Contemporary house, private pool on edge of Petworth, South Downs National Park
La Pool House è una casa moderna recentemente ristrutturata, luminosa, situata in posizione tranquilla ai margini di Petworth e in un'area di straordinaria bellezza naturale. Si trova a pochi passi dal centro della città storica, con i suoi negozi di alimentari, gastronomie, molti negozi di antiquariato, rivenditori indipendenti, gastro pub e caffè. È anche a breve distanza a piedi dalla storica Petworth House and Park.
La proprietà beneficia del solo uso di una grande piscina riscaldata durante i mesi estivi (funziona solo da fine maggio a inizio settembre).
All'interno, la casa comprende un ampio soggiorno open space con zona pranzo e cucina moderna ben attrezzata con piani di lavoro in granito. C'è una camera da letto al piano inferiore con letto king-size e bagno privato (e accesso diretto giù per le scale per la piscina e il giardino - solo nei mesi estivi). Al piano superiore ci sono altre due camere da letto con bagno privato, un letto matrimoniale e l'altro una doppia. Al piano superiore c'è anche una seconda area salotto con un piccolo divano letto matrimoniale. (C'è un costo aggiuntivo di £ 50 da pagare all'arrivo per il trucco e la fornitura di biancheria da letto extra divano letto richiesto)
La casa è arredata con mobili e accessori contemporanei, con pavimenti in rovere chiaro in tutto. I letti sono tutti molto confortevoli e la biancheria di qualità dell'hotel ha un numero di fili molto elevato ed è stirata a mano!
Vi è ampio spazio per parcheggiare fino a tre auto all'esterno (auto aggiuntive previo accordo) e solo per i mesi estivi, una grande piscina ben tenuta e un giardino con piscina adagiato sul prato con aiuole e rose vaganti. Mobili da giardino moderni e confortevoli, tra cui sei lettini da piscina e un tavolo da pranzo e sei sedie, sono forniti insieme a un barbecue.
ATTENZIONE: durante il periodo estivo di punta (21 giugno - 5 settembre) le prenotazioni vanno solo dal venerdì al venerdì.

We stayed at the Pool House only last week, and had a lovely time. There were 3 reasonably sized double bedrooms all with en-suite which was a real plus. The pool was large and well-used over the week! It felt like you were in the middle of nowhere, yet within a 200 yard walk, you were in the town of Petworth. The coast is within easy reach, our favourite destination being Littlehampton which we really enjoyed.
There were a few gripes (the TV could be larger, you have to walk through the downstairs bedroom to reach the pool, and I thought paying for pool heating on top of the cost of the rental was a bit much) but overall we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the property. Helene and Robert were also very nice and quick to respond to one or two issues that we had, but left us to our own devices the rest of the time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The property was beautifully appointed throughout with everything needed for our stay. The location is ideal, accessible to restaurants and stores as well as Petworth House, but also perfectly peaceful.
Carole was great to deal with both before and during our stay.

A very comfortable house, well presented with a relaxed feel. Great location for the South Downs and walking into Petworth including Petworth House. A well equipped kitchen also the bonus of all 3 bedrooms being en suite. Carole contacted us throughout our stay to make sure all was fine and whether there was anything else we needed.

Lovely property in the ideal location for the town, Petworth Park & house and the surrounding countryside. No need to take a car, just do everythnig from the property. Lovely & clean property nestled in a quiet location so no issue with traffic. Owner very helpful and kept in touch during the stay to make sure all was OK. Highly recommended.

I stayed with my dad, brother and sister the host was welcoming and gracious, very kindly left us some welcome items. The house was well equipped for home cooking, very clean and comfortable.
Location is beautiful we enjoyed amberly museum and Petworth House and park before cooling off back at the pool. We enjoyed a bbq and made some fabulous memories as a start to my dads 80th birthday celebrations

Carole and Robert are great hosts and have done all they can to make the property a high standard and very comfortable. The bed linen, towels and mattress are extremely high quality. To find a property with a pool is just wonderful. The garden is beautiful and such a relaxing stay away from London. Everything is close by with a 5 minute walk and I would love to return and rebook. They also made my dog Lou feel extremely welcome !

Perfect little house in the ideal location for visiting Surrey/Sussex. An easy stroll to the local shops including our favorite place for morning coffee. Just opposite Petworth Park, so ideal for your morning walk. Walk or drive to several nice pubs.

2nd stay
This is our second stay at the Poolhouse. Carole was just as helpful and gracious as before Property is modern and clean throughout. Three bedrooms and three baths which is not the usual in England. Kitchen has everything you will need. Great walking location to Petworth town, Petworth Park and local footpaths. It has all we needed and then some. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did. Already booking for next year.

No hesitation to recommend
Lovely property in perfect setting. Very quiet but only moments from the shops, pubs and restaurants. Top quality bedding and very comfortable beds. Hosts are next door, friendly and readily available for hints and tips.
Didn’t quite make 5 stars overall as one or two things just let it down a little which was a shame. In no way spoiled our stay and easily rectified. Would definitely book again.

Excellent property with 3 (!!!) en-suite bathrooms. Very comfortable beds & good kitchen facilities although the top cupboards are too high ( a small step stool would have been useful). The property is very well positioned to enjoy all the attractions that Petworth & the South Downs have to offer.

An absolutely wonderful stay!
Many thanks to our hosts for offering our family such a warm welcome to their fantastic property. We enjoyed a much-needed break in the lovely, spacious, spotlessly clean and well-equipped poolhouse. Despite Covid-imposed restrictions, we had a very comfortable stay, with no amenities lacking (pristine bed linen incredibly good!) Our friendly hosts were always available to promptly answer any questions yet provided us space and privacy throughout our stay. An ideal location just a stone's throw from the shops and restaurants of Petworth and all that the National Trust's Petworth House has to offer. Thank you, Carole and Robert, for an absolutely wonderful week.

Extended Family Break
We booked the property mainly due to the swimming pool and the fact that it was in a location that we hadn't been to before.
The pool was lovely, despite the miserable weather we managed to swim most days.
The house is right in the centre of Petworth a really excellent position, you can walk to shops and restaurants which are all very good. Petworth house is literally across the road and is well worth a visit.
The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed, we had two adult boys who didn't want to share so one slept on the sofa bed on the landing which was fine but it is a shame that none of the rooms had twin beds rather than just doubles. The only downside we would highlight is that you have to go through the downstairs bedroom to get to the pool and the shower room with that bedroom needs mopping after every use and steams up completely as there is no window, the towel rail is connected to the central heating which isn't on during the summer so if you have miserable weather like we did your towels don't dry and it ends up feeling a bit damp. The rest of the house was perfect.
We would visit again and would recommend, the hosts live next door and were very helpful.

The pool house is a perfect location as a base for the south of England. The owners are very friendly and answer all questions - we found the property really clean and maintained and wanted for nothing during our stay. The house was really well stocked with every appliance and modern utensils. The location was great for Petworth Park which was literally over the road.
