Beautiful craftsmanship on inside of log cabin. Comfortable, clean and accommodating with the little extras. Black Mountain is 5-minute drive. My family loved the area and cabin!

We came to Asheville for a family 40th birthday. This cabin was absolutely perfect for our family. We have small children so the outdoor space was perfect for them! It was well stocked. Extremely clean. So many fun games for the kids. John and Rachel are wonderful hosts. We will definitely stay here again in the future!

We loved our visit to North Carolina and our stay in the mountains. The cabin was a perfect location, not too far up the mountain either and we were close to the downtown only a 6 minute drive! The cabin is gorgeous and everything we needed was in there! I recommend driving through the Blue Ridge Mountains which is close to our location. The views and waterfalls were breathtaking !

I could go on and on about this sweet cabin and it’s incredibly kind & communicative hosts! I took four fourteen year old girls to Black Mountain/Montreat for a week, and this cabin was our home base. Not only is it as charming as it looks in the pictures, but it’s absolutely spotless, comfortable and convenient. It’s stocked with books and games, had fantastic air conditioning, a TV in every bedroom and excellent WiFi (very important when traveling with teenagers😂). We didn’t run into any issues while we were there, but the hosts were so responsive to every message. I felt comfortable that they would’ve been on top of any issues had any come up. Long story short - I highly recommend this cabin. We didn’t want to leave!

What a great stay at a special cabin at Black Mountain. The owners were extremely communicative, kind and helpful and the cabin itself is well appointed, squeaky clean, and very comfortable.
The cabin is a five minute drive to the charming town of Black Mountain, and it is also very close to Montreat where we enjoyed some world class hiking.
I was tickled to find some extras, including dishwasher soap, laundry supplies and even a few spices, salt, pepper and olive oil. So many places do not keep anything extra with which to cook a simple meal so it was nice to have a few basics and to be able to run a load of laundry. They thought of everything, including puzzles, games and even various places to sit (in both in the back yard and the front porch). Even though it is close to town and in a neighborhood, the cabin feels private and quiet. We slept so well.
Thanks for a lovely stay and for making it so easy to check in and out. We look forward to coming back.

This cabin is in a great location (very easy travel into Asheville) with excellent amenities and a peaceful and spacious backyard. I would highly recommend this rental for anyone traveling to the Asheville area!

My family and I stayed at Big Oak cabin for a wedding and were extremely impressed! The cabin itself was very clean and had everything we needed. Added touches with the bedding and decor were also a nice touch that made the cabin feel like home. It is also an easy drive to Asheville which made getting to and from wedding festivities a breeze! The hosts were quick to respond with any questions and made checking in/out effortless. Highly recommend this beautiful cabin!

This cabin was perfect for our family’s spring break trip! The hosts were very communicative about the property. It was exactly as pictured and was extremely clean. Black Mountain was fun to explore, and it’s an easy 15 - 20 minute drive into Asheville. We would definitely stay again!

Big Oak Cabin was great. We just spent one night and wish we could have stayed longer. It had everything we needed, and we loved all the wood. It was clean and comfortable!

This was a spontaneous trip I needed to find a place to accommodate my family of 6 quickly. I was having some trouble with the booking initially and John & Rachel were quick to accommodate us! Our stay was perfect cozy beds, hot water, swing set for the kids. Quiet neighborhood.

Loved this cabin. We had a girls weekend and loved it. So close to Black Mountain that had great food and shopping and only 20 minutes to Asheville! Totally wild stay here again. Also, beds super comfy!

This property was exactly as described, and it was so easy for our family to settle in. The yard was large with lots of space for kids to play, and it was set back far enough away from the road that they were safe to run around. We had a small issue with the AC, but the owner was prompt in responding and working to resolve the issue! Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing and beautiful getaway!

We had a family wedding in Black Mountain. We are so happy we found this cabin to stay at. The cabin was so beautiful. Just as described! Town and sites were all nearby. Sitting around the firepit and listening to a concert nearby was a plus! Thank you John!

This house was awesome. Peaceful and quiet (minus the acorns falling sometimes on the tin roof). The house was super clean, spacious, beautiful and well stocked. The hosts were great to talk and work with. Check in and check out process were super simple. 💯 will be booking here again!

Location was mins from Black Mountain area and easy access for day trips to Chimney Rock, Lake Lure and Biltmore! John was excellent with communication, if traveling to the area again we would definitely look to book again!

Our family had such a wonderful time at this adorable cabin. John and Rachel were excellent hosts. We really enjoyed the fire pit and making s’mores. We also had fun playing board games. We visited Biltmore and it was an easy drive there. Highly recommend this place!!

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at this lovely location in Black Mountain. It's very well maintained and comfortable and the the scenery and mountain views nearby are incredible.

We stayed 1 week at the cabin and loved so much about our stay. The fire pit was a nightly highlight. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked for someone who actually cooks (better than most other VRBO's we have used). Cold AC was great for sleeping at night. Kids loved having special bedrooms and their "own personal" bathroom upstairs. And the large capacity washer kept us in clean clothes despite lots of sweaty outings. John was quick with communication and very helpful. We will highly consider returning.

Our group of three adults and a two-year-old had a great time at this lovely cabin! It was super clean with comfortable beds, beautiful outdoor space, and great communication from the owners. We had other family members staying nearby, and all of the kids loved the swing set. The location is ideal for day trips to Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and surrounding areas. Black Mountain itself has good restaurants and shops, and Lake Tomahawk Park is great for kids.

Super clean, cute cabin located 1.4 miles from downtown Black Mountain. House stocked with all the necessities and comfy beds! Owners were quick to respond and even let us check in a little early! ;) We will definitely rent this cabin again in the future!
