The house was right across from the state park. The house was clean. The kitchen was decently stocked with kitchen utensils, etc. The bed in what I will call the master bedroom seemed to fold into the middle when there was two people in it. It was also very noisy when you would move in the middle of the night. There were two beds in the 2nd bedroom that were almost like sleeping on a piece of plywood. I was also disappointed that I had to take out the garbage on Wednesday night. For what I paid to stay here, I should’ve have to do chores that I do at home. The cleaning crew should have done this. Check in process was simple. At times it felt like communications from property management company was too much. I think I got an email or text almost every day I was there. That wasn’t needed. Just let me enjoy my trip.

The cottage was in an exceptional location. It was just as described. The front porch is all you need to relax. It was extremely hot during our stay, but the Happe House Apt B was nice and cool. If you rent Apt B, know you will hear the people above you walking around. If you are a light sleeper or that type of noise bothers you, rent the Apt A. The fire alarm woke us up two mornings, going off for no apparent reason. This was not the fault of the owners and I am sure the rental
Company will take care of it. Parking is clearly marked. If you are tall (6’3” or taller) you will have to duck in several spots as the ceiling work is low. Overall it was an amazing place to stay and we enjoyed sharing this clean, comfortable, and beautiful place.

Private deck was the highlight. Proximity to the beach and view can’t be beat. Bathroom is a little tight and the ceilings are a little low in unit B but still a solid value all things considered. Would definitely stay again.

My family had a great time staying at this cabin. The location cannot be beat. It’s right by a beautiful beach and my wife loves places with a great view and this one has a great view, we were lucky to view a couple of sunsets off the deck. The beds were a little on the smaller side which can be hard for taller people like me, but it was good enough. Overall, it was great and my family had a great time.

My wife and 4 kids thoroughly enjoyed the place. It is so nice to be near the beach. You can actually watch your kids walk all the way to the water. The breeze keeps the bugs away. We are going to come back.

This cottage is beautifully situated across from the Grand Haven State Park beach. The unit is spacious and has a beautiful deck. We enjoyed the ample seating inside and outside. House is only about a 20 minute walk to downton. Renters should be prepared to hear plenty of noise from the people in the apartment above. Also, kitchen is stocked with some basics for dining, but could really use a knife block with a small selection of knives. Lots of dull paring knives, but nothing to cut bread or meat.

Perfect location just across the street from the beach and a short drive to necessities. Loved the view from the back deck. The home is bright and clean and suited the three of us perfectly. The only small drawback was being able to hear the renters above walking around at times. But we would definitely stay there again.

Happe House B was clean, perfect layout and a wonderful location. We enjoyed the house and patio with amazing views. Just perfect!

Great but could use some updates
Over all the accommodations were very nice. It was very clean, the beds were very comfortable, the location fabulous and the check in/check out was clear and seamless. I was a little sad to see the table and chairs in the dining room were on the verge of falling apart, we were afraid to use them. The couch had sections with deep drop offs to the bottom. I would suggest replacing these items. It would make this a perfect VRBO rental. Thank you.

Lovely week at the lake.
It was a lovely place. The only drawback was that there were 5 of us, and only 4 forks. . . And only 2 wine glasses. But we soldiered on.

Felt at Home at the Beach
Fantastic view!
Across the the street from the beach!
I felt like the beach was my home for a couple of days! The deck and living area has a fantastic view or the “Big Lake”! The roar of the water and sounds of the lake also made this trip memorable. The rooms and bathroom were kinda small, but we were too busy enjoying being out and about. Clean accommodations, easy check in, closeness to the beach equals a very nice getaway!

Cute Basement Apartment
The space was nice, and very snug. The listing says it sleeps six or so, which is true, however if it were a rainy day and you were stuck inside, it would feel crowded to me. Also there were no personal bits throughout the apartment, no board games, books, or movies. Most places we have stayed have had a guest logbook where families can share their experiences and read past accounts. The tap water was also not good, bring a jug of water to make coffee or tea or food.
The view was amazing, we got to sit right on the patio with blankets (late October) to watch the sunset, and the neighborhood was really nice to walk through. The location is good, close to downtown area, but far enough to escape any crowds.

