Gorgeous beach, commodious beach house, friendly, interesting owners who were extremely accommodating. Hope to return next year.

Stayed with the family and some friends and their kids in Mary's Beach House for five nights. Ray and Mary were great with the check in, said we could come a little earlier as the cabin was available, even replaced a gas grill that was broken the next day. We got there late Sunday afternoon and immediately hit the beach, which is really the most outstanding feature of the property. We could see the kids playing in the water from the deck and the path is short, maybe 30 feet or so before you hit the sand. Pretty much spent all week on that amazing beach. Sand everywhere, even with the kids rinsing off their feet with the hose next to the house. Hard to keep the sand out, but we tried. There's washer and dryer in the cabin, so we did a lot of laundry. Had to buy beach towels, as there were none. The cabin itself has lots of bedrooms, with a lofted room that has a 360-degree view that is pretty amazing along with a little deck area. Though this space could be a great master suite, it was set up more for kids. Overall, the cabin is feeling it's age and there are a few areas that are perpetually damp and dank, which is just how it is when you have a place right on the beach. Makes it smell like wet cedar, just like my grandparent's cabin. There are lot of dusty cabin-y knick-knacks around (not like the "beach swag" you get from Amazon) and plenty of post-its that let you know what you can and can't do in the house--just like grandma and grandpas.

Location is amazing. Wonderful hostesses they have a lot of pride for their beach house in the woods. I’m sure they have enjoyed many memories there.

We checked with the owner and was told we could check in at 12:00, but when we arrived the house was still being cleaned - the owner didn't tell the cleaning person. we waited on the deck and beach while the cleaning was finished. The house had lots of bedrooms and the spaces were large. It was great that we could walk out the back door and be at the beach. There was a grill with a propane tank, but when attempting to use found the ignitor did not work and the grease trap was broken into 3 pieces. there was also a charcoal grill which we sued in stead. I messaged the owner and he was prompt and addressing the issues - brought towels and look at grill and said not to use. As the week progressed we discovered the ice maker was not producing ice and the upstairs toilet was problematic with continual running. I would rent again, but when I called with my dates for next year the house had been rented, but have blocked in dates for 2025. this is a great place for families with young childrent to gather and enjoy the beach.

The house is lovely and was enough room for my family of ten to spread out when we needed, but come together when we wanted to. The beach is perfect-quiet and hardly saw anyone else. The water was lovely (a bit chilly in June). Watch out for mosquitoes-would advise bringing lots of spray in mid-June.

The location of this property can't be beat. Right on a beautiful beach - sunrise/sunset are wonderful. We went over Memorial Day and was amazing, the height of summer would be even better. Bedrooms are close quarters but as a group of 12, we were fine, everyone had a bed and it was a blast. Hosts were great.

This was our second time staying at this great beach house. The place is huge, with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The upper floor bedroom is like sleeping in a giant treehouse! There is a nice wide beach and you can walk a long way in either direction. The decor is very "Door County" and the hosts are really responsive. We'll be back!

The Lake is our happy place, no matter the season. This is a well-cared-for home. So much is here to make it a home from the stocked kitchen to the cozy bedrooms to the full washer/dryer to the extra soaps in the bathrooms. We loved watching the sunrise and sunset from the indoor patio, the huge windows in the main living room, and the panoramic views from the 2nd floor. We got some wonderful family time with our family of 4 and my parents (grandparent time!) Could’ve even had a friend or two join us! Two great tables to play card/board games and build puzzles. WiFi is also good here and there are card/board games and movies to choose. Mary is very responsive and a great host. We’re seeing about heading back to this home soon! Thank you for this time together in a wonderful place.

This was our second stay and it was just a great as the first. The house is comfortable and cozy, especially on a winter evening with the fire crackling and the waves crashing, and I don't think I would ever tire of the view! We spent a lot of time walking on the beach, picking up shells and pebbles and following deer tracks, and were even greeted on day one with a bald eagle fly-over. All in all, I would totally recommend a stay at Mary's Beach House!

Excellent week in Door County, with family and kids!

The house, hosts and beach were great! A rustic feel to the house, which was appreciated. The view is spectacular, especially when the southwest winds brought huge waves ashore. Close to everything!

The house is wonderful and the beach is amazing! We walked more than 4 miles of the beach. One of our best family vacations ever!

Our family has truly enjoyed our stays at "Mary"s Beach House" wr hope to plan to revisit again in the future.

Wow! We couldn't have had better weather during our stay....a LOT of beach days on a beautiful shoreline made it perfect. The home is spacious, fully furnished, 'lived-in' so you can relax with kids and dogs around, and of course situated right on the beach. The furnishings come with stories/history and the architecture is interesting; both add to the character of this place. Soak up the sun for a while, then take a meal break just steps away, then head out again for some more. The owners were friendly and helped us with recommendations for local restaurants. Great place for a gathering of an extended family.

We had lots of room for our group. Never did we feel crowded. We had teens & 2 dogs. It was so special to be able to bring our dogs which posed no problem at all. It was extra fun to watch & play with them. We had 4 glorious days of sunshine & play in the water & on the beach with the floatables, frisbee, our dogs, shovels for digging. It was beach day from morning to dinner time. It would have been extra difficult to leave if it hadn't been raining the day we needed to leave. One morning three of our group even drove to the Green Bay side to get some fishing in. We had plenty of privacy. A lovely family gathering by all of us!

