleries. Everyone loved it.
The main house is beautiful and the cottages are just as nice. Be aware - you must also rent your linens from a separate company. This will add cost but it's well worth it. The house had everything we needed and April was a dream to work with.

Perfect in every way. Can't wait to go back again!
This wonderful historic home and three cottages are known as "The Moorings" or heaven as I call it.
We were lucky enough to stay here with family and friends attending our daughter's (our only) wedding in Wellfleet.
I can't say enough about how perfect it was. The property, accommodations (including comfort of the beds) and the "setting" exceeded our expectations beyond belief. I can't recommend it enough.
The property is beautiful, peaceful, well stocked, decorated in a colorful "Cape" style, and April (owner) was terrific to work with. It felt like home.
We hosted barbecues and get-togethers throughout the week - many while sitting in front of a fire at the water's edge. We utilized the beauty of the venue as a back-drop for precious photographs. The large dining room provided a great gathering spot to assemble wedding favors and enjoy morning coffee. The sunroom was magic. I've already had requests from other's to have a regular reunion there. We all miss it!
Thank you April for sharing this picturesque home with us. Wonderful memories abound from guests young and old.
Sincerely,
Lynne

The property was perfect for what we needed.
We needed a place where the wedding party and friends/cousins of the bride and groom could stay during the run-up to a wedding and where they could hang out afterwards. The property was perfect for that. The spot is beautiful. The combination of the main house and the out-buildings offered both plenty of privacy and places to convene. And, as a starting point for the bridal party's walk to Preservation Hall for the wedding itself, the Moorings could not have been better. I should also note that the owner was lovely and responsive as we planned for our stay.