So great being so close to the lake! There were just a few issues: mold on the ceiling in one bedroom, broken blinds in another bedroom, several bulbs out in the bathroom, and the trash can for our unit was full when we got there, so maybe more cans are needed for holiday weekends. It also disnt seem that the cleaning company cleaned very well, so I don't know why we have to pay so much for cleaning. I know you will take care of all these things.

Only 3 if the burners on the grill worked. You can see in the bedrooms if the new building in front.

Great view and location.
Recommend installing a garbage disposal. Also, reverse the door on the refrigerator!
The only negative was noise from the upstairs apartment.
Also, an awning would be great to block the intense Western Sun.

Not worth what we paid
The view was good and it is close to downtown. After what I paid per night and fees- no way. Both air handlers and water heaters are in the middle of the living space. The ac or heater would go on and off all night with a very loud fan. The Venetian blinds in the bedroom were broken. I had to put a towel over it to keep people from looking in. I moved a bed to plug in a cord and there was hair and lint every where under the bed.

Overall the experience was great - the only thing I could suggest is to perhaps some basics in the kitchen. The rental fee isn't necessarily cheap and while I understand you're paying for location, view, etc; it wouldn't hurt to throw in some more of the basics. Salt, pepper, more toliet paper, paper towels, things of that nature.

Location is wonderful. Beach is a less than 5 minute stroll down the road. Unobstructed lake view and a large deck to sit and watch the sunset. Amenities were good. Some things need a bit of work in the house... the showerhead needs replacement or a good scrub with limeaway. House was very cold even with the air turned off. Not sure the bed in the 1st bedroom is a queen. It looked like a full bed set against a queen headboard...not too big of a deal, hubby and I were just a bit closer than usual:). All in all though, house was very clean and comfortable. Furniture and beds, linens were in great condition. We did not cook while there, but everything was there to do so if we decided to. We will definitely be returning!

Best views/location
We loved the large deck that overlooks the lake. We had every meal outside and spent hours there. It was great being so close to the water, and only a short walk into town. The rental had all the basics, the only reasons we gave four stars are the shower is incredibly tight, and the beds weren't comfortable.

Beautiful home with lots of potential, excellent location with views of Lake Michigan. Wished the house was a little more clean though. Coffee maker was disgusting and unusable... it should be thrown out. Sheets did not fit on beds at all. They only covered the corners, so every time you slept they would come up, exposing the bare mattress. Floors could have used a very good sweeping and mopping. Other than these three issues, our stay was amazing!

Great way to get away
Great location! Clean property with comfortable living room furniture. Bedroom mattresses could use replacing. Can hear the neighbors upstairs and the furnace is loud, but that drowns our the upstairs noise. Will definitely consider returning!

I did already answer a questionnaire, but I will repeat that our stay was wonderful. We had a great vies of the lake and beach. The downtown was a bout a 20 minute walk, which we did mmutiple times each day. Some people gain wight on vaca. Not us! We walked ceaselessly all day long and enjoyed every step,. Grand Haven IS our little bit of heaven...;)

HAPPY STAY AT HAPPE HOUSE B
We could not believer how spotless and what great shape the place was. We did not cook, because we ate out each night. The bed was so comfortable that I tried to look under the mattress for the name of it. The only problem was the a.c. was a bit too cold for us. Great view. Close to everything. I walked so much my shorts were too big when I got home. I , we , love grand Haven!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the landscaping, and the scones at the Baker's Wife, and........ !Scott and Ann Million

Great location. Directly across the street from the state park. View is amazing from the large deck. And the house was clean and decorated nicely. The only negative thing was the bed in the one room was very small and very uncomfortable. Mattress needs to be replaced. But I would definitely rent this place again.