We had a wonderful time. The size of house was great, the view gorgeous, the owners lovely and they did a great job having everything that you could need on hand for a family vacation. We had our adult children, two son in law’s and a 15 year old grandchild, 8 total. Bikes were used. Only negative comment is that the beach house is very dated for the price. Overall we had a wonderful time and great memories. Thank you Mary

House on the beach...perfect location. Although the beach was smelly due to dead fish all over the sand. Needed to rake the dead fish everyday and buried them. The house was big and accommodated the whole family of 16. Although the first floor was outdated and knickknacks were allover the place just collecting dusts. The house needed a real cleaning. Thanks.

It was spacious and private with terrific access to the beach . The deck was perfect as was the interior with all the windows . Note:The bedroom signage about making the beds (daily or for the next occupants? ) was confusing and different from the laminated instructions. There was no laundry basket available as noted. There was a lot of discussion about this.

Amazing location on the sandy beach with great views.

Perfect home for 2 families. The views were gorgeous even in the winter. Plenty of space for all of us. Can’t wait to go back in summer if available.

We all loved our stay at Mary's Beach House. We had 3 families with everyone from the 1 year old to the grandparents to the dog and everyone was happy and comfortable and wants to return next year. Relaxed beach house vibes with a lovely view, fireplace, and easy walk down to the beach from the porch.

The house has amazing views of the lake, and is well designed to take advantage of them. In general the house is comfortable, well situated, and we had a nice stay. The owners seem to be good people who are trying to provide a nice place to stay. There was a problem with the heating when we first arrived, but the owners were responsive and had the problem fixed quite quickly. On the downside, the check-in process was very frustrating as we had to make up the beds ourselves, and the wrong sheets had been set in the rooms (queen sheets for king sized beds) so that we had to do a lot of hunting for sheets that fit when we were very tired from the journey. There also wasn’t any hand soap in the bathrooms, so we had to run to the supermarket right away to get some. The check-out process was similarly frustrating, because there was an entire page of instructions about stripping beds, washing dishes (the dishwasher to be washed and cleared, and the dishwasher takes 2 1/2 hours to run, so we had to do the breakfast dishes by hand), cleaning out the fireplace, setting the thermostat, switching off the water. Considering what we paid for a week’s rental, I really do think the owners could afford a reasonable cleaning service to handle the beds and things. Houses I’ve rented before in Door county had the beds made and didn’t expect me to scrub the place down when I was leaving.

This VRBO is a lovely and spacious lake home. Quiet neighborhood, with Lake Michigan as its backyard.

This was our second year and was once again great. The house was perfect for our needs. The location was beautiful and we spent many hours on the deck enjoying Lake Michigan. This is a perfect place for a large group which also allows pets. My dogs loved the beach which is very close to the house. Hope to come here next year.

Our family, a couple and four grown children, gathered and truly enjoyed our stay at this property. The owners were very pleasant and easily accessible. The property was very family oriented; a lot of movies, games, and books for families. The property was right on the beach, and we did a lot of walking on the beach. The views from the home are truly beautiful. and we had the pleasure of watching a deer right outside one of the home's windows and having a bald eagle fly right over us. The stars are amazing at night and the sunrises are breathtaking. We truly enjoyed our time at this property and hope to stay here again.

The views of Lake Michigan from the house, deck and beach can't be beat. The location worked well for our three nights with dear friends. Mary was extremely responsive to my questions prior to our stay. Overall, the house, which I'm sure is a well-loved family retreat, is tired with some deferred maintenance. I am glad I asked about bringing our own folding chairs, as we found only three functional chairs. For a house that could sleep 16 and that has a huge deck, this would be a disappointment for those without chairs. The towels provided are worn and mismatched. One bedroom is in the center of the main floor and does not have a window. The upstairs bedroom/bathroom is far better than the main floor sleeping quarters, so perhaps draw straws for it. There are plenty of dishes, pots/pans. Firewood was provided. Our friends were able to bring their dog, which was really nice; poop bags provided. I've stayed in 50+ vacation rentals, this, sad to say, was not one of the best.

Entire family raved over the entire experience. Immediately sought a repeat visit next year. That says it all!

As some have commented, you rent thus home for the beach. The kids and adults had the best time relaxing and playing in the sand and waves. Again as some have stated, the house may not have everything you need for a longer stay. We did need to buy kitchen linens, a dish drying rack (the one we found was in poor condition), a couple of pans to cook with, paper plates, and plasticware (as some had mentioned the dishwasher is for sanitizing, so dishes have to be washed by hand). Many have mentioned the cleanliness. We would agree that the house isn't super clean, however we felt that it's a beach house that served the beach house function. The owner dropped off some Draino for one of the bathrooms and left a new coffeemaker, both were greatly appreciated!

Everything was excellent. Hope to rent again next Year.

This property has a gorgeous view of Lake Michigan, and ample space to spread out in. The location is nice & secluded from crowds/hustle and bustle. There is much to look at and explore inside the house as well as out. However, upon arrival, it was quickly evident that the photos used online were taken several years ago. The upper exterior balcony seating is not usable nor is the picnic table. The house itself was fine-clean and livable-but in my opinion, did not match online photos. I feel the nightly rate we paid was astronomical, given the fact that the house could use some updating and exterior clean up.
