Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall a good experience! You can’t beat the location of Sand Cay. The biggest negative was the cleanliness of our unit. The floors were absolutely filthy and my child’s feet were black within minutes of being there. We all had to keep our shoes on the entire time. I don’t expect them to be perfect, but compared to other units I’ve stayed in previously, this one could use some work.

Very relaxing space, ideal for long beach walks, playing in the calm water and enjoying the pool. Great family location

Very fun property with plenty to do for the family. Enjoyed the pool, tennis, shuffleboard and grilling on the property. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Pool can be loud at times especially with young adults or families nearby but generally clears out by diner. Beach area was beautiful with plenty of chairs and room to spread out. Very quiet on the beach all week and not crowded during the weekend. I would recommend.

The location is great, right on the beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Check in and check out was super easy. Condo was well equipped and clean. Nice king bed in master and a bunk bed with a pull out trundle bed below so you 3 beds total in second bedroom. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to visit Long Boat Key.

We stayed at unit #208 which provided beautiful garden/pool view along with glimpse of the gulf from the balcony. We are a family of four and the unit accommodated our family with room to spare. Apartment was very roomy and clean and provided us with every amenity needed when not on the beach, at the pool or sharing a great meal at one of very many restaurants in the area. Beds were clean and comfortable (kids loved the bunk bed setup), kitchen was well equipped, there is full on cable/TV for when it rains and Wi-Fi allowed kids to connect their gadgets and let parents do their thing. The unit we stayed in truly exceeded our expectations. The private white-sand beach of the gulf with plenty of room to spare was absolutely great – no need to bump elbows with crowds. We loved the pool and kids stayed into the night swimming and playing shuffle board. Without reservations, we can highly recommend Unit #208 at The Sand Cay Resort which we had pleasure of staying in. We will most certainly return to explore the area and some of the nicest beaches in the US. Thanks for having us!

Well the condo itself was nice and the surroundings were very good. The proximity to the beach was great. The beds were terrible. You cannot enjoy a vacation when you don’t have enough sleep. We called to let the desk know that the bed was terrible and asked if we could get a pillow topper. They said they would ask the owner but never got back to us. We thought about leaving early but we really wanted to spend time with family. So my husband and I slept sideways on the bed to make it tolerable. My daughter and her daughter slept in the other room. My daughter only stayed one night because she said the bed was so uncomfortable in the second bedroom. I would not recommend anybody stay in 208. It was disappointing to have such uncomfortable beds. Most important part of a vacation is getting good sleep. We did not. While everything else was really quite good it’s hard to rate high when you’re sleep deprived and wake up all achy .

Very nice property. The furniture could use being replaced. All of the mattresses are a little saggy. We tried using the sofa bed but the springs in the mattress were poking you when you laid down.

We enjoyed our time in unit 208 at Sand Cay while we visited our 89 year old dad who lives on LBK. It was great to be so close to the Gulf. Accommodations were clean. Nice to have a beach umbrella. Kitchen had everything you could want.

We love Sand Cay! We have stayed here many times! This is the first time in January! It was very different not going in the gulf!!!

The property was beautiful, pool area, beach grounds all lovely. Condos units are tight, and ours was not the best. Issues with wifi and TV were not resolved for five days, and we were only there for a week. The office was being renovated, and it was hard to reach office staff. A low- battery beeping fire alarm, a broken closet door and inadequate lighting are also on the complaint list. Bedrooms in particular had such dim lighting you could barely see your clothes in the drawers. Unit needs new beds, and the stained upholstery on dining area chairs should be replaced. We love Longboat and the beaches, biking, etc and were not there to watch TV but still it was not the best stay due to issues with the condo.

The property is on the beach so it was an easy walk from the unit down to the beach or to the pool. This is such a relaxing, easy vacation. We are sure we will be back again.

Great restaurants close by. Grocery shopping close by. Not enough trash bags, toilet paper or paper towels. Only 3 adults, 5 days.

We had a lovely stay at this property. The beach is beautiful and property is as listed. Only needed upgrade is a new bed for the master (as others have mentioned). For the price and location, it was a wonderful stay for our family of five.

Needs update. Serious noise issues above and next door and severe plumbing drip woke us 2 nights in a row. Lady on emergent line should be fired! Heather from the office getting us a new room and being nice about it was the ONLY reason our trip went in a better direction. Thanks Heather!

We had a great stay at Sand Cay. They had everything we needed as far as toys, beach supplies and towels. The unit was clean and orderly. Other unit owners were very welcoming and we enjoyed chatting. Will definitely return!

Sand Cay is a great property! The grounds are lovely and the availability of extras (beach chairs: free. laundry: free) is wonderful. We would come back to this property, if not necessarily the particular unit we stayed in (would rather be closer to the beach and further from the pool) in. Minute!
