We have stayed here before and as always we received a warm welcome from Steve. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was excellent as ever. The location is quiet yet a quick walk away from the town centre, restaurants etc. It is also handy if, like us, you are visiting Cardiff but prefer to stay somewhere away from the hustle bustle of the city. Useful to have off road parking too.

The only thing marring our 2 night stay this time was an inconsiderate level of noise late at night from a large family group of guests above us which kept us awake on the second night. Our host was most apologetic and, to be fair, this is the only time we have experienced this, Ty Castell is usually a really peaceful place to stay.

The place was very clean and in an excellent proximity to the town and train station.

Steve was lovely and the whole place was the cleanest we have ever seen! And it was really nice to stay in an old-school B&B rather than an anonymous AirBnB!!

Very good breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble.

A comfy chair in our room would have helped but appreciate our room size designed for someone with a disability.

Easy to find and very close to the centre so no distance to walk for dinner. Onsite parking v handy. Rooms were large and nicely decorated with hairdryer, tea & coffee along with bottle of water. Breakfast was whatever you wanted, continental or cooked. Decent selection of cereals, yoghurt, fruit if you weren't having anything cooked. Steve was extremely helpful in recommending places to eat and was very welcoming. Great price for the area.

The room was spacious, and the bed very comfortable. Good water pressure. The host was very welcoming. Good location, a few minute walk into Caerphilly town.

A bigger mirror in the bedroom would be the only improvement I can think of.

Close to town centre unlike other hotels that I’ve stayed in around Caerffili. 5 min walk from most facilities.

Having to give notice for breakfast. It’s understandable because theyre not wasteful and dont have many rooms but it was a new thing to give notice for breakfaat for me

What a lovely place. Booked the family room and had the whole top floor to ourselves!! We also had bikes - and these were locked away securely. Would 100% recommend!

Room is clean and comfortable

We had some issues with TV as after a while BBC 1 & 2 would freeze. It maybe just the weather causing this and a minor issue.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay. Our host went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed (including delicious vegan breakfast, extra towels etc). Very enjoyable stay! Highly recommend!

Fantastic service and atmosphere. Host was brilliant. Rooms were very big, comfy and clean. Very tasty breakfast. We were offered almost too much food. Definitely will stay there again.

This property was everything it claimed to be. The owner Steve met us at the front door, took us on a guided tour of the rooms we had booked and explained how everything worked. The rooms were spotless, the breakfast amazing. Steve told us of good places for a drink and to eat. He is an excellent host.

We arrived very early but we were given our room straight away. It was very clean. We paid for breakfast, which was very nice. Only a short walk into the town. Steve was very helpful in giving us local information and couldn't do enough for us.

Lovely breakfast, with plenty of choice. Great location for travelling into Cardiff on the train. Wonderful, friendly hosts. Very comfortable beds. Very clean and comfortable accommodation.

There was nothing we didn't like, so just a couple of suggestions to make it perfect! Maybe add some decaffeinated tea/ coffee sachets and some biscuits in the bedrooms (although decaff was available at breakfast.).
